The Endless Night

It was a cold dark winter morning, she ran faster and faster as if it didn’t cross her mind to look back at the world that she was leaving behind. It all started the night before when she woke from her sleep to a startling noise coming from her parents room. As she rose out of bed to put on her slippers, she took her first steps toward the long endless night. She walked slowly towards her parents room, hesitated to keep going she reach for the handle not know what was happening on the other side. As she grabbed the door she could feel that something was terribly wrong, not turning around like she should have she opened the door to find her mom tide to the bed and her dad bleeding on the floor. Before she could turn to run, the next thing she knew she was being tide to a chair.

She screamed and screamed thinking someone would hear her voice, but all she heard was the man in the mask telling her to stop screaming or he would hurt her. He put a cloth around her mouth and left the room. She sat there looking at her mom with tears coming out of her eyes trying not to cry the little girls mom looked at her and said “ don’t be afraid lexi everything will be okay”. The little girl looked at her and nodded. As the man enter the room he had a knife with him and he was going towards the girl, as she screamed and wiggling trying to get out of the ropes he stuck the knife to her back and cut the ropes. He took her by the hair and dragged her out of the room. Not knowing that was going to be the last time she saw her mother again.

He took her to the basement were he had set up a bed for the little girl to sleep and were he could began to do what he was hired to do. He threw her to the ground and walked to the door, and out the door he went and behind him he lock the door. She sat there looking around petrified knowing this was going to be the last night she lived. Stargazing she look everywhere for something she could use to get free, hearing the foots steps above she looked faster and faster knowing that she didn’t have much time before the man in the mask returned to the basement. As she started to give up on the search she spotted something in the floor in the corner, she walked over and there laid the knife the man had when he cut the ropes from the chair.

She look at the knife think it was just her imagination, but when she her the foot steps coming down the stairs she grabbed the knife and franticly put it in her pants and sat down on the bed. When the man came the door the little girl stood up and screamed “ leave me alone, don’t hurt me”. He came closer to her hitting her so that she fell to the ground crying. He got on his knees and rolled her over, as she screams in his face the man starts to unbuckle her pants, the girl reached for the knife and stabbed the man in the arm. As he dropped to his back the little girl got up and took off for the door. As she ran for the door she could her the man yelling “ I will get you and you will pay for this”.

As she opened the door she wanted to go back for her mother, but thinking she just took off for freedom. Smelling the fresh air she ran as fast as she could, not looking back to what she just had escaped from. She was scared that if she look backed the man in the mask would be coming after her to kill her, so she ran as fast as she could and as far as can.
