Unknown Orphans ((for KRAVENB))

Danielle sighed as she looked at the clock. 6:40 time to get ready for the day. She stared at her reflection. "You're ugly you know that right?" She muttered to it. "Dad would be so ashamed of you" She fingered the dog tags that hung around her neck, they had belonged to her father but he had died nearly a year ago in Afghanistan. She finished cleaning up the blood from her latest job. Put on her hoodie and pounded on her brothers' door.

"Morning Dustin time to get up" She listened until she heard the movements. She licked her lips and walked into the kitchen taking out his meds and making herself and him some breakfast. She checked his homework and signed it, in her mother's name. Nobody from the school knew that her mother had left them and they were home alone. She didn't want to get separated from her brother, and he turned, even though he was a year older they were in the same grade, Duncan had just missed too much school when their father was gone the last time he was home he had fought to get him in school, and Dani made sure that he was in every class now.

Her eyes fell on the letter that she had gotten the night before. The grace period of them living in the Military base housing was coming to an end, they should have been forced to move right away but they didn't need the house so they were left alone, but now they needed it. Dani didn't know what she was going to do. She had gotten so lost in thought she didn't hear Dustin coming in. "Morning sis"

"Morning Dustin" She said then she watched him take the meds. They ate breakfast then headed to school. . “Thank you for the ride today Dustin” They rode in numbed silence. They both hated school. Both were treated like freaks for the way they lost their father.

As they pulled up Danielle nodded her thanks again to Dustin and stepped out of the car placed her Ipod earphones in her ears and entered the school made it to her locker and began to fiddle with the lock. Then slid down and sat her back against the lockers her eyes closed her music so loud that the hallway around her was just a dull roar. She ignored the numerous people purposely walking into her.

Finally she had enough she stood and deicide to check the theater out first, she loved the theater! It was a way to escape her life and her fellow actors didn’t judge her, the actually seemed to care. And when on stage she could at least pretend to be normal, what ever that was. She tried the door LOCKED! She sighed and went to the cafeteria and sat down at a table, opened her school bag and took out her 1st period homework that she hadn’t finished and buried herself into her books, as the school slowly began to fill up. 730, the bell would be ringing in 30 minutes.

Man how she hated school. She didn’t have any friends other then the theater people. She glanced up as the cafeteria began to fill up the cheerleaders walking behind her purposely running into her chair or hitting her across the back of her head. Oh they will pay! Just wait! She told herself as he finished up her homework and packed up ready to leave. If only one person would reach out, is that too much to ask for?

another city, another school. This wasnt what Gray had had in mind when so long ago, he'd pulled that trigger and ended the life of his abuser. Staring cautiously,nhe made his way up the steps to his new school. At 20, having to do this was more than embarassing, but as he looked around, he saw many folk his age and older that didnt have the stiffness of a teacher. He thought this mihht not be as hard as he thought. He still didnt want to do it though, but the folk he lived with had given uim the ultimatum. He finished school, or they s2nd him back to yhe nuthouse. Anything but yhat!

Gray checked his watch. He had 30 minutes before the bell so began to wander to yhe main area. Most of these places were laid out the same so when he found hiksef in the cafeteria, he wasnt bothered. There were folk yhere already, but it was clear they wrre the A class and they wrre yhe worst. He took a table as far away from yhem as possible, ending up one over from what he considered more decent company.

The girl on the table in front of him was pluggef into an ipod and that made him smile as he plugged his own ears with heavy rock and closed his eyes to wait for the populars to pass and let him know the bell had rung.

Danielle sighed she looked at the new kid. She shouldn't walk up to him, let him have a chance and not let anyone see her talking to him but he was new and might be lost. So just before the bell rang she walked to him, waited until he removed the ear buds then smiled."You must be new here, I am Savannah, and I will tell you right now, if you want to have anyone talk to you stay away from me, but just this once I will help you."

She paused and looked around "What is your first class I will show you where it is, if you need it" He schudle was. Drama, English, Math, lunch, then Socials and then a free period.

at forst he ignored the shadow coming at him,it wasn't important. he couldn't see who it was yet but he somehow knew it wasn't one of the a class. the shadow stopped, blocking out the light a.nd he got the impression it wanted to talk to him.  he opened his eyes and looked up.  it was the girl from the table in front.  gray cocked his head to one side and pulled his earphones out.  he didn;t get the greeting he was expecting.  he brushed his hair back and stared at her.  "that's fine" he said "I don't intend on making friends here anyway>"

then she started looking around and then asked him what class he had first.  he pulled his plan out of his bag and looked at it.  "I got chem first."  he said and then looked at the a class as they started getting up.  the bell was about to ring. "I gotta report the main office first."  he said, getting up.  "I got paperwork needs signing."

She bit her lip and nodded to the stranger. So he didn't want friends what else was new? She was a freak. She watched as passer byers snickered at her attempt. She smiled through the rejection and nodded. "Well the office is up there" She pointed up the stairs.

The bell rang and she went to her class. She just couldn't get the new comer out of her head. She performed her monologue then went to her next class English. On the way she was slammed into a locker. She sighed. This was nothing new. She wondered if the new comer an her would have any classes together. Not that it would matter. She was almost out o this school. She couldn't wait.
