A Sight to See

Nathaniel hit the ground hard when he was caught by Alex, he felt his head slam on the ground and his neck receive whiplash from hitting hard enough to go back up and back again. He never had whiplash before. Then again, he hadn't fought with an American before. First time for everything if he was in the mood to joke right now. He rolled over quickly, hoping it got him away from whatever Alex had been planning to do once he was on the ground. His head was spinning and pounding, he heard Draylen shouting at them. It didn't sound like it was the first time. Had he been yelling this whole time? He heard Draylen cry, his eyes snapped open, even if his vision wasn't focused 100% at the moment. He staggered up, unknowing to what Alex might do next, but not caring. Draylen wanted them to stop fighting. He didn't know if it was as easy as that to stop the other from fighting, but all Draylen had to do was ask. Too bad he hadn't heard it the first few times. "Draylen," he panted out, holding his head to try to stop the world from pulsing in his sight. Was he bleeding? he wondered. He checked his hand and found a small line of blood. At least he hadn't cracked his head open. Just a cut from the pavement maybe. It seemed minor, or maybe just starting. Head wounds bled a lot even if they were little. What was Alex going to do now?

Alex let out a short laugh when the reader hit the ground, moving in to kick him or something when he heard the sob, and his attention was immediately caught. He abandoned the male who had gotten to his feet already, sighing. "Dray, don't cry, please. You know I hate it when you cry" his voice softer now than it had been for the time he had known Nathaniel.
"I don't fucking care. Just leave Nath alone!" he wiped his face on his arm, moving towards Nathaniel, who he could tell was hurt from when he fell.
"No! Stay away from him!" Alex was quick, arms slipping around Dray and pulling him back, gently, but the youngest male there pulled away, throwing his arms around Nath instead.

"Draylen," he mumbled, actually amazed that Alex wasn't as big a jerk as he let on when he spoke to him. Maybe he was one of those people who acted nice around friends only, and strangers were off limits around those same friends. If he knew Alex any better he might say he was one of the people afraid to lose their friends to outsiders. "I'm okay," he said. He was sure he had lost this fight. It seemed over and at the moment it seemed like a truce because Draylen had stopped the fight before a real conclusion could be met, but Nathaniel hadn't been able to knock the other down at least once. If his cards hadn't been spurring him on to win, what had they been doing? Warning him about Draylen getting upset, maybe?

Arms around Nathaniel, the shortest of the three sighed, glad there was a temporary stop to this stupid fight. He detatched himself from the reader and stepped back, looking between the two boys. "Are you listening to me now?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. He got a nod from Alex almost instantly. "I want you guys to effing drop it. Alex, I'm not some kind of property. You can't win me in a fight. I've been in a relationship with Nathaniel for MAYBE an hour. So calm down, and leave me alone. Hell, you can be my friend! Just lay off. Nath, I really appreciate you fighting for me, but it's not going to happen again. I'm sorry you got dragged into this" Draylen sighed, running a hand through his hair. He had stopped crying pretty quickly, now that everyone had stopped. Alex sighed, glaring at Nath but saying nothing, not knowing what to say about this.

"Hmm, not even an hour, if I may say," Nathaniel commented, but accepted the terms none the less. He didn't need to get in another losing fight with Alex again. He should go to a gym or something in his spare time. He wasn't very good with endurance of any sort when it came to sports, not usually. It was moderate, if that. He liked studying more. Running wasn't bad, but running wouldn't give him the technique to win a fight. "You could have asked questions first, Alex. Questions prevent fights sometimes." He checked the back of his head, he could feel where the cut was from the stinging when he ran a hand over it. From what he could tell, it wasn't that bad and could have been worse. He checked the back of his pockets where all of his important things were. At least he didn't land on his keys when he fell. That was always awful. His glasses were safe in the case, and his tarot were still fine. He was going to be fine and would thankfully not need the hospital. A few cuts and bruises, and Alex had maybe a few sore spots. Probably no bruises to show off like he did, not that they were good thing to brandish.

"Exactly" Draylen sighed, brushing his hair back from his green eyes. Alex's glare intensified on Nath when the reader spoke, and he crossed his arms.
"Don't tell me what to do, fucking Brit. I knew all I needed. You were taking Draylen away from me" he snapped, turning on his heel and leaving, a last glance at Dray before keeping his eyes forward, not looking back.
"I'm so sorry. I really am. This doesn't happen all the time though, I swear" Draylen sighed, putting his head in his hands, feeling like a horrible boyfriend now. Less than an hour, and Nathaniel had pretty much been beaten up for being with him.

"He thinks after he jumps, doesn't he?" Nathaniel asked when Alex had left. "If it doesn't happen all the time, are there any other overprotective exboyfriend's that are going to claim you as theirs after years or so of breakup?" Draylen, for now, was his. He didn't know if he could really call the other man his yet, because they had been going out for maybe an hour, as he said. They knew each other for about two weeks. Depending on how their relationship went, in a month or more he felt that Draylen could be called his. He would have to work hard to build his relationship. "That doesn't usually happen on the first date. I think we set a record for what events can happen on the first go."

"Mhmm" Draylen nodded, glancing in the direction Alex had gone, probably to find his friends and vent. He tended to do that often. "Umm, no. One's at University, and the other's fine. We had a falling out, no hard feelings" he sighed, looking at the ground, feeling rather awkward. Stupid Alex and his stupid problems, even if he was a sweet guy to people he liked. He laughed slightly at what Nathaniel said, feeling a bit better at that and looking up at the reader. "Yeah, I think so" he agreed, smiling. "So, uhm, you're not. . . angry, or upset or anything?" he asked a bit hesitantly, unsure about this. He didn't seem to be, but you never know.

"No need to be mad or upset with this sort of thing. More like proud that I'm with someone who is still wanted by ex's." Though that ex would more or less come back to haunt them, maybe. Nathaniel had no problem with that, he just wasn't up for another fight with the same ex. "Hmm, you've met with some interesting people, haven't you?" Draylen went with what he felt, he must have at least felt some interesting people in his time walking around places and feeling and what not.

Draylen smiled again, happy with the answer he was given. "Yeah? I'm nothing you should really be proud over, but okay" he grinned, looping his fingers through his belt loops. "Yeeeaah. Unfortunately. Welcome to American highschools. Lots of interesting people" he laughed, wondering why he was drawn to some people. It must have had something to do with his Sight. "So how's your head?" he asked, tilting his own head to the side. "We should get it fixed up" he would have no problem with helping Nathaniel, especially since it had been his fault in the first place.

"Yes, America," Nathaniel rolled his eyes. "My head is not bad, but it's been better." Worst headache ever. He didn't get headaches often, and he was nearly sure it wasn't a headache but just his head hurting, still, it was the worst one he'd ever had. He checked the back of his head again. "Er, I'm surprised I'm not bleeding more." Yet would be the famous last words of anything, he might quote. "I guess we should get it fixed up. Ice bag maybe." And a cloth until he stopped bleeding.

"America is a strange place, full of strange people. But I'm glad you're here" Draylen smiled, putting his hands behind his back and clasping them there. "Yeah? I can help. You wanna come to my place or something and I can check it out?" he asked, tilting his head and waiting for a response. His mom wouldn't mind, since she liked it when he had new people over that she could meet. She would be happy to hear that he had a new boyfriend as well, since she didn't like to think of him as lonely.

"No kidding. No place like America, as they say." Melting pot was also mentioned too, and while that was perfectly agreeable culture wise and political party wise, it certainly was a new scale of pot when it came to who everyone was. "Sure, I don't mind. My brother is home to feed the dogs anyway." He wanted Draylen to meet his dogs some time, he might like them. They were nice dogs, and very warm and comforting when Nathaniel was feeling lonely and or cold at night. They all snuggled in with him on his bed, laying on top of him or next to him.

"Mhmm. Pretty awesome though" Dray grinned as the other answered to his offer with an affirmative. "Alright. Should I drive you there and take you back to your car later, or do you wanna follow me?" he asked, the latter giving him more of a chance to get lost, but it would be rather hard to lose him. He didn't live too far away. He was unsure if it was dangerous to drive when he had just hit his head off the cement, but he seemed to be fine, and didn't seem to have an concussion or anything.

"I'll drive. If I start swerving or something just honk the horn and I'll pull over." Or if he knew he was swerving the car he'd pull over too. Which ever came first for him. "I dunno, either way I'd be driving eventually. Might as well have a go at it to see if I can drive or not." If he did pull over and Dray drove him the rest of the way, where would his car be? Maybe he wasn't thinking this through very well, but it was better than making Draylen take an extra car drive to drive him back to his car.

"Umm, alright. Great idea" Draylen laughed, scratching the back of his head. "Okay, so where's your car? Mine's just over there" he nodded to the side, where his car was two aisles down. He could see the complications of Nathaniel swerving, and he didn't think it was a very good idea, but he would watch him carefully. "Friends don't let friends drive drunk, but I'll let it slide this time" he smiled, since it technically counted, the symptoms of hitting your head hard not too far off from being drunk, but a lot more painful.

"My car, ironically, is around there today. I don't usually park over here, but the one I usually am in was crowded." Good thing he did park here, not that he was able to foresee getting into a fight with Alex, a crazy ex boyfriend of Draylen's. "Driving drunk? I don't drink," Nathaniel said, but he did have a few on breaks. He didn't drink any time during his school studies, so on breaks, maybe a little with some classmates. Never enough to get stupid-drunk, but enough to feel good.

"Awesome. Us phsychics are epic" Dray grinned, turning to start to walk towards their cars. "Mmm, really? Most people do, around your age. College parties and crap. I don't often. . . only special occasions and stuff. Even if I'm not exactly, uhmm, legal" he grinned slightly, having no problem admitting it, since people weren't that strong on enforcing that. "But I can legally drink in Canada in a week!" he said brightly, even if that didn't mean much.

"Hmm, drinking isn't necessary to get anywhere. I don't see a point in it ultimately." Especially the parties. He never went to those things just because it would mean him standing awkwardly in a corner watching other people have fun. He wasn't very good with a lot of people. One on one he could handle them just fine. "Shame we're not in Canada. They seem to have loads of younger legal ages than the United States." He had no idea why, but it seemed like Canada did it on purpose to him.

"Yeah. I know people who drink almost every weekend. Hell, I know people who went to Canada on their 19th birthdays just so they could sit in a bar and legally get drunk out of their minds" Draylen rolled his eyes, knowing there was no way he was going to do something that stupid on his birthday. "Mmm. I dunno how much I'd like the Great White North" he grinned, well aware that Canada wasn't the way some people thought, with people in igloos and such. He had had a pen pal in Canada in elementry school.

"Great White North? Is that what you call it?" Nathaniel could kind of see why it was called North in its name, but not really seeing why it had Great and White in it too. "My car is over there. I'll follow you out." He looked to where thy could exit and wondered which way they'd be leaving. Hopefully his driving skills would be okay just until they got to Draylen's house, and maybe after that too. He also needed those skills to get to school and work. Maybe he shouldn't have thought any time limit to his driving capabilities.

"Yeah, just as a joke. A Canadian penpal of mine in like, the fourth grade called it that. Just because everyone thinks there's just so much snow there" Draylen explained, laughing slightly. "Mm'kay. Please try not to kill anybody. I'll see you in a bit" he smiled and gave a wave, heading to his car and unlocking it, hopping in and turning the key in the ignition, buckling his seatbelt and pulling out, heading to the nearest exit.

"Sure, can give it a go. No promises." He wouldn't kill anybody if he had to. He never wanted to kill people. He wasn't a video gamer either, and didn't kill much even fake in games. Every now and then with his brother he might play a round of something, or maybe watch something. Sometimes his brother had him get past a thing for him. It was okay, but not something he could sit down and play for hours at a time. He walked to his car, keeping his balance steady. It wasn't that bad, but it made him realize how easy walking should have been. He got in the car and turned the keys on, taking a deep breath, buckling up, and following Draylen's car. So far not bad. His vision was fine, his head was throbbing, but his nervous system seemed to be in tact.

Draylen watched as the other car pulled up behind him, and he turned towards home. It wasn't a very long drive, but he kept an eye on Nathaniel's car in his rear-view mirror, turning into his driveway soon enough. He turned the car off and got out, fishing his keys out while he waited for Nath to pull in. He liked showing off his small home to people, just as one of the places he loved to be, along with the cats he loved so much.

Draylen's car was easy to follow. Nathaniel pulled into the driveway that Draylen had stopped in. He shut the car off and got out, meeting with Draylen in the driveway. "Your house looks nice and quiet," he said, looking the place over. The area he lived in looked decent, like nothing bad happened around here. Where he lived, it wasn't bad, but it didn't look as nice as here. Maybe he only thought that because it wasn't a place he was familiar with and didn't know anything about.
