Cloaked By Night

Revelation walked into this familiar place once again, he looked around and the dark corners that could have anything lurking within them. This place was where he got his best work. It may smell worse than cat piss, but it was a good source of income none the less, and Revelation was not one to give up one a chance to get money. From what he had been told already, which was not much if anything, his next target was going to be a challenge, in other words...it was going to be fun. “Revelation.” The voice sounded from the room down the hall, hoarse and deep, edges rough enough they could cut through the air, to say the least, it got Revelation’s attention as he walked down the hallway into yet another dark, damp, smelly room. A man was standing there, in a suit, how appropriate (not). Revelation approached him with a glare on his face, as a manila folder was thrust into his arms. He looked down at the folder then glared at the man. “Disdainful as always it would seem, Revelation.” Revelation ignored the comment and opened up the folder. “This guy, he’s not going to be an easy target, and this is the only time I’m going to tell you this. He’s not human, so don’t be expecting any usual tactics from him.” Revelation had been looking at the single picture in the folder, his brows furrowed as he tried to make sense of it, memorize everything he was seeing, it wasn’t a great picture, but he had worked off of worse.

He looked up at the guy, “Not human...” Revelation repeated under his breath, figuring he would find out eventually none the less. “Well. I think I’ll be fine, you shouldn’t doubt my skills.” He said a bit louder, his voice smooth as silk but deep and scornful. “I’ll be back here next week at the latest.” Revelation finished closing the folder and walking away, not caring what else this guy had to say. He made his way back to his apartment where he looked over the minimal information within the folder. He saw he would have to do some travelling this time round, not that he wasn’t accustomed to that sort of thing. He glanced at his clock; it was three in the morning, if he set out now he would be there before midday. His destination, NYC.

That day had been kind to him. With the variety of strange character in the large city he wasn’t one to be noticed, despite his odd appearance: white hair and incredibly pale white skin practically glowing in the sunlight, pink eyes scanning everything with a glare that never seemed to leave his face, clothing probably a little too thick to be worn in such nice weather, and jacket long enough to cover his belt which held his twin pistols and dagger. It was still light out, it was the perfect time to think up tactics and gather info.

Based off of the coordinates he had been given he situated himself inside a nearby café, in a seat with a view of the road, he would have gone for a rooftop, but with all these skyscraper like building he decided something closer to the ground would be a little bit of a smarter move. He was a little paranoid though, and kept fiddling with the long black jacket he wore, just to make sure his weapons were properly concealed. He wondered briefly just how suspicious he looked, though decided quickly that thinking about it will just increase his sense of paranoia to a whole new level. He settled with just keeping his eyes on the road, taking the occasional sips of the coffee in front of him. This guy better show up eventually, but for some reason, he had his doubts. The streets were finally dark, giving the entire city a rather eerie feeling as the street lights started to go out, still nothing. He sighed as the lady behind the counter said they were closing, he knew luck was not on his side. He left the building as the lady turned off the lights and headed out herself. The streets were practically dead and cloaked in the darkness of the night, but Revelation couldn’t just leave now, based off what the report he had been given said, this would be the best time to find this guy. But he didn’t know how he would seek out his target without drawing attention to himself now. His best option now, hide with the crowd or lack thereof in this case. He did that as best he could, and it was always now that he wished that he didn't have such a light catching appearance where even the beams of light created by the reflection of the sun off the moon made his hair and skin practically glow. He just hoped this target wouldn't be some ravenous killer who simply lurks the streets...but again...he had his doubts as he continued through the big city streets.

Shinigami woke up to the Beeping sound coming from his laptop, he figured the battery must be going dead. He got out of the bed and walked over to the lap top and touched the space key on the key pad and then it came back online. A password verification screen came up and he typed a sentence in it, then the screen flickered and went black. All of a sudden letters and numbers flew up and down the screen like the movie matrix, he watched it, reading it. He then knew someone placed a mark on his head. The person that alerted him remained nameless, but then again to him it didnt matter who the one was that gave him the heads up. Before he turned to move away from the lap top, the letters,"srfder jereh ereu iiu yu" came accross the screen, which turned out to be,"honey, I love you. PLease be safe." The words caught him by suprise, he couldnt think of anyone that would say anything like that. The one woman that he loved died many years ago, unless this could be someone that is in love with him from a distance. He walked away and said,"great now im being stalked while hunted."

He quickly got dressed in his usual clothes, baggy black pants with a black shirt with a long jacket that swept down to his legs like a trench coat. After getting dressed he puts a pistol inside a holster and put the holster on his leg using a velcro strap that is very secure and wont move. He made sure to have spare ammonution, he tucked six mags that contain seven rounds in the clip, plus the one already in the pistol, making it a tottal of seven clips. He smiled at the thought of being hunted, the thought brought him the most amusement he has had in a very long time. Fucking women, feeding, and doing anything he wanted didnt amuse him this much. Most people would have been afraid to even take a step, but to him this was just another game that he knows he will win, the only question that he wishes to ask is how well is the hunter. Is he just a pussy with a gun, or something better?

He brushed his hair back, straightening out his hair revealing the red streaks in his black hair, He walked outside looking at his cars and thinks,"should I go out and have some fun with this guy and show off, or should I justgo about my business?" He thought about it for a few minutes, after deciding to have some fun he walked to his Porsche, opened the door and sat down in the driver seat. He put a key in the ignition, turning the key slowly starting the engine. A full tank of gas, read the gauge. He smiled and thought this will be fun. He drove to a girls house that he had been working on for a month, she lets himfeed from her at will but then again its not like he needed her permission. Once he gotten to her house he stayed there till night fall feeding from her. Once she was passed out, he left and started driving around the city trying to be as wild as he can to cause some attention hoping that the hunter will take notice and do something soon.

The Engine reved highly several times as he keeps powersliding the car, and draffting all just to cause attention. He stopped at a light, not because it was red but because the fact that he was getting bored. He was hoping that by now the hunter would be working on his assignment.

Revelation had found himself wandering for quite a while, the only reoccurring thing that happened to bother him was the jackass pulling stupid stunts in the streets, though they may have been pretty much empty save for the expensive looking vehicle Revelation still found it a stupid idea. He would glare over at the car whenever he did happen to see it, and frown intensely, though he for the most part ignored it. It drove out of sight quickly enough though and he was sure that was it and he wouldn't have to deal with stupid drivers on the street for the rest of the night.

Of course luck wasn't on his side this night as he found out for the third time this night as he saw the Porsche again stopped at a green light. How frustrating, no one bothered to wait behind him, other people weren't that stupid, but this guy was really started to tick Revelation off. He looked down at the ground and smirked as he saw a discarded pop can littered on the sidewalk, he changed his path slightly to move towards it. This guy being the jackass he seemed to be hadn't moved and Revelation took this as his time to strike kicking the can in a swift almost unnoticeable motion, getting just enough air to make it to the passenger side window. Revelation smirked as he went to stand at the cross walk and wait for the signal to cross. Wondering if he would have to actually go and yell at this guy in the end or not.

Shinigami grabbed the bent can that was used to shatter the window of his lovely porshe and then thought, could this be from the hunter? is he so close that he gotten annoyed with my antics? or is this just by some mistake? He opens the door on the driver side of his porshe and dropped the can on the road beside him and got out the car slowly. He looked around trying to see if he could find someone that would stand out. All hunters from the past did something to give themselves away, or wore things that sets off the alarms in his head. He saw one guy (talking about Revelation) that seemed to fit the "doesnt fit here" category.

So he grabbed one of his throwing daggers from the compartment on his leg and thows it at the man, but has no intent of hitting him. To Shinigami this is only a test, what would the person do? will he just get hit by a stray dagger and die, would he catch it, avoid it,throw it back. The choices are endless. But one thing that Shinigami knows for sure that there will be a certain look on the hunter's face if thats the hunter. Something like a shocked look, or amazed look. Right after throwing the dagger he places his elbows on the top of the car and rests his head on one of his hands as if watching a movie that he has already seen like a million times.

Revelation tried to pay no attention to the car as he waited for the signal to cross the street. Though he did notice the man get out of the car, he glanced over in his direction, and frowned, his eyes widening under his bangs. He flicked his head slightly hoping his long silver hair would cover most of his rather shocked face. He tried to keep an eye on this guy in his peripheral vision, he watched as the man reached for a weapon. Revelation looked away and let out a small sigh as the signal changed and he could walk across the street, he walked in a rather quick fashion with the few people who were also waiting, just perfectly timing it so the dagger whizzed by his head. Even more to his luck it hit some random woman instead, he could use the sudden panic to either blend in or escape. Since he had a feeling this guy had been aiming for him in the first place, he decided to blend in. He turned around and joined the group of people who were now swarming around the lady.

Watching the dagger whizz by the mans head meant that he was completely unaware of the dagger and he isnt the hunter or the hunter is a really bad hunter. But he looked a little closer and saw that the man is in shock, could that be the hunter or is he in shock about something else? Afterall he didnt pay the dagger any mind.

Shinigami looked at the woman that got hit with the dagger and started laughing thinking that it was funny how she got hit and fell. She was hit in the head and she fell over like a fresh cut log. He wanted to test the man again and see if he just got lucky or if he ignored the dagger and simply avoided it. So reaches into the sheathe for the daggers and grabs two more and throws both of them at the same time. The way he threw them made it so that they will split about a foot apart and hit the man. He timed it just right so he would make sure that he will hit his target. all he has to do now is watch, would the daggers hit the man or would he block them?

Revelation didn't take his eyes off this guy who seemed to be laughing, how cruel. Revelation let out a short sigh as he noted the fact that this guy, who he was now sure was his target, pulled out more throwing daggers, how annoying. Should he just let him hit him...No, he didn't want a handicap if this all did lead to a fight. He sighed as he took out his own dagger, much larger then the ones being thrown, with a rather fancy looking curved blade. Looking up again just in time to be able to parry the blades coming his way. Revelation stood up tall as he looked over at this man who was his target. "You might want to watch where you throw those. You're going to hurt someone." Revelation stated in a cocky tone of voice, a glare set on this dark haired man.

Shinigami took out another dagger while smiling and trying to hold back his laughter while saying,"oh, im sorry. When you say hurt do you mean like this?" He then threw a dagger and hit a woman in the arm with the dagger, right after he retrieves another dagger and said,"or do you mean like this?" He threw the next dagger at a mans head instantly killing him while watching him fall with blood squirting out his head.

Then Shinigami looks at the man and said,"so hunter, will you die quickly like the rest or do you wanna run some and die exhausted?" Shinigami pulls out four daggers and places three between his fingers and takes the fourth one and places it in his other hand to use it to stab if he needed to. While holding the one dagger, he picks up the pistol and places it in the holder on his leg and clips a button on it to keep it shut and then said,"You hunters stick out like a pregnant girl around a bunch of skinny women."

Shinigami keeps a smile on his face and then said,"so what have they told you about me?" He paused and said,"oh wait! let me guess, they didnt tell you much did they? they probably gave you a photo that was really crappy didnt they?" Right now Shinigami is tottally enjoying this, its not often that he gets to have some fun, he is looking forward to this entirely.

Revelation just frowned as he watched him throw two daggers at other people, one of them dieing instantly. There was suddenly a bit of a panic as people started to run away, not wanting to be the next one to succumb to the tortures this man seemed to be handing out. Revelation took in a sharp breath through his mouth and slowly released it through his nose as he tried to keep himself from lashing out. Calm, cool and collected, the best way to look professional.

Revelation was silent as this guy rambled on and seemed to be getting himself prepared for a fight while Revelation simply twirled the dagger in his hand a couple times waiting for this guy to simply shut up. When he finally did Revelation sighed, "You talk far to much. As for information I've been told, I've pretty much only been told that you're not human. Luckily for you, I barely am as well." Revelation said his frown turning into a cocky smirk.

Shinigami found this guy very intresting, maybe he will just toy with this guy for a little while before killing him, after all its been years since anyone came to kill him. Shinigami looks down at his legs and makes sure his weapons are strapped on him and then looks at the guy that came to kill him and smiles with a freakish smile. He has something on his mind, something that he finds very amusing and cute.

Shinigami sits down on the driver seat and then takes the car out of park while closing the driver door, he looks at the guy and puts his left hand on the wheel. He puts the car in reverse and presses the gas pedal quickly making the car jerk back instantly, he whips the steering wheel and the car powerslides and turns into the opposite direction, while doing so he shifts from reverse to drive and bolts off making sure to look behind him to see if the guy is following him. To Shinigami this is just a joy ride, so why not make it fun? Afterall he loves to drift, so why not show off some fancy difting skills?

He drives down three blocks and goes all the way to the left side of the road and taps the e-brake while turning to the left which sends the car into a extremely wide drift on a road that turns into a sharp left turn, doing 75 on a ramp thats made for 35, he keeps the car turned at an extremely sharp angle for the drift that he is doing. He gets off the ramp and taps the break ever so lightly and sends the car into another powerslide that ends up in a cross drift where he is drifting on the roads in an "S" shape. To him all this is just to show off, he presses a button on the consol on the driver door and the window goes all the way down while thinking, once he is behind me I will do a 360degree drift and throw a few daggers at him to tease him and keep playing cat and mouse for a little while.

Shinigami didnt care about looking professional, all he cares about is having fun. He liked how the guy said that he isnt human, this made him wanna fight more than ever. most humans he fought in the past would die with a few bullets or a punch or two and they where done, hopes are that this guy can take a beating and keep going.

Revelation simply sighed and put his dagger back in its sheath on the back of his belt as this guy got back in his car and tore off. He hated it when people were like this, so cocky, thinking they can get away with anything, and he knew this guy wouldn't be any different until he was dead on the floor. At least he hadn't said anything this time. Revelation didn't know how he was going to keep up with the car...no, he knew he wouldn't be able to and he would have to find another way to get at this guy. He sighed, hating how he was now at a disadvantage because out of all the things he had learned though his life, driving hadn't been one of them, and though he had the money he never even thought about buying a car because he had always been fine walking/running wherever he needed to go. He decided with going into a sort of hiding and waiting for this guy to simply get bored and come looking for him. Revelation would rather not take on a guy in a car. He made his way into an alley and made his way up a ladder on the side. He could wait it all out up here. Once on the rooftop he took out the ribbon tied loosely in the back of his hair and retied all of his hair up, forcing most of it out of his face as he waited to see what this guy and his show-offish attitude would do after a while when he realized no one was following him.

Shinigami had his doubts that the hunter wasnt following him, but hewasnt sure. THen it came to him that maybe the guy cant drive. He thougth this was funny. He didnt wanna put the guy at an insane disadvantage so once Shinigami was sure that nobody was following him, he made the car go into an insane drift that ended up parking it in the middle of an empty parking lot for some store. He then got out of the car and started walking to the nearest beach, he wanted to do something before he fought, something he has always done. He takes his time walking to the beach, in no hurry.

Once his feet touched the sand, he stopped and looked around to see if anyone was there. Once hemade sure that nobody was there but him, he walked up to the water and let the water wash up on his boots. The cool sea brease brushed against his face and upper body, he found this to be very relaxing. He only does this before a fight, to relax him.

After about ten minutes, he turns around and walks back to the parking lot; but instead of going to the car he just starts walking around waiting for something to happen.

Having been following his target from the rooftops Revelation made his way as close to him as he could. This inhuman creature got out of his car and Revelation took a gun off his belt, of course he had had it worked on a good few times to increase the firepower and range, of course it had a large cost both money wise and physically, but he figured because of of his ability he wouldn't have to worry about it, and he was right. He aimed the weapon but the guy just walked away making Revelation lower his weapon and watched as he walked off. Revelation followed but a good way behind, not wanting to be found right of the bat.

A beach? This guy wasn't very serious about all this was he. Revelation sighed from the alley he happened to occupy right now, he sat against the wall for a second and thought, maybe this guy had a sort of affinity for water, and now that he had been to visit the ocean he would be able to defeat Revelation no problem, or maybe Revelation was just thinking a bit to far into all this. He sighed and looked back at the beach his target was gone, he frowned. He got up and started to make his way back.

Back up on the rooftops he scouted out as much of the area as he could, the guy hadn't gone back to his car, which did surprise Revelation a little bit and it took all of the albinos will power to not go beat up this object he seemed so obsessed with. Revelation would like to see him do fancy drifting with a beat up beyond repair vehicle. But, he didn't and he continued to go look for this guy, he was going to find him. Hopefully before the hunter became the hunted.

Revelation ended up finding the guy not far from the parking lot where he had parked his car and was glad he had decided against going and wrecking the car. Revelation took one of the guns off his belt again. If he was lucky he could finish this with one shot. From his rooftop hiding spot he aimed for his targets head and fired.

He heard the gunfire immediately after the trigger was pulled, a smiled swept accross his face and said,"show time." He thought of various things that he could do to make this fun, but the one thing that intrested him the most was the guy's gun. It was bigger than normal, he could tell it was modded and by the judges of how fast the bullet is going he could tell that the range and power had been upgraded.

He side stepped to the left and the bullet whized by missing no more than a few inches from him. Of course he could have moved sooner and missed it by a whole foot, but why show off your best tricks in the begining? The way he saw it, why not act like your sluggish and make the hunter feel like he has the upper hand and then take it up a notch? This had always baffled the previous hunters.

The bullet missed him and hit the back of his car, Shinigami looked at the car and said,"come on man, if your gonna hit me then shoot me... dont take it out on the car." He meant it as a joke, its not the first time the car had been shot at and he could easily pay to get it fixed. He only meant it to torment the hunter. Partof him liked to get on there nerves while the other part just talks to them and play around.

He pulled another dagger out from its sheathe and then said,"if you think your gonna miss then use more, otherwise dont waste your ammo." He used some of his strength and hurled the dagger at him, sending it flying at him like a bullet. He liked daggers because he could throw them faster than bullets and they where always silent and got the job done. Right after throwing the dagger he took out another one, but this one is different.

A smile whipped accross his cheek and said,"well that was the last of my regular daggers, I guess its time I use the real ones." By that he had meant how each one has a small charge that makes the daggers split up and turn into little splinters. Even though they would turn into splinters, they would do an insane amount of damage, nothing to kill anything other than small animals but humans... well it would just leave them bloody and hurtin, but still livin. He didnt want to use his pistol, at least not right now. He stopped using regular ammo, the standard ones. He replaced them with Armor piercing, and he loved how they worked. The last hunter he fought was thefirst one he used them on. the thing could punch through bones like a hot knife through butter. Funny part was, the guy he shot was wearing armor.

He stood there in the same spot and said,"its your move kid, lets see how well you move." He was treating it like they where playing chess, and he loved it. he grabbed another dagger, now holding one in each hand while watching for anything to happen, expecting the worst, welcoming anything that he had to give.
