Angels Imprisoned

He smiled happily, sighing in contentment. "I love that sound. Perhaps I should hear it again. I can listen to it once more from you like that... but, I think I'll wait for another day. I've got much more planned." He turned to Artemis, considering on snapping one of this boy's wings. He hadn't actually done anything yet, but he looked too smart for his own good. He went for it anyway, gripping one of his white wings in his hands and snapping it as easily as he had for the other kid.
Artemis caught himself screaming out in pain, trying to bite his lip to prevent the sadist from getting his kicks. The man didn't look too pleased with the rebellion coming from Artemis, but he let it go this one time. Other things could make him scream later.

Miles, was releived to hear that he was going to be left alone for now, but it was obvious that they were going to be tortured for pretty much their whole stay here. He winced slightly at the sound of Artemis's scream, and he glanced over to see blood shining on his white wings, so he figured that his was bleeding as well. He sighed in releif as the man smirked and backed into the shadows again, dissappearing from view. "Fuck that hurts" he groaned, letting his wing hang loosely.

Artemis panted roughly, his sight blurring from the pain. It took more effort to hold back screaming than to actually scream. His broken wing hung pathetically, blood from where the bone had broken through leaking out, hitting the floor. The room began to reek of their blood in open air, and it was making him sick. "Just...try not to let him have too much fun. Restraint is nessecary in times like this," he said, looking at how each had a snapped wing. It could be worse. And it was probably going to get worse. This was only the beginning.

Miles grinned his teeth and closed his eyes. The pain was horrible, as was the smell that the blood was now creating. His wings hurt from being forced out of him in the first place, let alone having one broken. "I've noticed. . . it's kinda hard though, in case you havn't figured that out already" he said, loosening his jaws to speak before gritting his teeth again. "Shit. . . what the hell did I do to deserve this?" he muttered to himself, shaking his head and sighing. He tried to keep the pain minimal by not moving his wings at all, but it still hurt like hell.

Artemis could agree with Miles' complaints, though he wouldn't allow himself to word this aloud. Artemis tried to control his heavy breathing, the pain in his back not allowing any such thing. "You might as well kiss those wings goodbye, Miles. I don't think we're going to get out of here with them." This collector guy, he seemed more intrested in their wings than anything else. He'd break them first, then he would more than likely take then, leaving their bodies as torture toys.

Miles sighed and brought his unbroken wing in front of his face for a moment before folding it against his back again. "I'd better get out with my wings. Broken or not, I'd like to keep them attatched to me" he said firmly, trying to sound more confident than he felt. Really, there was no way to get out. They were stuck there for enternity. Even being stuck there for the short time that they had been, he could feel his hope fading, though he would continue to rebel.

"Do you really think we could? Face it, we're not going to leave here in one piece. We won't be as sane as we are now when we leave," Artemis snapped, gritting his teeth. "Fighting back isn't going to work, doesn't matter what you think about it, it won't work."

Miles laughed dryly, shaking his head. "Well, let's just hope we make it out in general. Fighting back is pretty much programmed into my mind. It's just who I am. . . can't be helped" he said with as much of a smile he could manage, which looked more like a grimace. He opened his eyes to look at Artemis. "If I don't fight, it makes me feel like I'm not doing anything. . . it's like I've just given up already, and there's nothing I can do, so I won't have the motivation to do anything about it".

"If you don't fight, you'll at least have the strength to, later. When it's really needed, you'll be able to if you just watch and observe. Watching and observing is not doing nothing," Artemis said. "Watching and observing can be less exerting at times, you know. You should try it some time."

"But it feels like I'm not doing anything, and it makes me feel helpless" Miles protested. He hated feeling vulnerable and weak, completely helpless and hopeless, as he did when he didn't stand up to the man who was torturing them. It just made him feel like he was doing something about it, and showing that he wasn't weak minded or afraid, though he was.

Artemis could see there was no reasoning with him now. He was dead set on fighting back, as long as it made him feel useful. Artemis groaned, both in pain and in annoyance. "Okay, well, you tire yourself out while I think of how to get out of here. Enjoy, I guess."

Miles sighed, letting his head fall backwards, his silver hair falling off of his face. "I'm not going to get tired. Well, if I do, I'll regain my strength before doing anything else" he said, trying to formulate a sort of scedual, though he couldn't, not knowing what was going to happen to them. He had no idea if this collector guy was going to beat them daily, or every few days, or ignore them for weeks at a time. He just had no idea, so planning was hard. "Do you think you'll even be able to find a way out of here?" he asked, his head still back, and looking up at the ceiling.

"It is inevitable. No matter how long we remain here as his captives, eventually either of us will be able to spot some sort of escape route. We cannot stay here forever and never find ways to get around," Artemis replied, looking to the floor, dissapointed in himself for not having found anything useful yet. Normally he could....and now he needed to most, but he hadn't.

Miles nodded, having to admit that it was true. But they would never see past where they were chained up would they? Which would make them unsure of where to go, after a point. "Hmm. . . I guess so" he said with a sigh. Really, he'd like to just wing it, getting out of the chains and hoping that luck was on their side, trying to find an exit. "Heh. . . wonder what'll happen if he gets bored with us" he said dryly, wondering if they would be set free after that. It wasn't likely at all, but he could still try to hope.

"Hmm, when he tires of us? Simple, he will dispose of us," Artemis stated, thinking out how the enemy thought. This would be the best way to rid himself of them when he was no longer intrested in them. "How he will dispose of our bodies is unknown, as there are perhaps many ways he can come up with."

Milesgrimaced, not liking how that sounded. "I don't want to be 'disposed of', like some toy that a child no longer wants" he said angrily, shaking his head. "But I guess we have no choice, unless we get out of here. . . " he sighed, thinking of what might happen. "Can angels even die?" he asked uncertainly. He had never bothered to find out, safe in heaven, but now he wanted to know.

"Can't be helped," Artemis said, commenting on Miles' dislike of being disposed of like something no one doesn't desire any more. "When he is bored of us, he will dispose of us, which means we've got to get out of here sooner than he can get bored with us. If you have to, make it more enjoyable for him when the time comes." Artemis wouldn't like it, because his pride was rather important to him, but self-preservation would call for it. "Can we die?" Artemis thought about it. "No, I don't think we can, but I suppose our minds can be driven insane out of the pain and torture, where we'll just suffer and wander. "I don't think angels die, but could lose their exisistance. You know, like just not feeling you're conscious anymore."

He nodded when Artemis said that it couldn't be helped. More enjoyable? Well that was probably going to be what he did weather it was planned or not. Miles listened to his explination, thinking it over. "Well that's reassuring. . . we just go insane and lose conciousness forever" he rolled his eyes, sighing. Getting out would probably be near impossible, at least for awhile. Probably a long while, but they still would eventually, as long as they weren't 'disposed of' first. "Hmm. . . I wonder what will happen to us if we try to escape, but fail" he mused, knowing that it wouldn't be pleasant at all. They would probably be brought as close to death as they could get.

"I doubt we can even get so far as to removing part of the chains that bind us," Artemis said, looking at the chains that surrounded their bodies and held them in place. "As you can see, we are barely able to move an arm or leg, so what makes you believe we could get out in the first place? Although, should we ever manage, yet fail, the consiquences would be the utmost dire."

Miles looked down at the chains, his hair falling down around his face as he looked at the tangle of metal that covered his body. "Hmm. . . after awhile we'll probably find a way out of these. . . I don't know how, but if they shift enough after awhile, they may slide off if we try hard enough" he suggested, having no idea if things worked like that, but hoping that they would.

Artemis looked at his chains, thinking to what Miles had said. "I'm not sure. It may or may not be possible, although the chances are much higher for the latter." How would they try anyway? They were stuck in one place, anyways, plus with their broken wing, then the movement was quite limited. "They may slip off if we get thin enough, maybe."

Miles nodded in agreement, knowing that their chances of escape were low. "Hmm. . . we'll probably get really thin. . .and then the chains will shift over time. . . so it might just be possible after a few years or something maybe?" he said with a grimace "Hopefully sooner though". He sighed, wondering if their words were true, or if they were just saying these things hoping that it would work.

"We could be here for who knows how long," Artemis sighed. They were all immortal beings; them, and their captor. This game could go on for a long while. Eventually, he would get bored of them, but if could be for generations. "I doubt a few years. It could take a little longer than just four or five. Angels aren't supposed to get really thin in the span a human could. We are built differently. We work differently."

"I know, I was just trying to make it sound better than it really is. . . optimism, y'know?" Miles said, looking around the room slowly, peering into the shadows that this collector guy seemed to come and go from. There had to be a way out that way, if anywhere. "Where do you suppose we are anyways? Heaven? Earth? Hell?" he asked, glancing back to Artemis. He himself had no idea, but that would probably take some affect to their escape.

"Optimism isn't going to help very much in this situation, Miles," Artemis said, wishing it could, even though he didn't use it very often. "I would have to guess we are still somewhere on Earth. Elsewise we'd be feeling some sort of power raidience from the other places. I'm not sure on that, so I guess I should tell you not to qoute me on that. Perhaps we'll find out some way," he said, wondering where they could be.
