~No war has been around since the time of the Avatar, Aang, he had at one point in time been the last Airbender. That has changed a lot over the centuries though. New Airbenders were born after the war was settled and the Nations that once belonged to the Airbenders were restored. Aang is one no person will forget and people have set out to keep that so. In every village or every nation there is at least one shrine to this Avatar. These shrines ranging from small and quaint in small inland Earth Nation villages to grand sanctuaries in large villages like Ba Sing Se. No Avatar since then had been able to accomplish as much as their ancestor.

Now though, one hundred years after the war against the Fire Nation more bad news has approached this civilized world. This time in the form of a rebellion, benders from all nations have band together and have killed the latest Avatar. To show that they believe having one who can master everything could be used as something to gain control, that it is not something that should be allowed to happen. They believe their cause is one of honour that together they are creating what is an equal world where no one has to fear one nation’s higher power because they have the Avatar born and raised within that nation. Leaders and elders from every nation find these people a great harm to the workings of their world, the Avatar is needed to help keep a sense of balance not take it away. As though in his or her own being they show the unity that should be represented by all the nations and the spirits that live through the world.

The leaders of the four nations have chosen a young yet spectacular bender from villages all over the world, two of each element. These eight are young prodigies that the elders believe will be able to stop this rebellion and return peace to the world. The first duty of these eight upon starting their journey would be to hunt down and find the next Avatar who would be around 8 years old and had been born an Earth Bender. Then after that they would be sent to defeat the leaders of this rebellion. Two powerful benders: a man from Ba Sing Se and a very powerful Earth Bender and a man once an Admiral in the Fire Nation army and directly related to Admiral Zhao. They have set up base in an unknown area, the only thing that is known is that it is somewhere within the vast Earth Nation and benders from all over join their forces without ever giving away their real position. An enemy that lurks in the shadows and can attack from anywhere with as much fire power as any nations army. Not only do they have the technology of the Fire Nation but they have the force of all the bending elements on their side a true force to be reckoned with.

For once the Avatar is not the one who is sought upon to bring peace back to the world. The duty is being left to those who are capable, the duties of the Avatar rest on their shoulders. With their skill they have the chance to be just as powerful. These people, mere children to the eyes of the Avatar, to the Earth, are to bring unity to the world once again. ~

+=+ Water+=+ ~Roy Marlux~ +=+Benevolence+=+
Southern Water Tribe

“I am WAY to pale to deal with this place.” Roy stated loudly sitting down inside an igloo and poking his bright red face burnt from the sun bouncing off the snow. He sighed and shook his head before taking his hair out of its tie his long hair the same colour as the clothes he wore it fell around his shoulder and rested half way down his back. He looked up at the tan old lady who was sipping tea across from him. She laughed lightly at him and he frowned, his blue eyebrows furrowing slightly but his purple eyes showed how much of annoyance he found being mocked. “Why is it I have to teach those little kids how to water bend anyways?” he asked pushing his hair back over his shoulders.

“Because you are the best Water Bender this tribe has had since my mother.” She stated with a smile her face which was wrinkling from age turned up into a smile which in turn made Roy smile. This woman, the woman who had taken care of him since he was a baby, was the daughter or Katara the Water Bender who had travelled with the Avatar Aang. He still found it weird to believe that this woman who was like a mother to him had actually met Aang, a person Roy would have loved to have met. “Even a water bender of my status could learn a few things from a boy like you.” Roy smirked at the praise he got it a lot though he was the best bender in the south pole and everyone knew that, even if he hadn’t been born in the area. He didn’t know where he had been born, who his parents were or anything about his biological family and he didn’t mind that, it was easier not to think about it anyways.

“Alright, I understand.” He said nodding. He smiled as he idly started tracing in the snow he moved his hand behind his back and took a deep breath regulating his breath to slow it and relax his whole body as he watched the elder woman move the cup to her mouth he slowly started to move his hand hearing the slight swish of the tea moving he grinned as he flicked his hand up sending the tea out of the cup. She blew on it before it could hit her face and it froze in an instant. She gave Roy a look but she smiled at him and his smile was twice the size forcing his eyes to squint then they both started laughing.

She moved so she was sitting next to him. She had abandoned her cup of frozen tea and placed a hand on his shoulder, “Now if only you could put that skill of yours to good use.” She started playing with his hair. Roy turned so she could do his hair, putting one half of it into a decorative hair piece that looked much like a pan flute with water based symbols all over it.

“GRAN! GRAN!”A young boy came flying into the igloo Roy was in. Roy cocked an eyebrow as he looked at him out of the corner of his eye. He looked like he was about to piss himself in excitement. “There’s a flying bison outside! It was actually FLYING! An air bender wants to talk to you!” Roy looked at from the little boy to Gran with a cocked eyebrow. She had finished with that half of his hair so she stood up and ruffled the boy’s hair.

“Alright, alright, let’s go see this flying bison.” She said. Roy out of curiosity followed the two as the left. He wasn’t that tall barely standing at 6 feet but he was still quite a bit taller than a lot of the people in the tribe. He picked up the little boy and swung him up onto his shoulders as he did with a lot of the children, all of which he was close with. They headed just out of the little village where sure enough there was a flying bison lying there. Two men with blue arrows tattooed onto their heads were talking where they stood next to the animal. Gran approached them, “Hello there young men, what can I do for you.” The two turned to her and bowed respectfully in an Airbender like fashion with one hand out, one over their head and one leg crossed over the other, bending their spines. Roy put down the boy who snuck past the bowing Airbenders to pet the bison. Roy and Gran bowed back, Roy stood a few paces back and folded his arms over his chest as he watched the Airbenders who looked like they were cold.

One of the Airbenders took a scroll off his belt and handed it to Gran. She unrolled it as the Airbender spoke, “It’s a notice from the leaders of the Nations that we were sent to deliver. We are here looking for the most powerful water bender in your village to help battle the rebellion of the benders.” He stated. Gran looked at Roy before reading the scroll herself. She laughed as she handed the scroll to Roy.

“Read it over boy, what do you think about travelling to the Southern Air temple and fighting a rebellion.” She stated with a laugh. Roy cocked an eyebrow before reading the scroll and his confused features turned up into smile and he laughed and threw the scroll back to the Airbender who caught it and looked to his companion with a confused face.

“Sounds like fun, I’m the most powerful bender here. I’ll be glad to go with you. I’d love to see the world, and use my power for something other then...blowing up tea in people faces.” He said smiling down at his Gran who punched him in the arm and the two of them laughed again.

“Would you mind giving us a brief demonstration?” one of the Airbenders asked. Roy sighed and nodded. He looked around before noting the kid who was climbing up onto the bison. He smirked and stood in a balanced stance moving his arms gracefully lifting snow from the ground and sending it flying towards the boy knocking him off the bison and into the snow where he disappeared. Roy rolled his arms back and took a step back as he turned his body to face the other way before lifting his arms and a laughing little boy shot out of the snow. He shot the Airbenders a look that was asking them to say something. They paused, “Alright let’s get going.”

Roy turned to his Gran and gave her a hug, “I’ll miss you. I’ll send you a messenger bird with letters every once and a while.” He said with a laugh. Gran just nodded and hugged him back.

“Have fun my boy, and be safe.” She said kissing his forehead. Roy stood up straight and with a swish of his arm made himself stairs up onto the bison’s back out of the snow in front of him. He blew his Gran a kiss as the Airbenders jumped up onto the bison and the animal took off into the sky. Roy smiled as he watched the air fly by, he held his hair down and laughed loudly as he let himself fall back to lie down in the large saddle on this animals back. He had a good feeling about this; he knew it was going to be a fun way to show off his powers with people who were nearly as good with their elements as he was with his. He started to gather water out of the moisture in the clouds and started playing with it, it was his....exercise and he was going to need it.

+=+ Earth+=+ ~Azami Fire~ +=+Stability+=+
Omashu
Azami had her hair tied up behind her head and a straw hat on her head to shield her from the sun beating down on her city of Omashu. She helped with the delivery system. After Bumi’s death, after the Earth Kingdom was in possession of the city again, her grandfather, a man who had known Bumi for a long time, was put into power and her family has always been wealthy since. Azami was a very powerful Earth Bender and every once and a while she can’t help but think that this mail system was a waste of her abilities but she didn’t dare say anything and went day to day doing what she was trained to do.

Azami had a great interest in the other types of bending and had only gotten to see a water bender once in her life and a fire bender once when she was very, very young. She wanted to know how other form of bending were done and would do anything to see them, it was one of the reasons she trained as hard as she did to become as good as she was. She was never given the chance to explore and see the world though, being forced to work in the mail system when she turned thirteen.

“Azami, wanna ride the delivery carts with us?” the young children she knew well asked her one day while she worked. She looked down at them and smiled for a moment before lifting her arms raising a cart from a lower level, she looked it over before sending it down the track with a strong movement. She turned to them, ruffling the hair of the nearest one.

“You know I can’t do that, especially not right now I’m in the middle of work.” She said with a laugh. The children looked rather disappointed. Azami frowned for a moment, “but if you guys want to go have some fun, I’ll make sure you don’t get in trouble.” She stated pressing the side of her finger to her lip and winking at them. Their faces lit up as they thanked her and took off. She watched them, and watched as they stopped as well. Staring and pointing up at the sky. Azami cocked an eyebrow as her gaze followed theirs. She watched as a flying bison flew over the wall and her face lit up as she knew there were Air Benders up there and they were heading towards her grand fathers palace. She took off her hat and let it hit the ground as she jumped into the next cart that showed up and started bending her way up to her grandfathers. She jumped out of the cart and ran inside and sure enough two Airbenders were talking to him. She stood to the side and didn’t say anything as they spoke. She didn’t really know what she was expecting, it wasn’t like they were going to start air bending right there.

“Alright...I will se-... oh.” Azami’s grandfather had turned and saw her and she jumped and made to run when her grandfather beckoned her forward. The two Airbenders looked at her and she felt the heat rising to her cheeks as she moved towards him. “This is her, my granddaughter Azami and one of the most promising Earth Benders in the nation.” And her cheeks only got hotter at the praise. Before she could say anything though her grandfather turned back to the Airbenders “She will go on this mission for you.”

“I’m going to what?” she asked coming even closer to the three. Her grandfather handed her a scroll. She read it over a couple times with a small frown as she took in what it said. “Oh...uh, sure I will go.” She said handing the scroll back.

“Do you mind showing us something you can do?” one of the Airbenders asked. Azami nodded and looked around before walking to one of the stone pillars. She took a deep breath giving herself a wide, firm stance, she took a deep breath as she brought her fist back then exhaled as she punched the pillar and bits crumbled away leaving an intricately designed carving of her grandfather who laughed as he looked it over. The Airbenders looked at one another and nodded. One of them looked at her, “Alright, that will do, you can come with us, we’re heading back to the Southern Air Temple where you will meet the rest of the Benders going with you.” He explained. Azami nodded as she followed them out onto the balcony where their bison was lying. Her Grandfather followed them out. Azami looked at him for a moment before sprinting and hugging him tightly.

“I’ll see you later. I love you.” She said as he hugged her back. He let go and ruffled her hair. She looked up into his old face which was smiling very fondly down at her.

“I love you too Azami and I will tell your parents don’t worry. Prove your honour and...have fun, I know this is the sort of thing you have always wanted.” He wiped under her eye where tears had started to form, “Now be strong like the great Earth Bender you are.” She nodded sharply and went to climb up onto the bison she waved at her grandfather as they took off into the sky. She looked down at Omashu one last time before looking up to the sky. She was finally getting to live her dream.

+=+ Fire+=+ ~Lark Marlux~ +=+Passion+=+
Fire Nation Capital

“Stop dodging! Fight!” It was a very commanding shout. Lark frowned as he dodged yet another blast of fire that flew over his head. He sighed as his opponent stepped towards him and he slid up underneath him flipping him onto his back. His opponent growled, “With Fire! What kind of Fire bender doesn’t fight with fire!?” he shouted. Lark again sighed. His opponent ran at him again and he slipped down a fire like blade coming off the back of his hand he swung it up landing a sharp blow to his opponent’s stomach opening him up for a swift kick to the stomach knocking him back. It was Lark’s turn to run forward. He put the fingers of his open palm against his opponent’s neck. There was clapping and both the teen boys looked up to see the person who they hadn’t known had been watching them. Their father.

“Good job boys.” He said with a smile. He came and helped up the black haired teen from the ground. He growled to himself as he walked off. Kicking a stone that had come loose during their spar sparks flew off his foot. Their father laughed as he turned to Lark who crossed his arms and watched his brother walk off, “He doesn’t even know how much he is like his great grandfather. How he would love to see him right now I am sure. Even looks like him.” He said with a laugh. Lark smiled knowing that his father was talking of course of Prince Zuko from the time of the Avatar Aang, a hundred years ago.

“I thought Zuko died before you could actually talk to him...” Lark said more as a question then a statement, he used his language very properly.

“I should take that as a compliment. But no I was around back when Zuko was alive, albeit he was incredibly old. I did get to talk to him, but he didn’t talk about himself that much. I heard all my stories from my father.” Lark’s father explained with a laugh. Lark smiled and nodded. Zuko had been 65 when Lark’s father was born and had died when Lark’s father turned 26 at the respectable age of 91, twelve years before Lark was even born.

“Do you think I should go talk to him?” Lark said his eyes drifting to where his brother had disappeared. His father nodded and Lark walked off quickly in search of his brother. He found this black haired teen in his bedroom sprawled out on his bed staring up at the ceiling. He didn’t even look at Lark as his brother walked in. “Are you alright?”

His brother glared at him, “Father only acknowledges you. Nothing’s alright, I will never be seen as a powerful Fire bender because of you.” He stated before rolling over facing the wall opposite Lark. Lark frowned, his blue brows furrowed together. “It’s not fair.” Lark barely heard his brother mutter to himself. Lark sat down at the edge of his brother’s bed.

“You act as though he does not even love you.” He said with a sigh twiddling his thumbs and looking at the fire hanging on the wall opposite him. “You are the one he loves the most. I am the one that has to work twice as much for him to acknowledge me, you are his blood son, and I am just the adopted son of a stranger.” He said. He looked down at his brother and put a hand on his shoulder. “You just...do not control your emotions as well as you could. Your rage flares up far too much, brother. I talked to father, he said that you are just like Prince Zuko, so I am sure you will be just as great as he was. I am nothing compared to you who are of true royal blood.” Lark said almost completely under his breath, uttering only what he thought was the truth. His brother looked up at him and Lark smiled down at him, he smiled back up. Both of them looked at the door as it opened.

“Ah, Lark. There you are. Come on, the Fire Lord has requested a meeting with you.” A Fire Nation soldier said bowing slightly. Lark blinked a couple times before looking back down at his brother who had gone back to staring at the wall. Lark sighed as he stood up.

“Tell Grandfather I will be there in a few moments, I will go get changed.” Lark said with a nod as he looked down at a scorch mark on his loose red sleeve, the gold trim around the end of it was almost completely singed all the way around after the fight he had had with his brother not that long ago. The soldier nodded deeply before walking out of the room. Lark sighed as he turned to look back at his brother, “It is nothing, please, take what I said to heart brother.” He said before walking out of his brother’s room and closing the door behind him.

He went to his own room and got himself changed into his best clothes before heading down to where his grandfather, the Fire Lord, would be waiting for him. He walked into the room and down the pillared aisle before kneeling down before to podium his grandfather sat upon, the golden Fire Nation symbol of a crown glinted in the red fire that surrounded him. Lark was silent as he bowed his head and waited for his grandfather to speak to him. He heard footsteps behind him but didn’t lift his head.

“Lark, these men are Airbenders from the Southern Air Temple, they are looking for the best young Fire bender in the nation to go on an important mission involving the safety of the next Avatar.” Lark looked up and between the two Airbenders and his grandfather. He listened intently as his grandfather continued. “I, of course, have selected you to go. You are the greatest Fire bender prodigy I have yet to encounter in the royal family. Skill near powerful enough to rival even mine.” The old man said with a laugh. “Please take the scroll from them; we are awaiting your answer.” Lark took the scroll from the Airbender on his right and read it over a couple times. It said that he would not be home for a long time and that there would be 7 others going. He didn’t really know what to say about it but he knew he wasn’t sure whether or not the pressure was something he could handle.

“What about my brother? Why did you not choose him?” It was the first words that came to his mind so it was the first words he voiced, because he knew this was the kind of thing his brother needed now, since he felt so useless. His grandfather was silent for a while.

“Your brother is far too hot headed. He is not capable of thinking calmly over a situation when it is needed, unlike you who has the grace and calm attitude of a Water bender in the body of a very capable and strong Fire bender.” His grandfather said with a laugh. Lark understood and he knew his grandfather was right.

“Alright, I understand. I will go.” Lark said dropping his head to the side as he handed the scroll back to the Airbender. He stood up and looked up at his grandfather. “I will leave then, please tell my brother for me. Try to make him understand, since I know he will have trouble with it.” The Fire Lord nodded and Lark sighed as he followed the Airbenders out and started this new journey. The frown never left his face though. Overall he did have a rather bad feeling about all of this. He would just have to hope for the best he assumed.

+=+ Air+=+ ~Kyoufuu Peeak~ +=+Peace+=+
Southern Air Temple

It was quiet and tranquil in the Southern Air Temple for the time being, a lot of people were out thought Kyoufuu wasn’t really sure why they were gone or where they were gone too, he just knew he liked the quiet. He looked out the stone arched window to his side and spun the metal barbell through the bridge of his nose a couple times with a small frown. He shook his head and closed his eyes, his fists pressed together so the arrow on the back of either hand pointed towards one another, symbolize the constant flow of chi through the body. Though his mind was supposed to be blank he couldn’t help but think for a moment as he felt his hair brushing his piercing, about how he was a ‘rebel’ in the air bending community. All young Airbenders with the ceremonial air bending tattoos must always have their tattoos visible, as training for when they become monks. Kyoufuu didn’t want to be a monk, but being born an Airbender he was forced to be. It was why he got piercings and grew out his hair. He still obeyed all the rules brought in by air bending he just didn’t do much else.

The door behind him opened and he couldn’t help but let out a sigh. “Could you not leave me alone for a minute, I’m trying to meditate.” Kyou stated sharply not even bothering to move since he knew who it was anyways.

“Really, you don’t seem to be concentrating nearly enough to be meditating. Your mind is elsewhere Kyou.” The sound of an old man’s voice wafted through the room and Kyoufuu sighed. “Now come on leader would like to talk to you.” Kyou knew that by ‘leader’ he meant the most powerful Airbender at the Southern Air Temple and the oldest most intelligent monk. Kyoufuu stood up and glared at the old man in his long yellow and maroon robe. The old man just smiled at him. “You should shave your head...and get rid of those horrible piercings Kyou.” He seemed to add as an afterthought. Kyou just glared more fiercely.

“Shut up old man. I don’t want to nor will I ever want to be a monk, I don’t even want to be an Airbender, I am NOT following your rules.” He stated furiously before pushing by the old man and out into the hall just to have a gust of air push him against the wall across the hall. He groaned as he turned and glared at the old man. Turning sharply and blowing the old monk back onto the pillow Kyou had just been sitting on. He flipped the old man off before walking away. He growled and cursed to himself fiddling with his rather small bull ring and clicking his tongue ring against his teeth. When he finally entered the great monk’s chamber he walked up to the old man and gave him a small bow, it was almost a sign of mockery how he refused to bow low to this high authority figure. He did nothing though; he didn’t even say anything about how rude of a gesture it was.

“Young Kyoufuu. I have a message for you.” The old man said holding out a scroll. Kyoufuu frowned as he came forward and took the scroll from the old man. Kyou opened it and read it over his expression turning sour quickly. He was about to refuse the mission when the old man spoke, “You don’t have a choice, I have already chosen you. You are a powerful Airbender, you just refuse our ways. I want you to go on this mission to learn more about yourself and the other bending societies. Maybe the other Airbender coming from the Northern Air Temple will be able to show you what it’s like to be a true Airbender with a respect for our ways.” The old man explained. Kyoufuu frowned.

“Fine, whatever I will go on this mission for you.” Kyoufuu stated dropping his head and sighing. He pushed his dark bangs out of his face and glared off to the side.

“Good, the other benders will be arriving soon and you will all meet here in about two hours from now.” He said putting his hands into his sleeves. “Now go make yourself look presentable. I will talk to you later.” He said before waving him off.

“Alright, but the piercings and hair stay no matter what.” He said glaring at the old man who just nodded. With that Kyoufuu walked off to his chambers to get himself changed into his best clothes then he would go to the top of the highest tower, in other words, his little sanctuary away from the world.

From this place he could see everything. He could see the flying bison off in the distant obviously coming with the other benders that would be coming on this mission with him. He frowned, not looking forward to this in the least. He had never been and would never be a people person and he wished these stupid old monks would learn that already. He decided to go down when the first bison landed, it had been coming from the south, so he assumed it was the bender from the southern water tribe. If people all the way from the North Pole had been told about this then they must have been told at least a week ago that this was going to happen for them all to arrive around the same time. He jumped out the window and free fell down before using his air bending to cushion his landing. He headed down to the monks chambers and walked in with his hands in his pockets. The other bender was already in here.

“It’s so different here. And it’s only like...a few hours away but it’s so much warmer.” The tall man with long blue hair said taking off his parka and dropping it to his side. He was looking around with such fascination that it made Kyoufuu rather disgusted. The old monk noticed Kyoufuu walk in and motioned to him. The water bender turned and looked at him. His eyes were purple, it was such an odd colour but it suited him and his odd coloured hair well.

“Roy, this is the Airbender from our temple who will be accompanying you, Kyoufuu Peeak, we just call him Kyou. And Kyou, this is the young man from the southern water tribe, Roy Marlux.” The old man said. Roy took a few steps towards him and held out his hand.

“It’s nice to meet you and I do hope we can become friends.” This ‘Roy’ person said. Kyoufuu frowned but sighed and shook his hand.

“Yes it is nice to meet you as well.” Kyoufuu said as he heard more footsteps as more of the benders arrived. He turned around and looked at them. He did notice that one of them had blue hair a few shades darker then Roy’s with the same purple but he was dressed in very royal Fire Nation garb. With tight black fabric around his wrists up to his elbow, the colour a very regal red and maroon with gold trims. There was a very timid looking girl in green Earth Nation clothes who looked incredibly nervous and four others. Roy who was nearly a foot taller than him seemed very excited about meeting all these new people. Kyoufuu really couldn’t care less. He turned back to the great monk as he stood up.

“Welcome young benders from across the map. It is a great honour for you all to have gathered here!” he said in a very young and powerful voice that Kyoufuu didn’t even know he had. “Now why doesn’t everyone introduce themselves and state where they hail from.” He said sitting back down at the 8 benders stood in a line. “Kyou, why don’t you start.” He stated with a smile, Kyoufuu sighed.

“My name is Kyoufuu Peeak, an Airbender here from the Southern Air Temple.” He stated.

“My name is Roy Marlux, the greatest water bender from the Southern Water Tribe.” Roy said proudly. Neither of the two of them noticed Lark tense up from where he stood on the other side of the small Earthbender girl.

“My name is Azami Fire, Earthbender of the Earth Nation city of Omashu.” She said with a bow pushing her long brown hair back over her shoulder and looking down at the floor, her hands clasped together in front of her.

“My name is Lark Marlux, adoptive son of the Fire Lord’s son, hailing from the Fire Nation Capital, chosen for this mission by my grandfather the Fire Lord who sees great potential in my Fire bending skills.” Lark said bowing deeply to the monk. Roy’s eyes opened wide and he looked at the Fire bender but he said nothing and just looked down at the floor and chewed his lip. Lark said nothing either. The four who had just spoken waited for the other four, the ones who they would ultimately both learn from and teach during their time living with one another, to speak their names.

*Ashton Decker~ Water*
Northern Water Tribe

Clenching his fist around the dark material, Ashton pulled his coat tighter around him, walking into the room where his mother was lying. He gave a small smile in greeting, sitting down beside her. The illness she suffered from wasn’t severe in it’s symptoms, but it was one not known to the area, therefore, they had no cure ready to treat her with. Ashton was sure it would eventually get worse, but he hoped it wouldn’t make it to that point. Her immune system had to do something for it, didn’t it?

“Good morning Ash” his mother greeted him, smiling back at him. Even in this condition she was the happiest person he knew.
“G’morning” he replied automatically. He took her hand as he always did, just enjoying the company, and the smiles she gave him. When she started to talk he listened, adding the appropriate sounds when he figured he should. He wasn’t much for talking.

He was used to his mother talking to him. It was soothing, if anything. It had been this way when he was younger as well. His father had died in an accident, but nobody had told him what that accident included. Everybody who knew had decided he was still too young, which at sixteen, just made him suspicious. Ashton was naturally curious, but he rarely asked questions, unless it was absolutely necessary. He preferred to stay quiet, and more under the radar, but most people knew who he was anyways. He helped out whenever it was needed, which got him a reputation as an angel child. He knew he was one of the best benders in the tribe, which just added to the reputation. Not that he minded. He liked being a good person.

Even being the quiet person he was, Ashton wanted to go somewhere. He wanted to see what was beyond the North Pole, and be able to travel. If only an opportunity would come up. He looked out the window slightly longingly, only half listening to his mother, which he was sure she knew. Neither of them minded. It was what they did, every day for a few hours. Mother-son bonding. It could be called that.

“ASHTON!! ASHTOOOON!! COME LOOK!! LOOOOOOK!!” a shrill voice screeched, which he instantly knew was his little sister Maislie, obviously excited about something. He let go of his mother’s hand and got to his feet, giving her a smile.

“I’ll be right back” He said softly before turning and walking outside, narrowing his eyes slightly against the glare of sun off of snow. His sights were immediately set on the biggest animal he had ever seen. He wasn’t even quite sure what it was. A giant bison? With six legs. . . and it seemed to be a few feet off of the snow. He approached his little sister, tilting his head to the side, looking at the group of people crowded around the animal. “What is that?” he asked, his eyes met with the bright green ones of his younger sister.

“It’s a flying bison! Can’t you see? Jeez! And two Airbenders came with it!” Maislie was all smiles, obviously excited. She walked closer to the bison, which was now resting on the ground, and put a hand to its shaggy fur, petting it and laughing. Many of the children around were doing the same thing. At least the bison didn’t seem to mind. It wasn’t going on a mad rampage and destroying anything. He stepped towards the group of people, all of whom he recognized except for the two Airbenders. One man looked up as he approached, and met his eyes, grinning.

“There’s the one who should be looking at this. He’s the best bender around here” The man said fondly. Ashton’s brows drew together in confusion. They were looking for the best Waterbender?

“I’m not the best bender here” he muttered mostly to himself, being modest, as he normally was. He accepted the scroll that was handed to him, unrolling it. His eyes travelled along the words swiftly, piquing his interest instantly. “. . . Rebellion. . .?” he muttered to himself, finishing reading and smiling slightly. “Well, I’d love to go actually. I guess I’ll just go say goodbye?” he said, handing the scroll off and heading back inside to his mother. When he saw her expression when he walked in, he knew that she assumed he was only there to explain what the big commotion was. “Hey. A giant, six legged, flying bison showed up, carrying two Airbenders. They’re here looking for the strongest bender from here, to fight against a rebellion. I’ve been selected, I guess, to go with them. I’m sorry mother, but I’ve got to go with them. I’ll see you when I get home. I love you” that was the longest he had said in a long time, and his mother was silent through it, before reaching her arms up for a hug. He bent down and hugged her back, kissing her cheek.

“I love you too. I’m proud of you Ashton. Have fun. Goodbye” she whispered in his ear before letting go, and he pulled back, giving a smile.

“Bye mom” were his final words before he rejoined his sister outside, who was still petting the bison. “Mais, I’m going with these Airbenders. I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I will. Take care of mom, okay? Bye” he ruffled her hair and ignored the protests from her as he left, walking up to the Airbenders and nodding to them. They jumped up onto the bison and he followed, climbing up easily and sitting down near the back of the saddle on the animal, giving a brief smile and wave to those on the ground, and then they took off.

*Cypress Frost~ Earth*
Ba Sing Se

Lying in the shade of a small tree with both arms crossed behind his head, and his eyes closed, Cypress was incredibly relaxed. He always felt lazy. It just wasn’t often he got to act lazy. He let out a content sigh, his body stretched out and his legs crossed. But of course, his peace was short-lived. Something landed on his stomach, hard, knocking the air out of him. His eyes shot open and he shoved the large rock off of himself easily. He couched once before turning a glare on the grinning little boy, making him laugh. It was always the little ones who attacked him when he was relaxing.

“Gotchya!” the kid yelled before being bent double laughing. It seemed to be a contest between a bunch of the children as to who could annoy him the most. He helped a group of them with their bending, which he was starting to regret, if this was how they repaid him.

“Yeah? Well I’m about to get you!” Cypress threatened, getting to his feet. The kid squeaked and turned tail, fleeing down the street and disappearing between people. He sighed and shook his head, leaning back against the tree, not bothering to do anything about it. The kid would be back and bothering him eventually. It was like a daily ritual. But it was welcome. He could consider his students his friends just as much as he considered his friends his friends.

He looked up at the sky, sighing. He closed his eyes for a moment, watching the orange glow beneath his eyelids, until it was blotted out for a few seconds. He opened his eyes in confusion and stared. It looked like a flying bison. But that couldn’t be, could it? It was flying low, and probably had landed somewhere in the city. He raised his eyebrows and shrugged before walking home. Home wasn’t very big, but it was all he needed. He lived on his own, needing some space from his parents. They were a little. . . excessive.

Being ambushed on his way home was expected, having about six kids lying in wait for him and thinking he wouldn’t be expecting it. You’d think after them doing this for a month and a half now, they wouldn’t find it amusing anymore. But Cypress assumed them getting better with their bending they tried to get him with new techniques and attacks. Obviously they weren’t thinking about the fact that he taught it to them.

Throwing up walls of earth on either side of him, they moved along with him as he walked to where he was sure it was a safe distance, before darting to his house, throwing the door open and dashing inside, slamming the door in time to hear something hit the door with a thud and a shouted curse. He opened the door a crack and stuck his head out. “Hey! Watch your language, kid!” he called, pulling his head back inside as a rock was hurled at it. He laughed, shaking his head and all but collapsing on his bed, feeling a bit lazy, as always. There was just something nice about sitting around doing nothing. If it was possible to be addicted to lying around, he probably was. He was just glad he got enough exercise running away from little kids. As pathetic as that was.

“CYPRESS! GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE AND READY TO LEAVE!!” The unmistakable sound of his father’s voice cut through Cypress’s relaxing. Could he get a minute of peace? He groaned and got up, opening the door to stop the furious pounding.

“Ready to leave for what?” he asked curiously, not sure he wanted to know. He looked down at his father cautiously. He had no idea what was going on, but he knew better than to trust his father with something.

“You’re going to go help some other young benders with suppressing rebels. Now get your ass moving! The Airbenders that came looking for a good bender are waiting for you just down the street” the man finished, glaring defiantly at his son. Cypress blinked in confusion before his father was gone, not even offering a ‘goodbye’.

“Umm. . . okay?” he muttered, walking outside and closing the door anyways, heading down the street to the open area he was sure could fit the bison he had seen, sure it had been the thing carrying the Airbenders. Sure enough, he could see a giant bison standing there, with a small crowd around it , a few of them the kids he taught. He had no idea what was really going on. Rebels? His father always had had a way with words. But he wasn’t surprised that he had been offered up to help. His parents were probably hoping he wouldn’t come back.

“Hey. I’m here. Something about rebels?” he said to the Airbenders he walked up to, and he was handed a scroll as the kids ran over to him screaming questions. He read the scroll and handed it back. “I guess I’ll go” he shrugged. He had nothing better to do. He turned to the little boys and grinned slightly. “I won’t be able to help you with your bending for a while, so keep improving, but don’t kill me the minute I get home. Whenever that is” he ignored their shouted challenges and made himself stairs up to the back of the bison and he climbed up after the Airbenders jumped, waving to the people he knew before leaning back, off to who knows where.

*Ridge Castro~ Fire*
Ember Island

Both teens were sweaty and shirtless, panting harshly. The taller male pinned his friend to the ground, smirking. He pressed their chests together, basking in his dominance. It wasn’t often he wound up like this, as much as he would have loved it to happen every time. “Giving up already?” he growled, giving an evil grin. Finally things were going his way.

“You wish” came the gasping reply as he was finally flipped over again. For the smaller of the two, he was still a minuscule amount stronger. Letting out a grunt the black-haired teen struggled to get his back off of the ground, trying to use the momentum from him being flipped to continue the roll, putting him on the top. He grinned triumphantly.

“I win” he stated simply, getting to his feet slowly, and holding his hand out, which his friend grudgingly took. Wrestling wasn’t really something he excelled at, but every once and a while he managed to pull ahead.

“I hate you, Ridge” the shorter boy shot at his friend once he was standing again.

“Don’t lie, you obviously want a piece of this” Ridge motioned down at his bare chest, grinning broadly. His friend rolled his eyes and Ridge laughed, flicking his head to the side to rid his face of his bangs. “Too bad you’re not my type” he turned and picked up his shirt, pulling it on slowly. He hated putting on a shirt when he was sweaty, but it would have to do for now.

“You’re not going to win next time. I went easy on you. Wrestling is my thing, don’t forget” his friend mimicked Ridge’s actions, pulling his shirt on, grimacing slightly as the material stuck to his sweaty skin.

“Which is why I prefer fighting fire with fire” Ridge grinned at his pun, which really hadn’t been that funny, but he didn’t care. While his friend was better at physical fighting, he dominated when it came to Fire bending. Nobody could beat him, ever. If he had his way, that would be how he got his training in every day. As much as he loved rolling around on the ground with attractive, sweaty men, he rarely won. And everybody likes winning. Plus, the ground wasn’t exactly the best place for rolling around with attractive, sweaty men.

“Yeah yeah, whatever. Well I gotta go babysit my sister” he sighed, rolling his eyes. Ridge laughed. That little girl was a devil child. She couldn’t bend, but she was crazy.

“Sucks for you dude. I’ll see you tomorrow I guess” Ridge laughed and started to leave, before pausing and throwing a “Good luck! You’ll need it!” over his shoulder, laughing at his friend’s misfortune. “God I love being an only child” he muttered to himself, walking down the street. He should be getting back home soon anyways.

The minute he walked in the door he started yelling. “RAWR!! FEED ME!!” he yelled through the house, his stomach growling to accent his call. When nobody answered he frowned, walking through his home. Normally his mom would either come back with a sarcastic retort or yell back at him to shut up. “Mom? Dad? ANYBODY!? Come on, I’m hungry!” he sighed, dropping into a chair after finding nobody. About ten minutes later his parents walked in the door, grinning the same proud, ‘My-son-is-the-best-in-the-world’ grin. Ridge raised an eyebrow, starting to question their sanity. “Umm. . . what’s up?” he asked, a bit unnerved by their creepy smiles.

“Well,” his dad started, sitting down across from him, “Some Airbenders came to the island today, looking for a strong young bender to take with them for an important job. Think you’d be up for it? Because you’ve been pretty much selected to go”. Ridge was silent for a moment before grinning widely, liking the sound of this already.

“Something important? Sounds awesome. I’ll go. But. . . can I eat first?” he asked, looking to his mom, who sent him a playful glare.

“No, we’re sending you off to starve to death. You can eat quickly and then you’re leaving. Can’t keep them waiting too long!” his mom smiled at him, and he grinned back. This was going to be awesome. He could tell already. Only ten minutes later he had shoved food down his throat and said his goodbyes, and headed to the place his parents had told him to go to. He had no idea what was really going on, but who cares? He was going to get to meet new people, screw around, and travel. From what he had heard.

Once arriving at the designated area the first thing he noticed was a giant bison. Accent on giant. The second thing he noticed was the two Airbenders, apparently waiting for him. One was sitting on the ground, and one on the back of the bison. “Hey. I’m Ridge. Let’s get this party started!” he announced his arrival, climbing up onto the bison and looking at the Airbenders expectantly as the one on the ground jumped up onto the bison as well.

He waved at the small crowd that had come to watch, which included his parents. How had he not noticed them following him? He shrugged it off. “Sayonara, SUCKERS!” he yelled, grinning and making a face at the crowd, laughing as the bison took off, not what he had been expecting. Nobody told him it was a flying bison. Apparently that detail along with a few others had been left out. That was always nice to know. At least he knew he could trust his parents enough to be not tricking him into being shipped off to jail somewhere.

*Kaia Ayers~ Air*
Northern Air Temple

“GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE MOTHERFUCKER!!” Her angry cry cut through the air as Kaia raced down the street. She was supposed to be watching her little brother, but it obviously wasn’t turning out well. She tried to knock his feet out from under him with gusts of wind, but he seemed to know exactly when she was going to, and either jump or dodge to the side. “I’M GOING TO MURDER YOU!!” she screamed, which probably wasn’t the best encouragement to get him back, but she didn’t care. She was angry. The next gust of wind she sent at him she aimed a little higher, catching him while he was in the air and sending him tumbling to the ground, screaming.

“Don’t hurt me! Don’t hurt me!” his cries were specifically designed to get attention of some of the monks, to get some sympathy for them to stop the ‘bully’. Sure, Kaia could be a bit of a bully, but only to her brother. Or people who made her angry. She was on the little boy in an instant, standing over him and catching her breath.

“You seriously. . . made me chase you. . . for twenty minutes. . . because you didn’t. . . want to put a shirt on?” she asked in a deadly voice, between pants. “I’m going to kill you” she seethed, clenching her fists and shaking her head. “That was such a waste of my many talents. Come on” she grabbed his arm, pulling him down the street. He had fallen silent by now, pouting at the fact that he had lost, as always. Kaia wasn’t sure why he expected to get anywhere. He was just a nuisance created to piss her off. And it worked, obviously. She picked up the fallen shirt and pulled it over his head forcefully. “Now wasn’t that easy?” she asked in a sweet voice, earning a glare.

Their case had probably pissed off a dozen people trying to mediate, but Kaia didn’t really care. It was a normal occurrence around the temple by now. A few people sighed and shook their heads as they walked by, earning a slight laugh from her. Even if it was a waste of her talents, it could be fun sometimes. In the end, when she had caught her breath and gotten plenty of exercise, and screamed her throat raw. It all felt better later. At least her brother was a good way to vent her anger, instead of breaking things.

“Now you can go. But I swear, if I find that shirt on the ground without you one more time, you won’t be getting off without some damage” she threatened, turning and walking away from her brother, leaving him to do whatever he wanted. Sure, it may not have been the best idea when she was supposed to be watching him, but he had caused her enough trouble. Somebody else could deal with him. “Now what do I- HEY LOOK A FLYING BISON! COOL!” she screamed when the shape caught her attention, and she started running again, in the direction that the bison was going. She followed it until she saw it land, and she ran up beside it. Two unfamiliar Airbenders jumped off, handing a scroll to one of the monks.

Joining the group, Kaia read over the monk’s shoulder and immediately threw her arms in the air after finishing reading. It sounded exciting, and she really wanted to go. “OOOH!! I’LL GO!! PICK ME! PICK ME!” she called, waving an arm in the air excitedly. What she wouldn’t give to get to leave her brother around and go fight.

“If you stopped screaming in my ear, you can” the monk replied, to which Kaia shut up, her hand dropping, but her excitement didn’t disappear. “Go on. Just try to keep your head Kaia, please. This is dangerous”. Kaia nodded enthusiastically. “I’m serious. I trust you with your bending one hundred percent, but keep that temper of yours in check” another excited nod. “Good luck”.

“Thanks. Someone’s gonna have to make sure that the monster doesn’t kill anybody though. I can’t multitask that well” she laughed and a few people nodded. Her brother really needed to be kept under control. It probably made some people reluctant to let her go. That hell-born child would probably rip the temple apart the minute she was gone. But at this point, Kaia couldn’t care less. She wouldn’t have to deal with it.

“When do we leave?” she asked, turning to the unfamiliar Airbenders. In answer, they jumped onto the back of the bison, and she followed, getting herself seated and looking down at the people she would be leaving. “See y’all later! Don’t all die while I’m gone!” she called, waving frantically and grinning widely. She was off on some crazy mission to kick some ass. Well, that was how she pictured it. In the distance she could see her brother running down the street as the bison took off, screaming something about ‘take me with you’. She was tempted to make a rude hand gesture to him, but decided against it.

Southern Air Temple

Kaia walked into the temple, comparing similarities between her home and this Air Temple. There were seven other benders there, and she looked at them all, scrutinizing them carefully. The man with black hair and a shocking streak of red in his bangs seemed to be doing the same thing, but taking more care looking the males there up and down. She didn’t spend much time thinking about that as a monk started talking. Introduce themselves? Good way to start, she supposed. If they were going to be living together.

She looked at each person in turn as they introduced themselves, trying to memorize the names and faces together. Kyoufuu, Roy, Azami, and Lark. She was sure she had it all down.

“My name is Kaia Ayers, an Airbender from the Northern Air Temple” she stated proudly, crossing his arms.

“My name is Ridge Castro, Firebender from Ember Island” Ridge gave a cocky grin, tilting his chin up slightly.

“My name is Cypress Frost, Earthbender from the capitol city of Ba Sing Se” Cypress gave a slightly lazy smile, running a hand through his brown hair.

“My name is Ashton Decker, Waterbender of the Northern Water Tribe” he looked down, feeling a bit awkward in the presence of seven people he didn’t know, and all who were probably more outgoing than he was. This would prove to be an experience that he was never going to forget, but he was sure he had made the right decision by accepting to go. It would be a nice change of scenery. He looked up to the monk now, waiting for what would be next.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by Kaitou_Dark_Sama Thu Aug 12, 2010 3:12 pm

Roy turned and looked at each of the other benders as they said who they were, pulling his eyes away from the Firebender Lark his eyes fell onto the other Firbender Ridge, he didn’t look half bad, his hair seemed very cliched for a Firebender which Roy couldn’t help but find slightly amusing. He looked at the other three before sighing, he glanced at Lark again for a moment before looking down at the ground. These looked like people he could deal with for the most part.

Lark looked down at the ground but knew that that Roy guys eyes were locked on him, it was quite awkward. He bit his lip lightly but tried to keep his face serious for the most part as the others introduced themselves. He had loved how the first four had been able to go in the Avatar resurrection cycle while they introduced themselves: Air, Water, Earth then Fire…but these next four didn’t go in order and it was rather annoying to someone who didn’t like seeing anything other than perfection, someone who grew up within a royal family. He huffed slightly and shook his head as they finished with introducing themselves and looked up at the monk who had summoned them all here glad to see that the Waterbender who shared his last name was no longer staring at him.

The monk looked at all of the young people as they introduced themselves, he nodded and smiled to each in turn before sighing and looking up at the ceiling. Kyoufuu knew that he was about to launch into a long winded speech and couldn’t help but roll his eyes and look off to the side, shuffling his feet slightly as he did so. Roy looked down at him with a cocked eyebrow but said nothing to him and just looked back up at the monk. “Alright, you, 8 were chosen because of your talents, and will help the world by ridding it of this rebel force. It is lead by 2 men, a Firebender from the Fire nation capital, a descendent of Admiral Zhao and a man from Ba Sing Se. Their locations now though, are unknown. These two are incredibly powerful and have many soldiers at their disposal.” He started. He sighed as he looked back down at the eight, his gaze drifting over all of them, “You have surely heard of the death of the latest Avatar…this was of course done by this rebel group, they are targeting the Avatar because they believe that it is not right for one person from one nation to hold as much power as the Avatar has…even though the Avatar, as most know is our bridge to the Spirit World, it keeps the entire planet in sync. The Avatar in itself represents unity, not power.” He paused for a moment before speaking again, “But of course, your mission is not to take down the entire group. No, for now, the eight of you are to hunt down the next Avatar and find him or her before the rebels do.”

“Well…the last Avatar was a Water Bender right…so the next one should be an Earth Bender…” Lark said looking at the ground then back up at the monk, “Right?” he asked his blue eyebrows slightly furrowed together. The monk nodded.

“Whoa, whoa, but didn’t the last Avatar die nearly 9 years ago?” Roy asked shaking his head and hands, not completely understanding why they were just being assembled now.
“Yes…but it is around the time when the Avatar will be found among the youth in their respective nation. It will not be announced though, not with so many people hunting for the Avatar, so I am sorry to say that you will have to go to most of the Earth Nation cities to try and find the Avatar.” The monk said shaking his head. Roy sighed not liking the sound of having to go through the whole of the Earth Nation, the largest spanning nation, to find one kid. It would be like finding a needle in a haystack. “Now you will leave tomorrow, for today we have arranged rooms for you to stay in. You will share with the person who you will probably see as a partner, the one who shares your element. I hope you do not see that as a problem, there are enough beds here for each of you to have your own don’t worry. Now do any of you have any questions?” he asked looking around at all of them.

“Can I not stay in my own room?” Kyoufuu asked glaring at the monk a frown on his face as he fiddled with the ring in the bridge of his nose, obviously not pleased with the idea of sharing a room with anyone.

“No you can’t, this is a great chance for you to get to know another of the group that you will be travelling with, it’s something that you in particular should start doing Kyou, I don’t want you to be a hindrance.” The monk said with a sharp look down at the very short Airbender who was completely taken aback. “Now, any other questions?”

Lark looked at the monk to the people around him his gaze resting on the Waterbender who had the same hair colour as he did to the man he would be sharing his room with, Ridge had been his name. Then to the monk, he had no questions, and he was sure that out of everyone he grasped all that had been said the most. He didn’t mean to be cocky, but it wasn’t like he was going to say anything out loud, maybe it was just an effect of living with his hot headed and cocking brother for so many years.

Roy didn’t have any questions. He looked over at the Waterbender he would be sharing his room with; he was kind of disappointed that he wouldn’t be sharing a room with either of the Firebender, because both of them had attracted his attention, he didn’t really know what to think of Lark…but he just had this feeling about him, a rather familiar feeling, but he couldn’t place it. Ridge just looked like someone he could definitely get along with and he would love to get to know him more. But there was plenty of time for ‘getting to know’ the other during the rest of this journey.

Azami looked at the floor and didn’t say anything the entire time, she was pretty sure she understood what was going on, she wasn’t sure she liked the idea of having to share a room though, let alone with a guy. She was rather insecure she couldn’t help but be worried about it in the long run.

Kyoufuu sighed angrily as he turned and walked off, “Whatever, old man, I’m leaving, this is all seriously pissing me off.” He stated as he headed up to the tower he had been in before everyone had started to arrive, he didn’t know why the hell he had been chosen for this it was not in his character and not something he wanted to do at all.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by RippedNose Thu Aug 12, 2010 7:18 pm

Ridge looked each person over carefully as they finished introducing themselves, giving out appreciative glances where they were necessary. His eyes lingered slightly longer on the two benders with the same last names, which confused him slightly, but he shrugged it off, despite their similar looks. It was probably just a fluke. Both of them had good looks, which was the main thing that caused his gaze to linger, longer on the Waterbender, who looked more lax than the Firebender. They both had an unusual hair and eye colour. Blue hair and purple eyes. Not something he had seen before, but it was a nice look. Certainly interesting enough. He looked up at the monk as he started to speak again, listening to what they were supposed to be doing. He didn’t have much of an idea. He had been more preoccupied with his food when he was at home, and he hadn’t bothered to ask questions.

Kaia still had her arms crossed as she surveyed the people there. So there was only one other girl. She hoped the guys there wouldn’t be immature idiots like she so expected. Lark, the Firebender didn’t look like he was. He seemed quite intelligent. She looked at the other Airbender. He had hair grown out over his tattoo, covering the arrow on his head. And what looked like two piercings, but there could be more that she couldn’t see. He didn’t seem to be the type to enjoy this kind of thing. He already looked pissed off. She moved her attention to the monk as he started explaining, which she listened to eagerly. She was excited for the actual thing to start. She was ready to get going.

Cypress was pretty sure he was understanding most of this, thinking it over as the monk finished speaking and a few of the people started asking questions. Sure, one of them hadn’t exactly been about the reason they were there, but close enough. He looked at the Earthbender he would be sharing a room with. He didn’t really care. It didn’t bother him. He was fine with the whole ‘searching the Earth Nations cities’ thing, since it was where he was from, but at the same time, he was well aware of how long that would take, unless they found the kid on the first few stops.

Ashton listened carefully to the monk, absorbing as many details as he could. This was an important job, and he couldn’t afford to miss any of this. He was sure half the people there weren’t paying attention to the monk as much as they were to the other benders. He was about to ask about the same thing as Roy, but the other Waterbender beat him to it, which was fine with him. He would rather other people spoke for him most of the time. Finding the Avatar sounded difficult, but he was sure that they could pull it off, no matter how rough the ride might get. He turned his attention to the man he was to be sharing a room with before looking away quickly. He was fine with it, but at the same time he was going to find it a bit awkward sharing a room with somebody he didn’t know. But he supposed that was the point. They were supposed to get to know each other.

Kaia raised an eyebrow when the other Airbender, Kyoufuu, asked if he could sleep in his own room. “Go right ahead” she muttered under her breath, not really caring if anyone else could hear. She wasn’t sure whether to be relieved or insulted. He didn’t seem like a pleasant person, but she had no idea what his reasons were for wanting to not share a room. Sure, he lived there, but still. She had no idea if it had anything to do with her. She shrugged, not really caring either way. She was sure he wouldn’t be doing much talking, so his presence wouldn’t bother her unless he decided to be rude. Then there might be some ass-kicking in order.

Ridge looked at Lark and smirked, liking the idea of sharing a room with him. He would have been perfectly fine if they only had one bed, so he definitely wasn’t worrying. He was glad he had gotten the opportunity to room with one of the two people he had been eyeing in particular. Sure, it was the less outgoing looking of the two, but he didn’t mind. He had no idea how well they would get along, but he got along with most people very well. He was going to have to talk to the other blue-haired boy later. He was sure that there was going to be enough time for that. He raised an eyebrow as one of the Airbenders left, apparently pissed off. He was slightly surprised at how disrespectful he had acted towards the monk, but he shrugged it off. “. . . What now?” he asked, directing his eyes back to the man in charge here. He was curious as to where they would be sleeping. Starting out in the morning sounded like a good idea to him, as long as it wasn’t too early.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by Kaitou_Dark_Sama Fri Aug 13, 2010 7:44 am

The monk watched as Kyoufuu walked off but made no move to stop him. At nearly the same instant a few Airbenders walked in, “Ah, right, well follow these men, they will lead you to your rooms.” He said motioning to the four men who had walked in. “You will all have views of the surrounding area, truly astounding mountainsides, I’m sure you’ll love them.”

“And most importantly…no snow.” Roy said with a laugh as he walked towards the Airbenders, a smile plastered on his face. He was sure the rest would follow him but it was just in his character to be the one out in front. He was pretty sure he heard a sigh or maybe more the one from the other benders as he headed out in front and followed the Airbenders out into the courtyard. He couldn’t help but admire the scenery. There were little Airbenders playing around not far off, but they stopped as they noticed the rather large group of teenagers in clothes from different nations. They all looked so interested in them, Roy found it amusing. He laughed slightly and took a flask of water out the small bag hanging off his hip. He opened it and drew it out with a couple fingers, with one hand started making shapes before sending it out over the heads of the young ones and letting bits fall onto them, they couldn’t stop laughing. He got a stern look from the blue haired Firebender and he frowned as he drew the water back into his flask and put it back in his bag, sticking his nose up into the air.

Lark didn’t find this Roy guys fooling around very funny despite how much the children did. He looked down at the ground in front of him, “Idiot…” he couldn’t help saying underneath his breath. He already sort of missed the Fire Nation but he knew this was no time for that. He pushed his hair out of his face just to let it fall back exactly where it had been before.

Azami looked around, she couldn’t help but look up at Roy and smile at his antics, she thought it was cute that he was so willing to entertain the children, it was something she would have done…if she weren’t so shy, she didn’t it often with the children in her village and she was going to guess that this Roy did similar things back where he lived…He had said the South Pole right? She looked back at Lark as Roy stopped playing with the water but didn’t keep her eyes lingering on the rather fierce looking Firebender, though he could only look fierce to her because he was of such high authority and she could feel the sort of powerful aura coming off of him. She looked over at the kids who looked rather disappointed, she felt kind of bad especially with how they followed the 7 of them as though expecting something more. She wasn’t one to put on a show…but she felt like she had to do something for them. She hit the ground hard with one foot and a few palm sized pieces of stone flew up in front of her and she started juggling them without touching them. Roy, who she was walking just behind, looked over his shoulder at her, he smiled kindly at her and she smiled back but couldn’t help but blush slightly. The kids were rather interested again at least until they had to go inside and Azami dropped the rocks, her face had heated up slightly from the attention but she was fine for the most part, it wasn’t like Lark was giving her a death stare as well.

Inside they were led to a hall with two rooms on either side, each baring the symbol of the elements. The Airbenders motioned to the rooms and then walked off leaving the benders to fend for themselves. Lark headed right into the Fire room not wanting to have to really encounter Roy. He was surprised at how nicely it was decorated, it seemed as though they had actually put the Fire Nation in mind when they designed the room, everything was red, black and gold, the Fire nations main colours and very lovely. Lark skipped past the beds to the window with black curtains which were pulled back and showed an amazing view as the monk had said, he sat down on the ledge and looked out over the landscape, his mind no longer here but back in the Fire Nation.

Roy looked around before heading into Water room unable to help but brush against Ridge’s arm on his way, he smirked as he walked in and headed immediately to one of the beds just to fall down and sigh. He smiled again as he looked up at the ceiling. “This is going to be fun.” He stated with a laugh. He noticed that everything was blue and white; it felt sort of like home, just a lot warmer, a thought that made him laugh.

Azami pushed her hair out of her face as she walked quickly into the Earth marked room once inside she couldn’t help but have her eyes scan everything not really knowing what to do she chewed slightly at her lips before sitting down at the edge of one of the beds, fiddling with her hair and looking down at the floor not sure what to say or do now. This other Earthbender was probably much more talented then she was and she was probably soon going to find out that she didn’t really have the skill or power to be on this journey. Though she could do something a lot of Earthbenders couldn’t do, and that was bend soft dirt and sand, but that was all that was different about her and other Earthbenders.

Kyoufuu stayed up in top of his little tower not wanting to be bothered or bother anyone. The surrounding area was so nice how could he not love it up here, it was his ticket away from everyone and everything but the air, the one thing he really didn’t mind. He didn’t want to head back down yet, hell, he didn’t ever want to head back down and he definitely didn’t want to have to go on this stupid journey they were supposed to be going on.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Kaia looked up as more Airbenders walked in, apparently on cue. Follow them? Easy enough. She followed the other benders, walking near the middle of the group, checking out the scenery as she went. Little Airbenders playing around made her smile slightly. It reminded her a bit of her brother when he was younger, before he went crazy. She did love the mountains, as the monk had said, but didn’t spend much time looking at them. She focused on the few benders who were showing off for the children. She knew they were all supposed to be strong benders, but she had no idea how strong exactly everyone was. It would be interesting to find out.

Ridge shrugged as the monk explained, and he moved to follow the Airbenders, near the front of the group. It didn’t surprise him to see that Roy had been the first one to move. He looked around as they moved, looking at the kids they were passing. He laughed slightly at the Waterbending Roy did for the little Airbenders. He raised an eyebrow at the look that Lark gave him, and the muttered insult. Then he noticed the Earthbender girl- Azami?- juggling earth without touching it. He grinned, feeling the need to join in this little show. He made a tongue of flame on a nearby torch form the shape of a dragon and fly over the children, doing barrel rolls and somersaults in the air. As they neared the building he let the flame dragon do a final loop before curling up and becoming nothing but a wisp of smoke. He walked inside, not caring if he got any looks from Lark, which he didn’t.

Ashton put his hands in his pockets, following everybody else. He only half agreed with Roy’s enjoyment of no snow. Sure, it was nice to see what everything was like without it, but he did love the snow. Snow was home. He watched the bending of the others for the amusements of the local children. It was interesting to see what the three of them each came up with as little tricks. He briefly wondered what he would add to that, if he had any desire to do. Which he really didn’t, but it was still something to think about. He walked inside after the others, looking around as he did. He looked at the door with the water symbol on it, following after Roy and sitting down on the bed that wasn’t currently occupied, not exactly knowing what to do now. This was going to be fun? He didn’t know if that was the word he would use, but he was sure it would be exciting at some times. The room was nice, in blues and whites, as if it had been designed for the two Waterbenders.

Cypress put his hands behind his head and looked up at the sky while he walked, checking out the scenery for a moment before back to the sky. He didn’t even notice the water, earth, and fire bending that three of his comrades were doing for the amusement of the little Airbenders. He dropped his hands and looked around when they walked inside, looking at the symbols on the doors. “Awesome” he said a bit brightly, following the shy looking Earthbender girl into the room. It was about time he got access to a bed. He walked to the empty one and practically fell backwards, letting out a content sigh as he settled down. “Hey. So I guess we’re going to be sharing a room from now on. Sup?” he addressed Azami, crossing his arms behind his head again and turning to look at her.

Kaia went straight for the Air room, opening the door and walking inside, closing it after her. It was nice, reminding her a bit of home. But it wasn’t surprising, seeing where she was. She had no idea that each of the rooms were designed to accommodate the young benders. “I wonder how long I’ll get this room to myself?” she mused quietly, grinning and selecting the bed closer to the window, throwing herself down on it on her stomach and closing her eyes, sighing. This was already proving to be an interesting journey. She was hoping to fall asleep now, and maybe the morning would come quickly and they could leave.

Ridge felt someone brush against his arm. He turned to see Roy, catching a hint of a smirk on his face. He returned the expression, smirking and walking into the Fire room. This was definitely going to be interesting, and he was looking forward to it. Looking at Lark standing by the window, he selected a bed, lying down on it and stretching out, getting a satisfying crack from a few of his joints. “Hey, Roommate” he greeted Lark with a grin. He had no idea how the other Firebender would react to the greeting, but he didn’t care. It would most likely be amusing to him. He didn’t expect a positive response, from what he had seen of this man already.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by Kaitou_Dark_Sama Fri Aug 13, 2010 3:19 pm

Roy sat up and looked at Ashton, “So what do you think of the others?” Roy couldn’t help to ask. He was very curious; he personally didn’t know what to think of most of them. Azami seemed way to shy, this Ashton guy as well as Kaia and Cypress hadn’t said much of anything the entire time, Lark…well…Roy wasn’t sure what was up with Lark and it hurt his head a little bit to think about it, so he dropped it quickly and Ridge…He had a good feeling about that Firebender and he knew he would make this whole thing worthwhile if anything. Then there was that Kyoufuu kid who just up and left like that, Roy hoped he wasn’t going to be like that the entire time he was with them. Roy pulled all of his hair back behind his shoulders, sometimes he couldn’t help but find this incredibly long hair annoying but he lived with it because of how gorgeous a colour it was and how it so amazingly suited a Waterbender then…his thoughts drifted back to Lark who shared his name and his hair colour…and his eye colour for that matter which was also strange. Again he decided to force the thoughts out of his head as he looked back at Ashton and waited for an answer, but decided to add a quick, “If you don’t know what to think I understand cuz I don’t have a clue either really.” He said with a laugh.

Azami watched as Cypress came into the room and fell down on the other bed. She chewed at her lips slightly and quickly looked away from him, she didn’t want it to seem like she was staring even though she wasn’t, or at least she didn’t mean to, it wasn’t like she meant anything by it or not. She just found this all incredibly awkward and had no idea what to do. She jumped slightly when he spoke to her, she looked at him and saw he was looking at her and she looked back down at the floor again, “Y-yeah, um, not much… uh… so, wh-what do you think of this place?” She asked looking back up at him trying to make conversation not wanting to seem as antisocial as she really was. She glanced out the window on the other side of the room at the mountain side, it wasn’t unfamiliar though, Omashu was surrounded by mountains as well, in a place like Ba Sing Se though, a landscape like this would be much stranger, living with a wall around the city. She didn’t want to make a bad impression on all of these people already, she didn’t seem to be doing to badly with that at least the Roy guy seemed to like her.

Lark looked over his shoulder as he was spoken to, “Hello.” He said with a sigh before looking back out the window. After a moment though he looked away again and sat down on one of the beds facing Ridge, “You said you were from Ember Island, right? I did not realize that people lived there. I thought it was just a resort, my family has a house there.” He said with a smile. He had already told everyone that he was the Fire Lord’s grandson so he was just hoping that he would get the respect he did deserve; though he didn’t want to be cocky so he decided he would give this respect deal a break and just try to get along well with the rest of the benders who were here. His smile was friendly enough as he flicked his hair out of his face more. He looked Ridge over once quickly his purple coloured eyes barely moving as he looked him over. He wasn’t sure what to think of him at the moment, but he was sure he would have an impression of him soon enough.

“Go down and say hello to your roommate Kyou.” A voice stated from behind the young Airbender he couldn’t help but sigh as he looked over his shoulder at his teacher. He glared rather fiercely and his gaze followed the rather old man as he sat down next to Kyoufuu. “You are going to be travelling with these people for a long time. Don’t you think it is in your best interest to not have them think you are well…A bit of a brat?” He said shaking his head, Kyoufuu’s glare only intensified at the words; he was already sick and tired of all these people he had known for years talking down about him. The monk looked back at him until he sighed and stood up.

“Fine whatever. I’ll do what you want, like I always have to do.” He glared at the old man before jumping off the tower again and landing with a burst of air to cushion himself. He headed down to where he knew they would have the guests located. He saw the rooms with the nation symbols on them and looked at each one in turn before walking into the one with the symbol for Air. He looked at the girl sprawled out on one of the beds before lying down on the other. “I’m sure you don’t want to talk to me, I don’t want to talk to you, so let’s just leave each other alone alright?” he said glancing at her for a moment with a frown before looking up at the ceiling figuring that that was that.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by RippedNose Fri Aug 13, 2010 5:52 pm

Ashton looked up when he was spoken to, only figuring that he was the one being talked to since he was the only other person in the room. Otherwise he would have thought it was somebody else being addressed. People rarely spoke to him, other than his family. He was silent for a moment, thinking about it, before smiling slightly. “Yeah, I don’t really know. Everyone’s different I guess. Um. . . Kyoufuu seems. . . angry? Azami looks shy. . . Ridge seems outgoing. . . And I don’t know about any of the others” he shrugged, looking up at the ceiling. Lark seemed like a bit of a perfectionist from what he had seen so far, but he figured it would be rude to say so. He didn’t know about any of the others though. It would be interesting to get to know them, since they all seemed okay, except for Kyoufuu, he had to admit, he just wasn’t the kind of person he would enjoy socializing with. “I suppose we’ll know in a few days though. Getting to know people takes a while normally” he looked down from the ceiling, realizing that this was the most he’d said since he left home.

Cypress grinned slightly as Azami stuttered out an answer. She seemed shy, and he was okay with that. But he wasn’t going to let her sit there and be quiet the entire time. It would get pretty boring. He figured she would get more comfortable after talking for a while anyways. “Well it’s definitely different. No giant ass walls here. It seems. . . relaxing. There are no little kids here trying to kill me every time I walk out my front door. I like the mountains. They’re pretty cool, and definitely not what I’m used to. What about you? You’re from Omashu right? I’ve never been there” he glanced out the window once he finished talking. It was really nice here. He knew they weren’t going to be there for very long, but he liked it. It seemed quite mellow. And for him, that was the perfect setting. This trip would hopefully have plenty of relaxing time, like while they were travelling, but he knew there would be some work involved. He looked back to Azami, waiting for her to answer.

Ridge grinned when Lark answered, pleased that he was actually making conversation. He would have died if the person he would be living with wouldn’t talk to him. “Yeah, it’s mostly a resort, but there’s a handful of people who actually live there. It’s pretty sweet” he replied, grinning. “Now you’re the Fire lord’s adoptive grandson, right?” he asked, having to think about that one for a moment, but he was pretty sure he had gotten it right. “Does that mean I have to call you ‘Your Highness’ or something?” he laughed, rolling onto his side to face Lark. He had no idea how many jibes he normally received for that one, but he didn’t seem like the type who was made fun of all the time. He seemed like the type to hold his position well and not take crap from people who tried to make fun of him. It would be interesting to get to know him, to see what he was really like. Getting to know people was what he was mostly looking forward to. He loved meeting new people, and it happened often, since where he lived was mostly packed with tourists, but that also meant he didn’t spend much time with them.

Kaia sighed, making herself comfortable on the unfamiliar bed. It was nicer than her one at home, and she couldn’t help but wonder how they would be sleeping for the rest of their journey. She wouldn’t be very happy if they didn’t get something comfortable at least every once and a while. Burying her face in her pillow, Kaia let her body relax, content with the current situation. This entire experience was likely to be exciting. Well, she was sure there was bound to be SOME boring times, but whatever. She stiffened slightly when she heard the door open, and she glanced over to see the other Airbender walking in, not looking very happy. She rolled her eyes. She raised her eyebrows when he said that they should ignore each other. “Well I was going to anyways, but you didn’t have to be a little bitch about it” she muttered, rolling over to face the other direction, not caring one bit if he heard her. He was supposed to be ignoring her anyways, so it shouldn’t matter to him. He was going to be a joy to live with, she could tell already. But if he kept up this attitude he was going to be cussed out at least once.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by Kaitou_Dark_Sama Fri Aug 13, 2010 6:49 pm

Roy let Ashton talk nodding a couple times in agreement. “Yeah what was with that Kyoufuu kid…he seems like he’s going to be a bit of a pain.” Roy said with a laugh. “Ridge seems to be a pretty talented Firebender…I wonder how that grandson of the Fire Lord, Lark, is at Firebending, you’d have to assume he’s pretty good though.” Roy said shaking his head. “I’m looking forward to all of this; we sure are going to be one interesting pack of benders.” He said shaking his head pulling his feet up and taking off his boots. “So…are you any good at healing with Waterbending, because I’m not…my grandma tried to teach me a long time ago but it didn’t turn out very well. I end up just freezing the dummy.” He said with a laugh, “But the Northern Water Tribe actually has teachers for that…or is it just for girls…” he was incredibly curious as to how the other nations worked, he had lived in the South Pole for as long as he could remember and it was pretty relaxed there, up until you turn 14 you just hang around and do whatever you want, Roy was partial to penguin sledding. After 14 they got actual responsibilities and had to do stuff, not that Roy did, even now, into his late teens he slacked off much more then he should have.

Azami knew she wasn’t going to get out of a conversation no matter what but she guessed that wasn’t a bad thing, she had to learn to be more social anyways and besides she had started this leg of the conversation and she couldn’t just ignore him now. She nodded where it was appropriate as Cypress spoke. “Well, Omashu has a bit of a wall too…but it’s built on top of a mountain…and the security isn’t as strict…” she paused for a moment as she thought a bit more, she knew she was talking rather softly and slowly, but it was just how she was, she didn’t often talk this much, “I’m actually…the leaders granddaughter…but that’s nothing special…he’s not all that powerful outside of the city…I’ve been working with the city delivery system for a couple years now.” She said with a shrug figuring that was about all she had to add. She wasn’t trembling like she normally did when she talked to someone she didn’t know which was an improvement, but maybe she was talking too much, she didn’t want to seem weird so she shut her mouth and looked down at her hands in her lap and chewed at her lip, but leaving her hair alone, which was something she often played with when she was nervous.

“Yes I am.” Lark said with a nod as Ridge asked if he was the Fire Lord’s grandson. He smirked lightly at the ‘your highness’ title being thrown out there but shook his head, “That is not necessary. There is nothing about me that deserves such a title.” Lark briefly wondered whether or not Ridge had been making fun of him with that quip but decided to ignore that possibility. He looked out the window for a moment before back at Ridge, he had to say something that had been on his mind pretty much since he got here. His face became a bit more serious, a small frown finding its way onto his pale features, “What is your impression of that Waterbender, Roy?” he asked looking off to the side for a moment. “Something about him is bothering me and I am not sure exactly what it is.” He added more under his breath and more to himself but still loud enough for Ridge to hear, he didn’t know what he was expecting as an answer to the question but he was curious all the same.

Kyou sat up as he heard what Kaia said, with an affinity for air hearing stuff like that was simple enough, as a fellow Airbender she should have known he would be able to hear her whispering to herself. “I seriously don’t want to have to put up with you…I have HAD IT with people insulting me today!” he said loudly. “If you’re going to talk to someone speak up, it’s rude you know.” He stated with a frown. He had already been pissed off but he didn’t want to have to deal with this now as well. He wondered he would be able to request to change rooms, there had been a couple others who looked like they would keep to themselves and not insult him to themselves where he could very obviously hear them. He couldn’t help but clink his tongue ring against his teeth, something he did when he was relatively aggravated and was holding his tongue. He continued to glare at her though he did have a feeling that she would snap at him he didn’t care he was up for an argument he needed to get this angry out somehow how better then yelling at some person he barely knew but would be having to share a living space for who knows how long.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by RippedNose Fri Aug 13, 2010 8:19 pm

Ashton nodded in agreement, thinking about it. Kyoufuu would be a bit of a pain to have around, he had to admit. “Yeah, he probably is, being the grandson of the Fire Lord” he shrugged, pulling his legs onto the bed and getting more comfortable. Roy was surprisingly easy to talk to. “Well, I’ve got the basics down, but other than that I’m not much of a help. Girls are mainly the ones taught, but a few guys are too” he explained, shrugging. “So if anyone’s on the brink of death neither of us will be much of a help I guess” he shook his head, some of his hair falling in his eyes. He could heal a little bit, but anything more than that it didn’t turn out as well as it should. “You don’t actually have teachers for healing at the South Pole?” he asked, tilting his head to the side. He didn’t know much about the Southern Water Tribe, and he had never been there, so he had no idea. He was a bit curious, but he wasn’t one to ask too many questions. He was doing it mainly for the sake of the conversation at this point.

Cypress was glad that she was actually conversing with him. It was nice to get to know somebody like this. It kind of added to the experience. Going on a journey, making new friends and enemies, getting a few injuries, it all fell into the same thing here. It was just how it would turn out. “Really? That’s pretty cool. Am I the only one here who doesn’t have some crazy high political standing?” he asked jokingly, running his fingers through his hair as he recalled Lark’s introduction. Grandson of the Fire Lord, Granddaughter of the leader of Omashu. He wondered if anybody else had a connection like that. He was pretty low down, not even living with his parents. “It’d be cool to visit Omashu. I guess we will be though, right?” he asked, thinking about what the monk had said about visiting all of the Earth Nation villages. Azami seemed more comfortable in their conversation than she had been at the beginning, but he was sure she was still a bit nervous. Cypress didn’t care enough about what people thought to be nervous or shy like that. He didn’t care much about most things, but like everybody else he did have certain things that he loved.

Ridge nodded when the response was in the positive. So he was pretty high up there. Well, almost as high up as you could get. He grinned. “You sure? Well if you find something that makes you deserve it, let me know, ‘kay?” he joked, flipping his head to the side to rid his eyes of his hair, which only lasted a moment. When Lark looked back at him with a rather serious look on his face, Ridge raised an eyebrow. “Roy? Well he seemed cool. Why?” he replied, ending in a question. He wondered why they looked so much alike, and had the same last name, but seemed to not know each other, and hailed from different nations. It was strange, and he assumed the two of them were thinking over it as well. Something was bothering him? He thought that would have been obvious, but apparently not. "Is it because you’ve got the same last name? And you two do look alike. . .” he looked up at the ceiling for a moment, wondering what this thing was that was bothering him if it wasn’t the obvious. This was all turning out more confusing than he expected. Were they long lost brothers or something? It would definitely be an interesting twist for the two of them, he was sure.

Kaia turned her head to look at him again when he started speaking, tempted to be a smart-ass and ask why he wasn’t ignoring her, but he decided against it. She sat up and glared at him, crossing her arms. “Well if you don’t want to deal with this, you shouldn’t have been rude in the first place” she shot back, narrowing her eyes. “You want me to speak up? I can start yelling if you want” she tossed her hair back. It wasn’t very long, but it was long enough to get in her way. “If you don’t want people insulting you, maybe you shouldn’t be such a brat. It can be avoided you know” she could tell that she was just going to get along so damn well with this kid. He needed an attitude adjustment. She could hear something hitting against his teeth, and assumed that he had another piercing there. His entire appearance said that he was rebellious, so she should have known from the start that she was going to be stuck with an asshole for a partner. “Now I’d suggest you don’t piss me off too much, or I might just kick your ass. And remember, you’re stuck with me. I have to admit, your first impression wasn’t too great” she sighed and leaned back against her pillows, turning her glare on the ceiling now.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by Kaitou_Dark_Sama Sun Aug 15, 2010 8:29 pm

Roy nodded and looked off to the side wondering what it was like at the North Pole, he had only heard food things about it, apparently it was much, much larger and much, much nicer then the South Pole, which he didn’t doubt. “Hmm…no we don’t. We actually don’t have any teachers what so ever to be honest. If you can Waterbend there are only one or two people who would be able to teach you. There was a time when there was only one Waterbender in our tribe, there are a few more now, but only a few, like… 10.” He thought about the number for a minute before laughing sure that Aston would find it a ridiculously small number especially if the North Pole was as grand as he had been told. “I know, that number must be tiny to a Northern Tribe Waterbender like you. I’ve never really left the South Pole before but a lot of the older people in my tribe grew up in the Northern Water Tribe so I’ve heard plenty of stories.” He said with a smile, he was proud of his little tribe, it had lots of stories and a great past at least and Roy couldn’t help but be slightly upset at the fact that he hadn’t been born there, but he had given up wondering where he had been born a long time ago.

Azami laughed slightly as she rubbed the back of her neck and continued to look down at the ground still feeling rather awkward in this conversation, even in this room. “I’m sure it’s only Lark and myself… not like my standing is nearly as high as his.” She didn’t really know whether to be intimidated by Lark or to respect him, he didn’t seem like that bad of a guy…just a little… strict. She listened and thought about Cypress’s next statement. She took a moment before looking up at him, “Yeah I guess we will be…I doubt the Avatar would be in Omashu though…I don’t know why…just, I’m pretty sure my grandfather would have told me if he knew…” she said with a shrug, her voice still very quiet. She couldn’t help but wonder how long it would take them to find the Avatar if they had to search over the entire Earth Nation, which was by far the largest of the 4 with the Air and Water nations being the smallest and Fire and Earth being the largest, the size of them having everything to do with the power and number of benders at each nations control. But things like that had been decided a long time ago and whatever she thought would have no effect no matter.

Lark shook his head knowing that something like that would never happen, it wasn’t possible for him to take over as the Fire Lord anyways not only because his brother was older than him by a few months but he wasn’t blood related to the royal family and had no right to inherit the throne. Lark had been about to answer the question as to why he had asked the question, which he would say he didn’t get the right answer to considering he thought the context to be more obvious then it was apparently, asking what Ridge brought up next, which for some reason seemed to bother Lark a lot more when someone else said it instead of just having the thoughts running through his head, because this meant that it couldn’t be that he was just being paranoid, something was up with Roy and he had no idea what it was and it was really starting to worry him, “Yes, it is really bothering me, but it would seem impossible for us to be related or anything like that. He grew up in a water tribe and on top of that is a skilful Waterbender and I am a Firebender. That just does not happen.” Lark said shaking his head but bringing his knees to his chest and wrapping his arms around them looking at the wall instead of Ridge as he mulled over the possibility of the two of them being related. “What do you make of it all?” Lark asked, wanting another person’s opinion again just to see if he was being paranoid again or not.

Kyoufuu’s glare would have intensified if it could, but he was at the extent of his anger, or at least what could be shown on his face. He let Kaia talk without saying anything, though he started to shake in frustration as she did. When she finished talking he got up and walked towards the window, “Fine, you obviously don’t want me around, I’ll go stay in my room.” He said stepping onto the window sill with one last sharp look back at Kaia. He jumped out the window and landed not that far down just to brace himself to run up the wall and into the window of his own room much higher up in the temple. Upon entering his room he took out all his frustration with Airbending against the solid stone wall. He growled slightly as he slipped into his bed and lay on his side glaring at the wall knowing he was going to hate this experience more than anything: more than being an Airbender, more than the annoying monks, more than being forced to become a monk. These were all people he would probably not be able to get along with and he knew that and he hated it.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Ashton tilted his head to the side while he listened, a bit surprised with the information. He knew the South Pole was a lot smaller, but he didn’t realize it was that small. “Really? Wow. That’s weird. . . it’s gotta be tough learning to bend without a proper teacher. Isn’t it?” he asked, brushing some of his hair out of his eyes. “Only 10? Seriously? That is kind of tiny. No offense” he grinned slightly. He didn’t think he would be able to count the number of Waterbenders in the Northern Water Tribe. “I’ve never left the North Pole either. I knew the Southern Water Tribe was supposed to be smaller, but that’s smaller than I thought. It’d be cool to live there though. Do you know like everybody there?” he asked, lying back on his bed, getting more comfortable. He hadn’t spoken this much in a long time. People didn’t normally have conversations with him, since he didn’t tend to talk much. But when people did talk to him, he was normally fairly quiet. But Roy was easy to talk to, and it would be good to get to know the person he would be sharing a room with for this entire trip.

Cypress smiled slightly, shrugging. “Still pretty awesome. But I’m hoping you’re right. I don’t want to be the only person here without some political standing. It would kinda suck” he stretched his legs out for a moment, looking up at the ceiling. “Hmm. . . there’s no telling where the Avatar could be. This whole thing will take a long time” he voiced the thoughts he was sure everybody else there was thinking. It was going to take a long time to find the Avatar, but it would be pretty worth it to go on this journey. “I’m looking forward to the travelling though. I’ve never seen the world outside the giant walls of Ba Sing Se. I’m already amazed” he grinned, glancing out the window. He was sure that the scenery would change every different place they went, and it would be rather interesting to see. “I wish I had somebody who would just tell me things like that. Does your grandfather tell you a lot then?” he was assuming he did, but you never know. It must have been pretty cool to know things like that, that were going on in the city. Or even the world. He only knew things like that that were common knowledge.

Ridge thought about it, not really liking the confusing turn that the conversation had taken. He had no idea what was really going on with Roy and Lark, but it was probably nothing, if you thought about it. “Yeah, I guess. It’s probably some strange coincidence, not some retarded twist of fate. Things like that don’t usually happen, you’re right” he shrugged, looking up at the ceiling, thinking about it. “You might be distantly related or something, but it’s not very likely. I doubt you’re actually related, even if you look it. If you were though, I think it’d be pretty awesome. I’d love to have a brother, or even cousins or something. I’ve got an extremely small family. I honestly think it’s just my mom and dad and I” he looked back to Lark. “You shouldn’t let it bother you. It’s probably nothing, and I’m sure you’ll have much more to worry about than that soon” he laughed slightly, running a hand through his hair. “So what’s your family like? Any siblings?” he asked, tilting his head to the side slightly. He was genuinely curious. Sure, since he was adopted it wasn’t his technical family, but it was still family.

Kaia could see that Kyoufuu was shaking now, and she found it gave her a bit of satisfaction, ignoring the fact that he was hot-headed anyways, so it wasn’t much of an accomplishment. She raised an eyebrow as he walked to the window. “Good, asshole” she replied before he jumped out the window. She flipped off the general direction she was sure he was in. She knew he knew his way around this place, since he lived there, so she didn’t stop to wonder where he was going. He obviously knew where his destination was. “I can’t believe I have to deal with this the entire time. He really needs an attitude adjustment” she muttered to herself, growling slightly and rolling over. At least the problem was gone. She was sure he would get in trouble in the morning, from that monk, but she honestly couldn’t care less. He deserved it, as far as she was concerned. He anger was slowly simmering down, but she was still irked that he had been so rude about it. He could have just not said anything at all when he came in, or at least pretended to be polite, or something!

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by Kaitou_Dark_Sama Thu Sep 30, 2010 4:17 pm

“No it wasn't hard, it just sort of came natural to me and my Gran is an amazing water bender. She taught me basics and I kinda developed from that...with her supervision of course.” Roy explained with a smile, he couldn't help but laugh at the reaction he got from Ashton, though he had been expecting him to be shocked at the numbers he was being given, if he were in his shoes he was sure he would be shocked too. “I know 10 is a small number and most of them are either really old, middle aged or little kids who can't really do much. I don't take any offence don't worry.” He said shaking his head his bright white smile far from leaving his pale face which still had the lightest of burns from back home on it. He reached up and took his hair out of the ornament his Gran had put it in. “Yeah, I know everyone, of course I do. You barely know me but you have to have guessed by now that I'm a very social person. There are maybe 100 people in the Southern Water Tribe and I know each of them by name.” He looked at the little ornament in his hand with a loving smile, running his thumbs over the symbols that adorned the beige wood. His Gran had painted this himself he set it down on the table next to him and looked at Ashton, pulling all his hair back and up before letting it go, letting it fall down to where it ended around the middle of his back. “And I'm guessing you could name maybe a tenth of the population of the North Pole, am I right?” he asked with a laugh.

Azami nodded slowly knowing it would take a long long time to go through the whole Earth Nation they could only hope that they found the Avatar earlier on in their journey. “Yeah, travelling should be fun, it's a bit scary though...everything is so different...and there's a group of people who are probably going to be after us...I mean the rebellion won't want us to find the Avatar right?” she said wringing the hem of her shirt looking down at the floor as she spoke then looking back up at Cypress. At the question of how much her grandfather told her though she lightened up and actually smiled, letting out a short laugh, “Yes, he tells me a lot, probably more then he should. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before it gets him in trouble.” she said with a large smile. She remembered how proud her grandfather had been with her when she went off with the Airbenders and she was suddenly looking forward to heading back to Omashu to see him again. “So do you think there's any chance the Avatar could be in Ba Sing Se?” she asked tilting her head to the side with the question.

Lark nodded as Ridge spoke finding his words relatively reassuring, he knew it wasn't likely that Roy was really related to him, there was no way he could be related to a Waterbender he let our a sigh and smiled, “Thank you for those words, I do feel much better now.” he said pushing his hair out of his face again looking at Ridge with kind but sharp violet eyes. He nodded as Ridge explained how his family was small, he didn't answer as he was asked what his family was like though, “Well...My father is very strict, he wants me and my brother to be as powerful as we can. He always says that my brother is just like Prince Zuko, our great grandfather and I believe that...my brother has quite the temper, it effects his fighting a great deal. My mother is very sickly, she had been since my brother was born.” he explained. He was fine with talking about his family out loud because it wasn't like he was saying things people didn't know. “Then there is my Grandfather, the Fire Lord...he is...exactly how you may have heard...” he found his grandfather to be a strange person, he liked to crack jokes and he never seemed to take anything seriously, though he always does, he is a smart man who knows more then Lark could ever hope to know in his life about Fire Bending about about the Fire Nation and the world itself. “Aside from that, there is not much more to say about my family that you do not already know I am sure.” He finished with a shrug. He liked being royalty, but he didn't like the invasion of privacy, though he had gotten used to it. “I know it must be very strange to you...but I am glad that you do not seem at all intimidated by me though my grandfather is the Fire Lord...you are one of the first. I have always been regarded with caution by everyone except my family and the people who serve us.” He finished looking at Ridge with a smile.

Kyoufuu couldn't sleep he found himself far to pissed off to even try, but at least no stupid monks were bothering him this time around, he was pretty sure none of them knew he was here anyways, but when they did find out he was sure they would be pissed off at him for disobeying them and going off to his own room. He didn't like Kaia though and there was no way he was sharing a room with her. He was glad though knowing that they would be taking two bison on this journey he and her had to be on different animals because they were the only ones who would be able to fly them properly. He sighed at the thought knowing that he wouldn't have to spend that much time with her when they were in the air. He hoped that if he had to share a bison with anyone that it would be Lark, Ashton and Azami, they seemed like the only ones he would be able to deal with they seemed actually smart, he knew he wouldn't be able to deal with people like Roy and Ridge, he wasn't sure about Cypress though. He would just have to hope for the best. And with that he finally managed to drift off to sleep.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by RippedNose Mon Dec 06, 2010 1:06 pm

“Really? I can’t imagine trying to learn from somebody who isn’t a real teacher. But if she’s really talented I can understand mostly” Ashton was curious about this tribe, and he was hoping he would get to visit it some time, and learn how they lived their lives. He was sure he could learn a lot of that from Roy though. “Yeah? Our Waterbenders vary in ages completely” he wasn’t sure if the other had already guessed that, but he said it anyways. He laughed slightly at the idea of Roy being a very social person, which he had guessed almost right off the bat. “I know probably less than that. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m kind of antisocial. I don’t generally talk much, at all. I know maybe forty people by name” he was rather surprised he had been talking with Roy this long, but he figured it was because he was curious to get to know this bender, and what the other end of the world was like. He stuck his hand in his pocket, pulling out a length of braided string with a wooden bead on the end, that his sister had made him last year, and made him promise to always have it with him. He fiddled with it idly, looking to the ceiling. “What’s it look like at the South Pole?” he asked, turning to look at Roy. It couldn’t look much different from the North, could it? All he knew was that there was snow, in both places.

Cypress noted how nervous Azami looked when speaking about how there would be people after them. “Yeah, that’s true. But they might not know about us just yet, or be able to find us. But if they do, we’re the eight strongest benders around, right? I’m sure we’ll be fine” he shrugged, passing it off as not a big deal. He knew it would be dangerous, but he was confident in his own skills, and the ones of his seven companions, even if he hadn’t seen much of a demonstration. “Plus, we wouldn’t be sent off alone if people thought we wouldn’t be able to do it” he pointed out, unless they were just trying to get rid of the top benders of each nation, which didn’t seem very likely. He laughed slightly when Azami spoke about her grandfather, which seemed to be a topic she was happy with. “He tells you that much, eh?” Cypress asked with mild amusement. She really seemed to love her grandfather. He frowned slightly at the question, thinking about it for a moment. “Well, yeah, there’s a chance. I mean, I don’t know very many of the people there. I teach a group of kids, but outside the group, my friends, and my family, there are a lot of other people” he shrugged, running a hand through his hair.

Ridge shrugged the thanks off, since it wasn’t a big deal for him. “No problem” he replied, crossing his legs. He was curious about what was up with these two, sure, but it didn’t concern him, and he had just met them. He listened as Lark explained about his family, and he idly ran his fingers through the bright red streak in his bangs, looking up at it before back down to the other Firebender. “Wow. . . Sounds. . . well, different from anything I’ve dealt with. My parents are pretty lax on the rules, and tend to spoil me a bit. And that’s pretty much all there is to me” he had no idea what it must be like to have everybody know almost anything about you, and have nothing actually to yourself. He was sure it must suck. He grinned slightly, flicking his head to the side to rid his eyes of his hair. “Really? That’s a bit weird” he laughed slightly, “I wouldn’t have thought that everybody would be intimidated. Most of the population, sure, but not everyone. But I’m not the type to be intimidated by much anyways” he had always been rather outgoing, and not really seen things as dangerous when they probably were. His mother had always told him that was the way he was going to die, standing up to someone who could kick his ass when he really shouldn’t.

Kaia sighed, burying her face into the pillow on her bed and relaxing, letting out a long sigh. This was going to be a long trip, if she was going to have to put up with this kid every time they had a place to stay. She knew that she wouldn’t have to see much of him while they travelled, which was one thing she was thankful for. The Airbender wondered when they were going to be leaving in the morning, knowing that she would make her decision on whether to sleep now or not based on that, but she shrugged it off. She didn’t have that information, and was too lazy to go figure it out, so she decided to try to sleep now, and get the maximum amount of rest before they had to leave.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by Kaitou_Dark_Sama Mon Dec 06, 2010 5:21 pm

Roy laughed and shook his head, maybe he should have been expecting that, Ashton really didn't seem like the kind of person to be very social, Roy just had a tendency to bring the talkative side out of any person, it was just one of those amazing little traits he happened to have. "Ah well, I'm glad I live in such a small place and have the ability to be familiar with absolutely everyone, though I guess it would be nice to be always surrounded by people." He paused though when he asked what the South Pole looked like he thought about it for a moment before breaking down laughing, unable to help himself, there was only one answer he found that was completely appropriate for the question and Roy, having lived there his whole life, couldn't help but find it very amusing. “White.” He stated with a smile, “It looks white, the ground, the sky, the water a lot of the time, the rocks, the glaciers, the buildings. Let's face it...most of it is just snow.” he said with a laugh knowing that was pretty much all it was anywhere in the South Pole, but he loved it. ”And I'm guessing the North Pole is similar, but it has to be a bit more interesting then the snow fields, glaciers and igloos we have down south.” he said pretty sure that he was right in assuming this.

Azami shrugged not knowing how eight young benders were going to do against a large group, including a few very high ranking benders, but she didn't want to talk about that, she would gladly accept Cypress's optimism in place of these thoughts which seemed to cloud every opening in her mind. ”I guess you're right.” she said quietly looking down at the floor with a sigh. But she couldn't help but feel a little better when talking about her grandfather, he was just her exact opposite and so much she couldn't help but want to be more like him. “Yeah, I tell him not to say so much, but I guess he just can't help it. He's like that.” she said with a smile actually laughing lightly at the thought and how he would wave her off when she told him to stop telling her important, confidential, information. “I hope the Avatar is in Be Sing Se, since that's probably one of the first places we're going to go because its such a big population controlled by one person.” she said shrugging her shoulders, she paused after she said it though looking up at Cypress before adding, “Is there anyone you're going to want to see when we get there?” she asked tilting her head to the side her long brown hair following her head with the motion.

Lark sighed at Ridge's words, “Well, yes it is more different then what most people have to deal with and I am well aware of that.” he stated shaking his head and glancing down at the floor for a second before smiling warmly back up at Ridge and pushing his hair out of his face idly with three fingers. “I can see that you are hard to intimidate, and that is a sign of a blinding courage; but I am sure you can at least see a threat when one does decide to show itself, if not I would worry for your sanity.” he said with a laugh. Those were the sorts of things he had always been told and always been forced to over hear as a lot of it had been told to his brother many times through the years, with his bad temper and want to show his worth he had a tendency to bite off a little more then he could chew. ”You do have to wonder though, would it be a good idea to have someone in my sort of status on this team, our exploits will be far from a secret this way if a prince happens to disappear for an extended period of time.” Lark leaned against the wall and looked up at the ceiling a very curious look spreading onto his face. The fact that he wore such fancy garb probably just made him even more noticeable as well.

Kyoufuu did not wake up even as the door to his room opened, as his mentor walked in. He was woken up by words of scorn sounding like they were drifting to him on the wind but when he looked around there was no one around. ”God damn it, why don't you all just leave me alone, I'll be good when I have to, just let me sleep in peace for the last day I'll get to in a long time.” he groaned wrapping his pillow around the back of his head and sinking his face into the bed below him. He didn't know how many time he would have to say or think the fact that he was truly not looking forward to this, though he was glad he was able to get back to sleep after being woken up like that.

100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved] Empty Re: 100 Years Later(Avatar RP)[Reserved]

Post by RippedNose Sun Apr 17, 2011 8:38 am

Ashton gave a slight laugh, shrugging slightly. “Yeah, I guess it is pretty cool always having people around. I’m never lonely, that’s for sure” although he was rarely talking to any of the people around him anyways, it was nice to have them around sometimes. He could tell that Roy loved to be around people though. It just seemed to be part of his personality, the social, talkative one. He raised his eyebrows when the other waterbender started laughing, not sure what was so funny. He did laugh once he got the answer, grinning slightly. “Sounds . . . interesting” he said, nodding. He was used to snow of course, but where he lived was a bit more interesting than just white. He himself found the architecture of the city quite amazing. “Yeah, well it’s surrounded by giant walls of ice on three sides, but the architecture is amazing, and the city’s really beautiful” Ashton said, smiling slightly as he pictured his home. He was going to miss it while he was gone.

Cypress looked up at the ceiling, smiling slightly when Azami agreed with him, though she didn’t sound too sure of it. He figured it couldn’t be too bad, or else they wouldn’t be sending a bunch of teenagers off to do this job. Although, he supposed the whole thing could have been to make it seem less suspicious, a bunch of teenagers instead of a bunch of mature benders. Cypress laughed when she spoke about her grandfather. She seemed a bit brighter when she spoke about him. “Well as long as you don’t tell people, I’m sure it’s fine” he laughed, running a hand through his hair. He turned his head to look at Azami, nodding. “Yeah. That would be a bonus, finding the Avatar in one of the first places we look” he gave a short laugh, but his smile faded slightly at her question. “Eh . . . well, I guess the kids that I tutor, and a couple of my friends. But that’s it” he replied, shaking his head. He would like to hope that the kids didn’t interfere with their mission though. Knowing them, there was no telling what they would do.

Ridge laughed, shaking his head. Being royal, adopted or not, had to be kickass. Sure, he loved his life the way it was, but having everybody respect you, and do what you said had to be amazing. He grinned at the smile he received, giving a short laugh. “Yeah, don’t worry, I may be hard to intimidate, but I’m not stupid. If something arises that I can’t handle, I’ll back off. I don’t plan on having my ass handed to me. I prefer staying in one piece” he assured the other firebender, shaking his head before flicking his hair out of his eyes. He raised an eyebrow as he considered this fact, unsure what to think about it. “That’s true . . . but I’m sure if it was going to be that bad an idea, they wouldn’t have sent you” he pointed out, running a hand through his bright red bangs. “I’m sure somebody back home could cover for you or something anyways. Like, say that you’re sick and bedridden or something” he suggested, giving a shrug. He could see how it could be a problem for Lark to be travelling with them, but if it was kept a secret that he was missing, there shouldn’t be much of a problem, unless people actually recognized him and connected two and two.

Kaia fell asleep quickly, having no problem being in a strange bed in a strange place. It was best for her to be energized and awake for the morning anyways, so there was no problem falling asleep and staying asleep.
