Angels Imprisoned

Miles wrapped his wings around himself as bes he could, the chains making it difficult, but he tried as hard as he could, covering all of his face except one eye, so he could see the man. He had no idea what he was, but he was terrifying, and as he started stroking their wings he flinched violantly, jerking against the chains again. He seemed to be fascinated with them, for reasons that Miles didn't understand, but he didn't care. He just wanted this man to leave, and as the blood dripped down his back, he wondered again why he was there.

"Who are you?" Artemis finally asked, keeping the shaking and weariness out of his voice as best as he could manage. "Why have you brought us here?" He wanted answers, and he wanted them now. "What are your intentions?" He knew that the position they were in was bad now, but he needed to know exactly how bad. Then maybe he could start plotting an escape. He needed to. He would not stay here with who ever this was. He would not remain captive.
"Who am I?" The man finally said, his voice deep and dark, chilling all the same. Like a pit that had no bottom. "I am merely a....collector," he spoke, eyeing them as if they were jewels and they were the gems being appraised.

Miles was glad that Artemis asked the questions that he had planned on asking himself, not trusting his voice at the moment. The voice made him flinch even, chilinghim to the bone, making him petrified in fear, once again. Hearing the answer fear and anger bubbled up in him, and he threw his wings open in anger, trying to smother the fear. "Yeah then go collect someone you own size!" he yelled, glaring at the cloaked being and jerking at his chains harshly. He drew his wings back around him, not wanting to feel as exposed as he was. He really didn't want to be there, as he was sure Artemis didn't either, but there was seemingly no escape.

Aetemis wanted to tell the kid to shut up, because barking back in defiance was dangerous when they didn't know the true potential of their enemy. They were in no position, in any way or form, to be telling this guy what to do.
"Someone my own size? Did that make any sense whatsoever?" the man asked Miles, and Artemis could hear the sneer in his voice. He sounded as though he was considering toying with the angel who's bark was worse than his bite. He reached his hand out again, touching the black wings of Miles. "I did not say what I was collecting, now did I?" he said threateningly.

Miles hadn't really thought out what he was going to say, just yelling something, feeling a bit rebellious, as he was alot of the time. "I don't care if it makes sense or not" he retorted, yanking at the chains once more. Hearing the part about what he was collecting he stopped moving, hearing the threatening tone. He jerked his wings back away from the cold hand as far as the chains would permit, the metal making it awkward for him to move them too far, but he didn't care. He just didn't want the man to touch him, at all.

The man sneered at Miles, the louder one and the more energetic one of the two he had captured. He would be much more fun to break. To see him as he was now, defensive and attemptingly rebellious, then to see him silent, quivering, fearful. How wonderfully enjoyable it would be to see the drastic change in his behavior. He pulled his hand back to his side, smirking at the two lovely angels chained up in front of him. Soon, their wings and bodies would be all his. "I am going to be your new master, so I suggest you shape up and change your tone immedietly." He brushed a hand up against Miles' face, then Artemis'. Stepping back into the shadows and dissapearing from the two.

Miles growled quietly as he was told to change his tone. He wasn't planning on changing anything about himself in the near future. He jerked his head away from the cold touch on his face, seeing the man do the same to Artemis, before stepping into the darkness and seemingly dissappearing. He relaxed against the chains as soon as he was gone, dropping his head and letting his body be supported by the chains. "Like hell he's gonna be my 'master' " he said angrily, not lifting his head. He had no idea what to expect from the being who had apparently 'collected' them, but he had no intentions of co-operating at all.

"Should you really have put in an outburst like that?" Artemis asked him, looking over at the grumbling black-winged angel. "Do you really think that was wise?" If they both planned on surviving, then such impudence would not be tolerated by this guy. Artemis would not call him 'master' as well, but then, he was being quieter about it. He was staying silent, just watching so that the unfortunate did not happen too early. He had to watch and observe to find out the situation's level of danger. And how to escape it.

Miles lifted his head to look at Artemis, shrugging as best he could with the chains. "I don't care. Just getting it out there that I'm not going to be a good little angel" he said with a slight smirk. He had always been rebelious, not doing anything he was asked to do, and doing everything he wasn't supposed to, so he was planning on keeping that up as long as possible, while trying to figure out how to get out. "Geez. . . why the hell is he 'collecting' us anyways?" he sighed, confused about that.

"Then he knows you'll be better to break if you show how head strong you are," Artemis said. "I don't understand yet as to why he is collecting us either, perhaps there is no reason, and he is just in it for the pleasure." It was possible. All to possible, as they were in the middle of the predicament now. So far he had obtained no information about where they were, or how they were to get out. He'd have to try harder, and he'd have to do it fast. Faster.

Miles snorted and hung his head. "There's no way in hell he's going to break me" he said angrily, trying to let himself beleive his words, though he really didn't. He knew he would probably cave eventually, but he would hold up as long as possibly, continuing to oppose the bastard who decided to abduct him. "I'm gonna get out of here sooner or later. . . it's only a matter of time" he lied. He knew there was no way that he of all people would be able to get out. As rebellious as he was, he wasn't the brightest.

"Are you sure about that? You haven't been broken before, so how would you know what it's like to be broken? To have all your self-esteem, your trust, your faith and hope, crushed. Shattered by someone who desires to do nothing but destroy that of you," Artemis snapped at the cocky guy. He had not been broken either, but he could feel what it could be like, he could think fa renough ahead to realize what would happen. "It is only a matter of time before we are broken, and before we escape. We will need to try and get the latter first."

Miles raised an eyebrow, looking at the other angel cooly. "Well, excuse me for not giving up completely" he muttered under his breath, looking away. "You say this like you have experiance with this" he said louder this time, but not looking at Artemis. "I'm going to get out. . . there's no way that he can keep me here" he said as confidently as he could, studying the chains on his arms, since they were easier for him to see.

"It is not from experience..." Artemis muttered. "It is thinking things through." Artemis sighed as the kid persisted in claiming that he would get out, and that they couldn't keep him here. They couldn't keep Artemis here, either. He'd find a way to get out as well, but he wouldn't go broadcasting it or anything, and he'd look at everything thoroughly, as not to miss anything and escape faster.

Miles rolled his eyes, not really caring anyways. "Whatever" he muttered, hanging limply in his chains. It was really uncomfortably, and his back hurt where his wings had been forced out, but he was just glad that the man was gone. He closed his eyes and made sure he was completely limp, noting each twist of the chains around his body, making up an image of how he was being contained. "Hmm. . . do you think it'd be possible to get the chains off somehow?" he asked, eyes still closed, and a concentrated look on his face.

Artemis considered how plausible it would be to get out of the chains. Relaxing his body to feel the chains around his limbs, he felt for a way out. The way the chains twisted around their bodies, making sure almost every inch was covered, perhaps not. "I don't think so, but even so, what would we do if we got out? How would we know where to go and find our way out?"

Miles sighed, trying to twist his arms within the chains, seeing if it might be possible to get them mostly out. "Well, I dunno, but we're going to need to know if we can get out anyways. . . if we know how to get out of this place, but not out of the chains, it's all pretty pointless. I think I might be able to get an arm almost all the way out" he said, twisting and tugging his arm, feeling the chains shifting slightly. It was making quite a bit of noise, his hisses and grunts and the jangling of the chains, but he got his arm a few inches from where it was originally. "Ugh. . . that hurts. . . but I don't think I can get it any farther" he sighed, shifting it back to the original position where it didn't hurt.

"Good job with that," Artemis commented dryly, looking to the shadows to check if that one guy, the collector, had heard anything or had come to see how Miles' escape was fairing. "Don't create such noise. If you start a racket, he is sure to come and check on us. I dislike these chains as much as you, but don't struggle so much. Not yet." These chains were making Artemis' limbs ache, as did his back, from the forced out wings. He tried to draw them back into him, the chains rattling weakly as his wings shook from the effort. That thing the guy had done, using his finger to draw them out as he had, would not allow his wings to go back on his own will.

Miles sighed, stopping his movements when he was sure he was as comfortable as he was going to get. His eyes flicked to the darkness at Artemis's words, really not wanting him to come back to check on them. Or for anything. "Yet?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow. "Well I feel like struggling now. . . makes me feel like I'm actually doing something to get out of this place" he started trying to get his arm out again, making maybe more noise than he had the first time, getting farther in getting it out, about half a foot, his actions fuelled by defiance and anger, though he froze when a figure stepped out of the shadows. "Shit. . . " he muttered, looking at the collector guy.

Mysteriously emerging from within the shadows of the prisoned room they were in, Artemis gazed at him, trying to control the tempo of his heart. It was racing faster than it ever had in his life. Only in the presence of this man did that happen. He didn't like it. Who was this person? Why was he after them in the first place? If he was really a collector, why them? Maybe they were just the closest at the time? One of those things where you're in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Miles laughed nervously, trying to shove his arm back in the chains, but doing it quickly didn't work, just biting into his arm, causing him to wince. He knew he was probably screwed, and that he should have listened to Artemis, really wishing that he had as this collector person walked over to him, and he flinched slightly under his gaze. "Um. . . it's not what you think?" he suggested, smiling as best he could. The man raised an eyebrow.
"Then what is it I'm seeing?" he asked, narrowing his eyes at Miles, pretty much telling him that he was in a shitload of trouble.
"Um. . . I was trying to scratch my nose. . . and my arm slipped a bit because it was extremely itchy" he said with another smile, wondering how much trouble he would be in for getting his arm out so far.

"Right, mmhm," he said, looking at him skeptically. "I'm sure you were...." He looked from Miles to Artemis, looking to see if either had attempted any sort of stuggle. Only the loud one really appeared to have tried. The quieter one seemed to be still, docile, really. "Now, what should I do with you...hmmm" He faked to be thinking hard, even though he already had in mind what he was going to do to mess with the noisey one.

Miles avoided looking him in the eyes, hoping to god whatever happed didn't hurt that much, though he was pretty sure it would. "Um. . . give me a cookie and let me go?" he asked hopefully, giving a smile. He figured that mocking wasn't such a good idea, but he couldn't help it. It was pretty much in his nature, unavoidable, just slipping out without any thought.

"A cookie? Please," he scoffed, sneering maliciously. He set his hands on one of Miles' wings, holding it, staying frozen with them in his grip for a second, before he split it, cracking the bone in half, letting the broken wing hang limply, bleeding. The black feathers of the one were dripping in blood, the sounds of Miles screaming was music to his ears. "How was that? I'd say better than cookie."

Miles flinched as the cold hands were on his wing, and he tensed, having no idea what was coming. As the bone was snapped, his eyes widened and he screamed in agony, his wing hanging awkwardly as the blood dripped off of it. He bit back the scream, biting his lip and closing his eyes, breathing heavily. "You bastard. . . go burn in hell" he panted, opening one eye to glare at him.
