Devi was quickly and quietly cleaning all of the rooms in the inn. Devi a young woman at barley twenty knew nothing but hard work, and unforgiving guards. Her whole life they had occupied this land and ravished the people. No one had rights, and the women were treated more lowly then the animals. Her back was painfully bent over, but she didn’t dare complain, that is how her back got bent. Severe beatings had come to her when she had last complained, asking for a day off to deal with a high fever. Her fingers worked quickly to pull off the sheets and replace them with freshly cleaned ones. She ached all over. She was lucky though, she was allowed to work inside, and was not forced to work outside in the mines or forest. She gathered up the dirty sheets placed them in her bag and continued to the next room. She looked down, her dress that had once brushed against her ankles, now barely covered her knees; long ago she had cut off the sleeves of the dress relieving the pressure on her arms and making a head covering with the fabric to make a head band to stop the sweat from pouring into her eyes. Although now she had nothing to cover up the scars and bruises from the beatings that she had received. It had taken her a few times to get the rooms up to the guards’ standards.

She learned quickly though, work on their rooms first, make sure its prefect, and not to be in the way when they came in. She had finished the guards’ chambers and now was moving on to the other ones. The other rooms did not get as nice sheets, or as much as attention they basically got a quick sweep and new sheets, if anyone had slept there, not many could afford to though so her job was made slightly easier. Satisfied that this part of her job was done she picked up the heavy bag swung it over her shoulder and started to walk to the river behind the inn and wadded in the frigid water to her knees and started to clean the sheets, her legs already numb from the cold.

Devi had no choice though so she ignored the cold and continued to rub the meager soap on the sheets making sure it was clean and fresh. After that was done she took it to the line and swung it over it then walked back to the river with her head down trained not to raise her head. Taking the next sheet she repeated the same motions over again. Once it was clean she walked out and hung it over. She looked up for one quick moment, seeing someone on horseback quickly lowered her head and quickened her speed and walked back to the river working feverishly to get the sheets clean. A man on horseback was never good normally meant new guards to beat her more.

The harsh high afternoon sun was relentlessly burning down on her shoulders and neck, she did not stop working though, the sweat was pouring down her face brushing it away with her forearm. Her skin was red and peeling but she ignored the pain and continued working. This was her life and she knew it would never change.


((Please be the man on horse back you can be a new gaurd good, bad, or a vistior or what ever if you want you can play the other guards too and beat her for something or not))

The prince was in a hurry. He had to be at Dragon Gate in two days. He had left his escort behind as they were to slow with all the baggage and things they had to carry. Even his two must trusted body guards were some distance behind him. His horse was fast and strong. It could out run any normal horse and keep up the pace for alot longer. His two body guards were at least an hour maybe two behind him. His father had sent him to negotiate a treaty with the wild hordes beyond Dragon Gate. He wanted to get there before the Barbarian's emmasiry did so he could get the lay of the land.

Small raiding parties had managed to come over the mountains through trecherous paths. No large scale numbers could cross anywhere except for Dragon Gate and it was a fortress that could withstand any siege. Why his father wanted a treaty with the Barbarians he didn't know. Their solders could deal with the dirty scum that made it over the mountains. But he would do as his father commanded of him.

He finally reached the way station and the Inn there. It was guarded by some soldiers and run by a fat and greedy man that was well paid to have good food and a clean place for travelers and others that traveled between Dragon Gate and the city of Merchil. He rode in and brought his horse to a stop as the soldiers came running to see who would be riding so hard and past their sentrys As they came up to the Prince their weapons at the ready, they saw the royal emblem on the horse's flanks. Then they saw the prince and all went to one knee, bowing their heads.

"Highness, we were not informed that you would be arriving today." The captain said in a frightened tone.

The prince slide from the saddle and dropped the reigns from his hand. He patted the horses neck. "Rest my friend." then to the Captain, "Make sure my horse is rubbed down and fed well." he then passed a woman in the middle of the shallow river washing clothes. She looked tired and worn out, and he could see bruises and scars on her. He looked around and saw no other servant.

The fat man that ran the place came running out of the Inn, huffing and puffing as he reached the prince. "Oh your highness, forgive me for not having a feast ready for you. We did not expect you so soon." he was trembling as he bowed low before the prince. Then he moved to the woman in the river and yanked her from it. "Go you misserbale wench, prepare the prince's room. He took a small whip and hit her on the back with it once and then as he tried again the prince grabbed the mans wrist applying pressure to it till he dropped the whip.

"Where are all the other servants that you are suppose to have here?" the prince asked, a bit of anger in his voice. He kept hold of the mans wrist and the man whined from the pain. He began mumbling something but the prince cut him off. "You are being well paid to run this place and keep a staff here to make things comfortable. I think it is time to have a change of Inn Keeper. You have been pocketing the money that is being given you to pay for a staff of men and women." he pulled the man up to the Inn to a wide eyed guard. "Place this man in chains and shackle him in the stables. The Guard licked his lips and bowed his head before grabbing the man to do as the prince had ordered.

Then he yelled for the Captain, "Captain!" again his voice held the tone of anger.

The sun beating down on her Devi continued to work hard; she was beyond tired, had a fever and was sure that many of her wounds were infected but she didn’t dare to stop she was already behind in her duties. She was struggling to catch up but the sun beating down on her was raising her fever. She brought another clean sheet to the line. She noticed a man coming her way and tumbled back into the water and quickly began cleaning the last sheets that she had to do. A visitor was never good news, meant more beatings and less food and less sleep for Devi. Visitors always required something, food from the kitchen, beer, anything and everything but of course Devi would keep silent and not complain, she should be grateful that part and been beat into her. She had been allowed to sleep inside, but that was only in case someone needed something. There were guards all around, she escape was out of the question, she had found that out the hard way, they had taken turns beating her until she was sure she was going to die. But death never came to her that would mean mercy. She never got mercy.

She could still feel the eyes on her and chanced a look backwards, her face bruised and burned from the sun but she quickly whipped her head around seeing the innkeeper running her way her heart was beating quickly. Had he seen her pause for that second? If he did more beatings and whippings were about to come her way. Stupid Devi stupid you know better to stop! She screamed to herself. You are going to get it now She told herself.

She continued to work but suddenly she was ripped out of the river roughly and screamed at, to that she barely flinched screaming was a part of her life had been from the time she could remember. She nodded bowing down “Yes Sire I will get on it right now” She turned to leave but felt the whip come down on her flesh she fell to the ground as it tore open her back forcing it to bleed again, the welts on her back becoming fully visible now. She tensed her body up waiting for the second on as she lay there but it never came. The man was talking now she dared to open her eyes the inn keeper was being lead away. Devi was convinced that this was just a feverish image and it wasn’t really happening.

He was calling for the captain it was then that Devi remembered that the innkeeper had called him prince so Devi quickly stood ignoring the searing pain and bowed low. “Forgive me Prince I shall get to your room immediately” She turned to leave but she stumbled she did her best to cover it up but it was clear that a lack of nutrition, her beatings, the harsh sun had taken a toll on her. She was only grateful that the fever she was battling could not be seen, or so she hoped. “Your majesty I promise you that your room will be ready in 10 minutes, I can make it quicker if you need it.” She turned to leave again but he was blocking her way so she bowed again. “I am very sorry your room is not ready” She was shaking slightly convinced that he was going to beat her too.

The captain came running and passed the guard taking the Inn Keeper away. A worried look crossed his face as he saw the Inn Keeper. When the woman asked to be forgiven and that she would have his room ready, he took her by the arm and stopped her. "You stay here. My servants when they arrive will take care of that." The captain slowed his approach and again went to one knee before the prince. "What is your part in this Captain? Why did you not report the Inn Keeper for not keeping a full staff and pocketing the money?" The prince drew his sword and placed the point of it at the captains neck.

"Your highness...... I can explain...... I," he began and the prince cut him off.

He looked at the woman and saw how she had been beaten and treated. He shook his head. He then looked back down at the captain. "You know my father frowns upon mistreating the people." he brought the sword up to the mans chin and lifted the mans head with the blade. "Look at this woman!" The captains eyes flickered quickly to the woman and then down to the ground. "Woman, who else besides the Inn Keeper has mistreated you?" he asked.

About then his two body guards rode up and saw their prince with his sword out and the captain of the guard of the Inn on his knees. They knew something was wrong and they dismounted quickly and made their way to their prince. Before they got there he called to them. "Round up the other guards and bring them to me. Every last one of them!" he ordered. The two men hastened to do as their prince commanded.

Seeing the captain coming Devi began to visabley shake, she was clearly scared of the captain and was wanting to escape what was to be a bad beating but with the Prince blocking her way she had no where to go. She had not finished the sheets, nor had she finished the rooms, or the horse stables, she was far behind and here she was standing around, that would mean no food for three days, and she would have other punishments as well. She heard the Prince talking but his voice seemed far away. She blinked and looked up at him she curtised “Of course your majasty” She was still shaking as the captain got closer.

She bowed her head as low as she could to the captain. The prince was still holding on to her arm so she couldn’t fully bow but she kept her head down. She watched the Captain take a knee in front of the Prince. She was feeling more and more ill and weak but refused to let it show. Even if the Prince would have his servants do his room, she still had the other rooms to do and the horse stables. And tend to the armors, and then the fires and of course feeding the Guards. She really didn’t have time to stand around like this.

As he brought the sword to the Captains chin, Devi tensed up. Surely she would be next. Barely hearing his questions Devi didn’t know how to answer, she could tell the truth and risk getting punished when he left, or lie and no one lied to royalty. She stumbled over her words “I uhh I” but the words would not form, in the presence of the captain she was frightened,

It was then that She noticed his bodyguards and she bowed her head to them too even when they were a ways off. When the Prince ordered the guards to be rounded up Devi swallowed hard and chewed her bottom lip. Something big was about to happen but she was teetering on the edge on consciousness. She kept her head low in the prince “Your highness, most ignore me, it is manly the innkeeper and the” She paused as the Captain looked at her with a warning glance. Devi shook and whispered so hopefully only the Prince could hear “The captain, and a few of the head guards, When ever I make a mistake if their rooms were not ready, or mainly anything your Majesty I was hidden from most of the others, many of the young ones especially have no idea I exist” She curtsied again. She was rocking on her feet.

The captain growled. “Your Majesty she lies, we give her a roof over her head and food the little wrench is only excepted to tend to the rooms is that so much to ask?” Devi wanted to cry out that it was him that was lying but she kept silent. She had learned never to speak out of turn, So instead she bowed again keeping her head down while the guards were running to them and bowing to the Prince. Many of the head guards glared at Devi. While the younger ones pointed and gasped at her then remembering their manners bowed to the Prince. Devi had kept her head down and waited to see what the Prince would do.

The Captain was stammering still about how evil and ungrateful Devi was. Devi was swaying very noticeably now barely aware of what was happening around her. Suddenly one of the young gaurds cried our “Your Highness the lady is about to faint” Just as the words left his mouth everything went dark for Devi and she felt the world rushing towards her. The captain sputtered out “See she is Lazy” The young Guard rushed forward and felt her forehead. “Mi Lord she is running a fever” He looked up at the Prince. “Believe me you Majesty many of us had no idea she was there, the captain told us that she had run away” Devi was murmuring and now shivering as her body was being ravished by the fever. Many of the younger guards faces were drained of colour clearly scared and worried for the poor woman. The ones responsible shfted their feet nervously.

The prince listened to the captain ramble on about how lazy the woman was, as his body guards rounded up the other guards. Both men had their swords drawn and the looks on the faces of the guards told the prince they were scared. To be summoned before the king or the prince of the land with bared steel did not bode well. As he waited, he again spoke to the captain. "You have not reported the fraud the Inn Keeper has been perpatrating. You therefore are more then likely in league with him. Why should I believe anything you say? Be grateful I do not behead you myself right now." he kept the sword at the mans throat.

When the others guards reached him he could see the look on four of their faces that told him that they were also with the captain on it. The other four, younger and newly assigned guards looked bewildered and scared. When one called out about the woman. The prince turned slightly amd saw her fall to the ground. When one of the young guards rushed forward, he felt her brow and told the prince she was running a fever. Looking over at his body guards, "Take these four." he pointed to the older guards, "and the captain. Chain them with the Inn Keeper and disarm them." Turning to the younger guards, "You four help them, then report back to me. Understand." he gave them a hard stare.

They quickly disarmed the four other guards and the captain and took them away. Shaking his head the prince bent down and picked the woman up into his arms and carried her into the Inn. Finding the first room he came to he entered it and laid her on the bed. He then went to a table against the wall where a pitcher of water and bowl sat along with towels and cloths. Pouring some water into the bowl he dipped a cloth into it and took it back to the woman. He washed her face with the cool water on the rag and then her neck and down further over her exposed portion of her tits.; He looked her over as he was doing it and smiled. She wasn't bad looking nor displeasing to the eye. She had large tits and a shapely body from what he could see.

He again dipped the cloth into the water and folded it after he rang it out some and placed it on her forehead. About that time the four young guards came up to the door. "Enter." he told them. When they came into the room, "You four will insure that the prisoners do not escape, and are cared for until my entaroge arrives. When they do, you will give my Steward my orders to leave five people here to tend to the Inn until they are releived by others that will be sent. You will tell the Captain of the soldiers with the caravan to send a man back to my father informing him of what has happened here. I will have a written report that he will take. Also you will inform the Captain that the prisoners are to be taken in chains with them to Dragon Gate." he looked at one then to the other as he spoke making sure that all four understood his commands. "Now you." he pointed to the young guard that had rushed to the woman's side. "You will tend to her until the fever is broken. When she wakes you will come get me." then tot he other three. "You three back out there on guard duty. " The men bowed and left and the one bowed his head and began to change the cloth on the woman's head.

The prince then left the room and went into the kitchen and rummaged around. He found meat, cheese, bread, wine and some fresh vegtables. Placing them on a platter he took it all into the Inn's common room and sat it on a table. One of his body guards came in, "What do you intend to do with the guards and inn keeper, highness?"

Placing food on a large plate he handed it to the man. "Have them tried and either executed or sent to the mines. Now take this to Ramon and the two of you eat and take shifts watching the prisoners. We leave in the morning. Those four young guards should be able to guard the prisoners until my caravan gets here." Fixing another plate he took it back to the room where the woman was. "Eat and make sure she eats something when she awakens." he told the guard

The voices around her seemed far away she could barely understand them, it sounded as if she was underwater. Even in her fevered state she knew she had a lot to do punishment for not finishing would be servere and she couldn’t lay around she struggled to lift her head but that was too hard then she tried to stand but the young guard seemed to hovering over her. His cool hand felt great on her forhead. Her throat was parched and her eyes were desended, her burises had brusises many cut marks were open and festering some even infected. She didn’t have the strength in her to even open her eyes but she kept struggling. To do so. She tried to focus on the sounds around her, she heard the Prince ordering gaurds around she was confused. Nothing made sense but now she was gettng frightened too. If the Prince was ordering the gaurds to be taken away at the point of a sword what would happen to her?

Next she knew she was being picked up. She blinked still trying to fight to come out of her unconciousness state. She felt herself being placed on the bed and she began to whimper, layng on a bed would warrant a big beating, she had only done it once and they nearly killed her. She attempted to shake her head and get up but she was too weak and everytime she moved her body seered in pain. When the cold water touched her face she gasped. The more he cleaned away the dust and dirt from her face the scratches on her face and burises on her face came more visable. When he moved to her breasts she sighed still mostly unconcious but visabliy trying fight back to conciousness she she could finish the job. Feeling the cloth on her head her body shivered violently but she willed her body to stop.

She heard the other gaurds come in and attempted to recoil but she was still too weak she listened to what was being said her heart quickened was the prince really going to rid her and this place of the evils? No it was too good to be true. She felt the new cloth being applied to her forhead. It was helping but was not used to such a gentle touch and her body was trembling excepting him to strike her like all the others.

She smelled the food when it was brought and when the Prince’s footsteps fadded away and she was sure she was alone her eyes flutted opened she relized where she was, the Captains room she gasped and sat up quickly. “Oh god he is going to kill me” The guard sat up quickly and tried to calm her but Devi was freaking out her breathing was rapid she notced the blood on the sheets from her back wounds and she cried out. “ I need to clean this” She attempted to stand but the guard gently put his hands on her shoulders. “Your Majasty” he called out. But Devi shook her head “No please I will get to it I promise I don’t know what happened but I promise I will get it done” She again attempted to stand.

The Guard knowing it wasn’t his place to put his hands on a woman, especially one that has been beaten this bad had to make the choice, deciding quickly he went to the door way and called again for the Prince a urgency in his voice. Devi meanwhile had stripped the bed and remade the bed in up 90 seconds she had become really quick at it. She walked to the young guard then, still very weak and sick. “I finshed” her voice was filled with fear and she was shaking. The guard unsure on what to do and feeling pity for her and anger to the ones that did this again had to think quick on his feet before the prince came back. He gently brought a finger to Devi’s chin. “My child” he spoke the only endearing term he could think of. “I would like you to sit down and eat” Devi blinked confused. “Sire?” The term she had to use for every guard and visitor that came in. The young guard smiled “My name is Nathenal” Devi tettered on her feet still too weak. So Nathenal lead her back to the bed. Devi begain to shake again “No I will get blood on the bed” Nathanal shook his head “The Prince told me to get you to eat” Not wanting to disobey the Prince she sat down still very wavering and shaky and brought a piece of cheese to her mouth.

The guard wondering where the prince was stood again and went to the door to call for him again, if he didn’t see him he would have to go and look for him, which would mean leaving Dani, who would likely go back to cleaning. He had a feeling that it was her that did all the cleaning, he had never seen a stable boy or a cook or anything. So it would make sense if she had been doing everything, the horse stables, the rooms the guard shook his head how could he have been so stupid? Okay so he had been stationed on the far wall, far away from everything to do wth the Inn, but he still felt responsible.

Devi was watching the guard worridly was this some strange trick? She didn’t know him though, he wasn’t one of the gaurds that beat her, or even the ones that lived in the inn. He was defiently a different one, a younger one, fresher, he hadnt gotten hotheaded. She looked at the other food the guard seeing it turned and smiled. “Go ahead have some more” Devi quickly as if frightened he would change his mind reached out and grabbed a piece of meat and put it to her lips and slowly chewed it. But her lips still being parched coughed. The guard leaving his post at the door poured a cup of water and held it to her lips. Devi gratefully took sips. Nathenial clicked sympathatically. “When was the last time you ate?” Devi bowed her head “Four days” Nathaentel had to hide his anger so not to frighten her. Then helped her drink more he noticed the wounds, she needed medical attention but he had to speak to the Prince frist. For he did not know where the medical kits would be.


((ooc I figured that either the Prince came and was hanging around for ths all getting more insght on what she has been through or the guard goes and looks for him and then Devi goes to the horse stable and they find her working there so the Prince gets even more insight and she had worked through fevers before so either way its belivable but the Guard should be reassureed))

The prince had not gone far when he heard the woman call out and the guard talk to her. He had walked down to the next room and opened the door and looked in. The room like the other one was not to large but comfortable. The main thing was a comfortable bed for the weary traveler. That and a good hot meal which at times one could not have on the road. He listened to what the woman was saying and how the guard was trying to get her to lay back down. It was quite evident the woman was frightened and expected to be beaten and worse. The concern in the guard's voice only confirmed that he had not been in on any of it which pleased the Prince.

The second time the guard went to the door and called for him he exited the room and walked the few feet down to the room. He placed a hand on the guards shoulder, and gave the man a slight smile. "Go down to the stables and have my men give you the saddle bags off my horse." He had seen her injuries eariler but wanted to wait till she was awake to treat her. As the guard left the prince looked over at the woman. "Continue eating and drinking. You are then to rest, you will not be working no more today. The Captain and four of the guards are in chains with the Inn Keepe so you have nothing to worry about."

As he waited for the guard to return he moved behind her and saw through the torn dress her back. There were half healed wounds from being whipped. As he pulled the rest of the tattered dress apart to reveal the rest of her back, "It appears that after I tend to what ever I can that you will probably need to see a doctor. There is one at Dragon Gate that I know is quite good. He has been said to be able to even remove certain scars." he went over to the table again and took another cloth and soaked it with water and brought it over with a towel. He gently began to clean her back up, opening up the festering wounds and cleaning them.

"When the guard returns I have some ointment that should help heal these up fairly fast. What is your name?" he asked her as he moved the top of the dress further down her arms so he could make he got all the cuts and such. By the time the guard returned she was partly disrobed. The prince could see more of her large tits and her back was completely bare now. The young guards face went red a bit and the prince grinned. "Do not be shy." he told the young man. He was probably just 18 years of age, the prince only being a few more years older then that. The guard entered and his eyes went wide at the sight of the abuse the woman had gone through.

The prince took the saddle bags and opened one side and took out some ointment. He applied it to the cleaned cuts. "Let the ointment take effect and then you are to go get a nice hot bath and return here to rest some more." he reached around taking her chin in a hand and lifting it up to look at him. "That is a royal command." he gave her a slight smile. "For now rest some and eat." he looked down again at her tits, now almost completely visable. He liked what he saw. "Then tomorow you will accompany my body guards and myself to Dragon Gate."

With that he took the guard out of the room and closed the door to give her some privacy. "Join the other three guards. She will be alright for now. The fever is mainly due to her being over worked and not eating properly." The guard looked at the prince and nodded. He had not known that royalty could care so much about an ordinary person. He had always thought they were so uppity and ordinary people were so far beneath them. But the prince did not seem that way at all. He left the prince and joined his comrades.

As the Prince entered Devi stood and attempted to curtsied but just ended up back on the bed having fallen backwards. Confused she brought a hand to her head but then quickly bowed her head. She had never seen Royalty before but she knew that he would demand and deserve respect. She kept her head bowed low not dare rising to make herself equal to him. When he made his statement, Devi spoke with a trembling voice. “You Majesty I have only fed the horses once today, they need to fed again, and their stalls scooped out and” She paused. “The Captain rode his horse too hard and the poor thing needs to be tended too” She kept he head low but it was clear that she was worried about the horses. “They depend on me” She whispered.

Devi then fell silent again, contradicting a male, never mind a Prince was bad enough she was not gong push her luck. She felt him tare open her dress more but the only sign that she had felt it was she moved her head slightly to the side but kept it down her hands in her lap she stared at them. Her hands were rough and full of blisters cracked. Not the hands of a woman. Her body instinctively tensed as he began to clean. She was confused why was he being nice to her?

At he mentioned the Doctor she couldn’t believe her ears. “ I have never been to a doctor your Majesty” She licked her lips nervously when asked of her name. She shook her head “Devi your Majesty but I will answer to what ever you wish to call me. I am not called by my name” When he pulled the dress down more she hanged her head in shame. “I am not quick enough,” She said as if it was the reason why she was so beat up and she believed the reason was real.

The guard entering caused Devi to straighten her back ripping more wounds open. Although her breasts were nearly fully exposed she made no attempt to cover them up she had learned he body was not her own but for the enjoyment of everyone. When he began to apply the ointment she grabbed a hold of her knees and tensed her body up. She didn’t cry out but she was very near to that point.

He must have known that she was going to try to resist cause he took a hold of her chin Devi immediately lowered her eyes not wanting to match his eyes since it was disrespectful. She swallowed hard and had no choice but to follow his commands. She watched them leaving then sighed took a sip of the water and attempted to lie down, she had to at least try to get some rest. It was after all the Prince that ordered it. Finally her eyes closed and she fell asleep. Having gone without sleep for so long her body sent her into a deep sleep her body attempting to heal itself while she slept.

The prince went back to the room he had been in and placed his saddlebags down on the floor. Removing his sword belt and then his boots. Laying down on the bed he made himself comfortable and let himself fall asleep. It had been a long hard day of riding and he was tired. He still wondered what his father was doing wanting a treaty with the barbarians. It just did not make any sence. Beyond the mountains was the lands of the barbarians. They lived mostly in tents and moved about constantly. They were ruled by warlords and no central King. Every thing on this side of the mountains was civilized. There were a number of countries, ruled by kings. Some were good some not so good. Wars were fought but there was no need for barbarians.

Even with such thoughts he fell asleep and slept for a few hours. It was dark when he awoke and slowly rose from the bed. Putting on his boots, he went to the womans room and opened the door to check on her. She was asleep and seemed to be resting well. Her body would need the sleep to heal itself. He explored the rest of the Inn and found the captains quarters and grabbed a long shirt and a belt out of it and a small chest of gold. The gold he placed on a table in the common room and then found the Inn Keeper's quarters. It was lavishly furnished and decroated. Here he found more gold and silver that he also collected and placed in the common room.

He then set about finding writing materials and wrote out orders for those in the caravan that would reach the Inn probably the next day some time. He would leave the orders with the young guard and with a promotion to the rank of Captain. He also wrote a note for one of the young female servents that was with the caravan. He thought the young guard needed a bit of introduction to a womans companionship and she would make sure that he got it. Once he was done with it all he placed the orders with the gold and silver then went back up the stairs to see if Devi was still asleep.
