A Sight to See

So Nathaniel was thinking now that Americans were potentially good kissers. Maybe a bit better than the ones he had known in Britain. Maybe it was just the person he was kissing or because he had more interest in who he was with. His hands ran through Draylen's soft hair, his tongue was darting out experimentally to touch Dray's lips or even a bit inside them. He was marveled at the feeling and the action. He was starting to recall he had gotten up to leave before asked to leave, but he really didn't want to go now that he had become engaged in this action.

Draylen let out a content sigh, the ghost having left his mind completely, especially since it wasn't in the room anymore. He let out a soft moan when he felt the fingers in his hair, his tongue slipping out to brush against Nathaniel's a bit hesitantly when he felt the reader's own exploring. There was no way he wanted Nath to leave him now, but he knew it was going to have to happen eventually.

Their bodies were pressed close together and they were connected by the lips, what more could he have wanted to be happy right now? He hadn't even been sure how happy this would have made him, he just went for it. Maybe ambition like this should be used more in the case of uncertainty. If that made sense at all. He was passionate about this, he'd always acted half asleep when he was performing any sort of task like this with others, but now he acted like he was wide awake.

Draylen was so concentrated on their shared touches and kisses that he didn't notice when they gained an audience. A laugh was the thing that alerted the green eyed boy to his mother's prescence, which was odd for him. Normally, he knew when people were around, being more in tune to those things. He pulled away from Nathaniel, his face flushing, the back of his fist covering his mouth, and eyes wide. "You two are so cute" Draylen's mother said with another laugh, not at all bothered by what she had walked in on.
"Mom!" Dray blushed even more, shaking his head.
"What?" she asked innocently, "Am I not allowed to compliment you?" she teased. He shook his head, unable to help but let out a rather embarassed laugh.

Nathaniel had heard her about the same time Draylen had heard her, and he, like his boyfriend, was rather stunned at the lack of perception that she had been there. She had also caught him kissing her son. Some parents might feel awkward about him being technically an adult and Dray being more of a teenager. His flush probably matched Draylen's, if not less since it wasn't his mother. If it had been, it would be more than embarrassment for him. He cleared his throat lightly in nervousness. "Ah, hullo, Miss. I was just going." He looked at the partner who he had been thoroughly distracted by and smiled slightly.

Draylen couldn't help but reach for Nathaniel's hand, seeing the blush on his face as well. "You don't have to leave on my account" Dray's mother shook her head, giving a laugh. She didn't want to be the reason her son's boyfriend was leaving, but if he was already on his way, then that was fine. Draylen smiled up at Nath, glad that his mom seemed to like him already. His eyes flicked to the door, watching the ghost walk past in the hallway, still in his circut, before back to Nathaniel, smile still on his face, being in his boyfriend's prescence giving him comfort.

"You aren't making this any sort of doddle, you must know," Nathaniel told him with a gentle smile, lightly and playfully chastising him. "Your family wants you to themselves, I'm sure." He turned his attention to Draylen's mother, she didn't seem to mind the hold up. "I did have my turn for your time and attention, after all. If I want to stick around as the boyfriend who doesn't hold up all of your time, I best go and allow them some privacy with you." Although his mother had kind of walked in on their privacy... Well, it was their house, he supposed it was his fault for not remembering that before having a make out session with his new boyfriend.

"Umm. . . doddle?" Draylen repeated in confusion, looking up at Nathaniel and trying to remember if he had ever heard his boyfriend use this term before. He was fairly sure he hadn't. He let out a light sigh and pout at the words that followed. "Okaaay" he replied a bit reluctantly, not wanting Nath to leave him. Sure, he was going to have fun out with his family, but he loved spending time with the Reader. "I'll see you at work tomorrow then? Or I might call you later, depending on what time I get home, kay?" he tilted his head to the side, waiting for Nathaniel to either confirm or deny his plans.

"Sure, cheers doll," he replied, pulling him into a brief hug as not to hold up more of his time with his mother and father. He hadn't used a phone this much before, it was there in the event that a problem happened, but one never did so he ignored it. He gave a slightly awkward farewell to Dray's mum and headed for his car.

Nathaniel pulled Draylen's number on his phone, he'd been meaning to give him a ring all day. He waited for him to pick up before inviting him over. Draylen hadn't been to his house yet, and it was probably best to come over when his parents weren't over. His parents would more or less harass him to figure out if he was any good as a person.

"Okaay. Bye!" Draylen smiled, returning the brief hug, before Nathaniel was out the door and gone. He turned to his mother, who had a slight smirk on her face, which he was instantly weary of.
"Well aren't you two cute. You've sure hooked yourself a looker, Draylen. And he sure does have a way with words. . . doll" she winked at him and laughed before turning away, leaving the blushing brunette at the door, scowling at his mother's back, though he wasn't truly angry.

Glancing at the houses as he passed, Draylen tapped his fingers on the steering wheel, singing along softly to the radio. Nathaniel had called a while ago to invite him over, and he was on his way, with the directions he had been given. Pulling up to the right adress, he parked his car on the curb just in case, and headed up to the door. He pushed the doorbell and clasped his hands behind his back, patiently waitin for Nathaniel to answer.

Nathaniel had occupied himself with reading until Draylen came around. He heard the doorbell chime off, he dropped the book after a glance at the page to recall where he was at, then answered the door. His dogs instantly went crazy at the sound of it, he watched them charge out of the room and head for the door, barking their heads off. To his knowledge, Leland was in his room doing whatever, so he had no worries about family seeing his secret boyfriend. He smiled at his American boyfriend looking pleasantly for him. "Draylen, 'lo there." He opened the door wider to offer him in. "My parents are out and my brother is quiet, we more or less have the house to ourselves." He moved the dogs barking and growling at Draylen so the younger male might find it easier to enter. "They don't bite, but in the event, don't offer them your hands."

Draylen heard the barking on the other side of the door, and tilted his head to the side, remembering that he got to meet Nath's dogs now. From how deep their voices were, he figured that they were very large dogs. His mouth twitched slightly. Dray wasn't a fan of large dogs as much as other people. He was a cat person. He grinned when the door was opened, greeting his boyfriend. The grin faltered slightly when he saw the great danes, but he kept his hands behind his back where they were, stepping forward. "Umm, alright?" he said, unsure of what to think of that. He would keep it in mind to keep his hands to himself though.

"Bodge up, would you?" he commanded to the canines who were evidently making Draylen uncomfortable. They weren't barking so much as being excited and jumping around to see who the stranger was. They were fairly intelligent, so if Draylen came over enough they'd greet him like family. They'd get tired of Draylen eventually. They'd be wary of him and keep their eyes on him, but they'd stop being so curious once they were sure he wasn't intending harm at the moment. "It's nice to see you again," he told the other male, trying to relax him a bit. The more nervous Draylen was, the longer the dogs were curious. The three of them were good at detecting the vibes coming from people, not that Draylen was all too discreet about his caution towards them.

Draylen glanced around the room quickly, before back to the dogs. He dragged his gaze back to Nathaniel when the Reader spoke, giving a smile. "Nice to see you too" he replied, grinning at him brightly before looking back down to the three great danes. "Your dogs are, ah, very. . . large" he commented, hoping his nervousness wasn't as obvious as it seemed to him. He wasn't used to dogs in general, and dogs as big as these weren't the best place for him to get started to get used to them.

"Large dogs are entertaining," Nathaniel said more or less to himself. He liked small animals too, but they were more fragile than the ones he had. He liked to wrestle with his dogs sometimes when they were feeling up for it and when he had the time. They liked the play-fighting and normally won when the three ganged up on him and kept him from moving much more. Much better than small cats who wouldn't ever want to wrestle in his opinion. Nathaniel gave Draylen a chaste kiss on the lips, pretty sure Leland wouldn't walk in, but was being careful anyway. There were plenty of rooms in the house they could do this and throw caution to the wind.

Draylen laughed slightly, knowing that Nathaniel felt that way, since he loved his dogs so much. He was still weary about the beasts, but he would try his best to ignore them. He had enough to deal with, being in a new place. He always felt weird being somewhere new, as his senses had to get used to the area, searching for supernatural life almost. He smiled brightly at the kiss he recieved, shaking his bangs from his bright green eyes. "Uhh, where should I put my shoes?" he asked, tilting his head to the side, always unsure when he was at somebody's house for the first time.

"Hm, doesn't bother me about shoes, but if you like, put them on the shelf. The dogs'll pinch them and II can't guarantee you'd get them back the way they arrived here." Of course they knew better with the family's shoes, it took a few pairs to show them that it was not okay to chew their shoes, but as it was, they had only learned the lesson to the extent of family-only. Guests either didn't take their shoes off or they put them up where the dogs couldn't find them and grab them to chew on and bury. Nathaniel generally walked around barefoot, but since Draylen was here and the chance of going out was possible whenever company came over, he wore his shoes. "Parents aren't here to tell you no walking through the house with shoes on anyway."

Draylen laughed slightly, giving the dogs another slightly uneasy glance before he removed his shoes, putting them on the shelf where indicated. "Yeah, but I always feel weird walking around someone's house with shoes on. Plus, its more comfortable without" Dray pointed out, giving a smile. "Alright, so where are we headed?" he asked, tilting his head and beaming up at his boyfriend, unsure of where in the house they would end up. He was always smiling around Nathaniel, except in very rare circumstances. Or his mouth was busy with other things.

"Feels awkward, almost impersonal to me to walk with just socks on, despite it being the point of politeness," he said, more or less to himself. "Anyways, my room if you like. Can't say there's plenty to do here, but perhaps we can find a thing or two do occupy time." Computer, chatting, whatever Draylen wanted to do. Nathaniel had patience, he could sit through whatever he had to, even if they sat in silence. He kind of doubted that though. They were a little bit past sitting there awkwardly, contemplating what to do next in their relationship. The dogs snuffled around them, curious and wary of Dray and the scent of feline hair. "You lot, bugger off," he told the three dogs who didn't leave, but did back off a little. They kept a distance from them, and when Nathaniel led Draylen to his room, he shut the door before the dogs could poke their nose in and sit on the floor or explore more of his boyfriend. That was for him to do, actually. No way would he let his dogs get to know more about Dray before he could.

Draylen laughed slightly at the idea of it being awkward to walk around in socks in someone else's house, but he found it completely normal. He stiffened up slightly when the dogs sniffed at him, taking a step closer to the British man. "Alright, lead the way" he smiled slightly, following close behind his boyfriend, casting a glance at the dogs who had backed off a little bit, thankfully. He followed up to Nath's bedroom, giving a slight sigh when the door was closed. "Your dogs are very, uh, pretty" he said with a slight laugh. He was slightly embarassed being afraid of them, and he was sure Nathaniel could tell that he was afraid, but they were still pretty dogs.

"They're gorgeous beasts when they aren't being pests," Nathaniel said, rolling his eyes. His dogs were lovable oafs, they were protective too. "Nothing like your cats. Your cats are nice, and they leave you alone." He sat against the bed frame on the floor, patting the spot next to him. "Sit here." He wasn't sure how to entertain this other male because they had different interests more or less. He pulled some of the things out of his pockets to avoid sitting on them. Keys were tossed on the bed, work ID, some spare change. He kept his tarot cards in hand, opening the cloth and shuffling through them. "I may not have the Sight like you do, but I can see my cards just fine." He smiled at the cards as they gave him a warm feeling of comfort.

Draylen laughed at the comment, nodding. "Yeah, my cats are pretty good. But Neko follows me everywhere I go. It's cute" he said with a grin, sitting down on the floor next to Nathaniel when he was instructed. He looked down at the cards in his boyfriend's hands, watching him shuffle them with a certain practiced ease. He leaned into Nath slightly, looking down at the cards smiling slightly and giving a light hum of agreement. "I've always found people reading tarot cards cool, but I can't do it myself. I never could get the hang of it" he said, shaking his long bangs back from his face.

"There's almost nothing to get the hang of," Nathaniel admitted, spreading the cloth out and setting them down. He slid them out so they were mostly showing, and with a hand free, he put it around Draylen's waist, loving the feeling of being able to hold his boyfriend close in his own house. Albeit no one was watching and could judge him so he could feel out and open about it, but it was a similar feeling. He couldn't begin to imagine how mad his parents would be, though he figured his mum had suspicions. "Basically all you do is memorize what the symbols mean, get connected to the cards, and you're good. I hate to admit it, but I think just about anyone could become a Reader." Which was why his gift didn't feel so special compared to Dray's Sight.

Draylen looked down at the cards, figuring he would be able to name maybe three of them. "Yeah, well that's the part I had problems with. . . I couldn't memorize the symbols, and I didn't connect to the cards, I don't think" he said, letting out a slight sigh. It was nice to have Nathaniel's arm around him like this. Rather comforting, in his opinion. "I think you're wrong" he argued, shaking his head, "There are so many idiots out there who wouldn't be able to. And plus, there's a difference between somebody who can look at the cards and tell you what they mean, and a Reader." Dray rested his chin on Nathaniel's shoulder lightly, looking up at him.

Nathaniel kissed Draylen on the lips chastely. "You think so?" Sometimes he was afraid to read his cards, just in case he got them wrong and it proved he wasn't really special or anything. "Well, at least we're both crazy. We make a nice crazy couple, don't you think?" He was wondering what card would best fit Draylen now, and he was kind of curious to read the cards and see how their relationship would go. He was almost kind of afraid of the answer, and if the answer would turn out wrong. The doorbell rang suddenly, and he jumped, not expecting anyone. He heard his dogs fly off the handle and storm for the door, the sound of their fading barks and nails tapping against the floor indicated they were just leaving the front of his bedroom door. Nathaniel knew Leland wouldn't get it, so he sighed. "I guess I should get it. Unless you want to come see who it is too? I dunno. Wait, maybe you don't wanna face the dogs."
