When he didn't get an answer, Aizel frowned a bit more. It seemed like he didn't even know the answer, which was a good thing as well as a bad thing. He got off his bed and walked the few steps to the brunette's, sitting cross-legged on the floor beside it, looking at him. "Are you?" he inquired, tilting his head again, which was a habit of his. "It's alright to be at first, but there's no need here. Everything's fine, and you'll be safe here. There's no possibility of getting hurt here" he shook his head, closing his eyes briefly before opening them again. He wanted to reach out and run a hand through his hair, or to touch his shoulder or something to reassure him, but he decided against it.

Aizel was telling him it was all right. That must mean it was really okay, right? He wanted to answer him with his voice instead of confusing him with a head shake and a head nod. If he could say yes and no, then he might not be confused. He practiced making a sound in his throat, building up not quite a humming sound and not quite a whining sound. He surprised himself when he let out a sound akin to a squeak. Having made one sound, why not another? He used the back of his throat to make a sound so it was like open-mouthed humming almost. Deciding he'd had enough of looking ridiculous and similar to a child learning how to speak and form words, he formed his own words. His heart was racing fast as he pushed himself to hurry and make a couple words. "Yeh-...us..." he managed out, making himself jump slightly, hearing his voice for once not begging or crying aloud. "...nd...no..."

Aizel's frown dissappeared when he heard the humming sound. His head cocked to the side he figured he was trying to speak. He waited patiently for him to get something out. When he finally got the words out, they sounded raspy and unused, but he smiled brightly. "Well that's good. Some fear is always alright. I'm glad to hear that" he smiled again and crossed his arms on the edge of the bed, resting his chin on them. "So. . . what's your name?" he asked, curious. He wouldn't make him speak too much, knowing that his throat would probably hurt from over-use if he talked too much now since it sounded like he hadn't in awhile.

Chitose was happy to see Aizel happy because he spoke. Even if his voice was weak and scratchy, it was still his voice. It was deeper than he remembered, but maybe that was because screaming required raising your voice to the highest octave possible. He could tell Aizel his name now, which was what he wanted. He didn't like his name since the people who had owned him previously had given it to him, but that was all he had, so he had no choice but to cling to it back then. "Chi...Chitose..." he said, hoping that could make Aizel happy too.

Aizel waited for this answer as well, figuring it would take him some time to get used to talking again. He smiled when his name was given. He at least knew who he was now. "Well Chitose, it's nice to meet you" he said, taking his arms and head off of the bed and standing up. "Hmm. . . you look like you need a bath. No offense" he said, giving a slight laugh. There was a small bathroom for the slaves to share, that had a fair sized tub that could be filled with warm water, and then Chitose could have some clean clotes to wear, that were already in the small closet. "Would you like me to show you were it is?" he asked, clasping his hands behind his back.

Stopping in mid nod, Chitose had to remind himself to use his voice so it could get used to speaking. Most people probably couldn't tolerate it when others couldn't speak. "Yes," he said, sitting up and getting off the bed. He'd be going for another round of memorization of the halls. This place was large and everything looked alike. Memorizing things, not like he'd had to before, didn't seem to be quite his thing yet.

"Alright" Aizel said with a smile and a nod. He grabbed the set of clothes that was intended for Chitose while he waited for him to get up before he walked out the door. "It's not too far. This hallway here is just for the slaves. He walked down the hallway to a dark wooden door that stood open. He pushed it open to show a small but bright room. It was a simple bathroom, but all that was needed, perfectly efficient. He put the clothes down on the floor and started filling up the bath with warm water. "Okay, soap and shampoo, towels, and your new clothes" he pointed out each thing in turn. "Now I'll leave our door open so you know which one it is on you way back" he said with a smile before leaving Chitose to have a bath.

As much as he didn't want Aizel to leave, he felt like he should keep as many of his scars hidden as possible. He wasn't wearing much in the first place, it was almost a rag-dress, he guessed he could call it. That came off easily, and even if the nurse-maids had seen a majority of his body to put bandages and such on, he still wouldn't look at the rest of his body. He climbed in when he shut the faucet off, and after a little bit of soaking in the warm water -something he'd also never experienced but was loving it- he attempted to figure out the science of using shampoo. For a different reason for once in his life he was wishing he could read. He played with the cap by clicking it open and shut a few times before squeezing the bottle of generic hair cleaner and discovering the liquid inside. The amount he'd put in his hand was enough to spill from the cracks that separated fingers. He had more than enough. Once he'd put that in his hair and figured out the lathering technique to make it bubbly, he dunked his head to get it all off. He didn't know if it was all out or not since he couldn't tell, but the water was now covered in the layer of bubbles, he assumed it was enough. Draining it was easy to figure out after a bit of testing of the surface of the tub. Climbing out and using the towel? No problem, except for the fact that he had almost slipped climbing out and the towel rubbing against everything that hurt...well....hurt. Dressing in clothes so much nicer than what he had before, he wondered if he was deserving of all this? Now finding his way back....that was the challenge.

Aizel walked back to the room he now shared with Chitose, walking in and leaving the door open as he promised. He looked around the room for a moment before out the door. He had a few things left to do, so if he finished them soon, then he could spend the rest of the day with Chitose. He was sure that the brunette wouldn't want to be left alone in the huge house for very long on his first day. He walked out and got started, working quickly. He wasn't sure how long he would take in the bath, but he would be fast, and the door was still open, so he hoped it was all right. He finished up relatively soon and returned to their room. He sprawled out on his bed and waited, figuring that Chitose wouldn't be much longer. He hummed lightly, looking at the ceiling absently, not really paying attention to much anymore.

So it had taken a few minutes of wandering and hopeless recalling of his memory from what he'd gathered from the mansion so far to locate the open door Aizel told him of. He'd wandered down a couple halls and turned back deciding it wasn't their hall. Finally he'd come to this one that felt familiar enough and sure enough, the single door that was open indicated he'd found his way back. Cautiously he peeked in the doorway and saw Aizel looking up at the ceiling in perhaps empty contemplation. He walked in quietly and carefully, examining Aizel all the while.

Aizel was completely zoned out, one knee up, and one arm crossed over his stomach, his other leg stretched out and arm lying flat beside him. His bangs were in his eyes as they often were, but he didn't need to see much since he was looking at the ceiling. He continued to hum softly, a song he had heard once when Zelphyr had had a party, a few weeks ago. It was a nice song, but he could only remember a few of the words. "He replied, he said listen to these words that I have lived by my whole life. You're only as tall, as your heart will let you be, and you're only as small, as the world will make you seem. And when the going get's rough, and you feel like you may fall, just look on the bright side, you're roughly six feet tall" he sang quietly, not even noticing that Chitose had walked in. He glanced down and saw him walking in carefully. He sat up and smiled, giving a small wave. "Hello. Did you have a nice bath?" he asked, tilting his head to the side.

Chitose listened to the words, slowly grasping the meaning of them. He was trying to sort through these words and depict their meaning when Aizel noticed him in the room. He touched the bandage that covered his missing eye. "Wet..." he said softly, meaning the bath was wet and his bandages had wound up getting wet too. "I...liked it though," he concluded. Beds and baths were now going to be his temporary favorites. He might find something to top that later on or find something to replace it.

Aizel waited for the answer, his eyebrows raising slightly in amusement at the first answer. "Well I'm glad" he said when Chitose added to what he had said. He looked from the brunette's hair, which looked a bit knotted, to the comb lying on the small table in the room. "You can use that on your hair if you want" he said, nodding towards the comb with a smile. He didn't know how long it had been since he had brushed his hair. He didn't even know if he knew how. If he didn't, Aizel would gladly do it for him. Anything to help.

Chitose moved towards the comb as Aizel indicated. He hadn't seen one before, nor had he the opportunity to use one. They'd always cut his hair so it didn't get long and potentially infect wounds on his body. When he was being sold off all they did was harshly rip their fingers through his hair. He took the plastic tool into his hands, running a couple fingers along the teeth slowly, then quickly. He liked the feel of them because it was so curious to him. He ran it through his hair like the fingers had, only gentler, much, much gentler. There were plenty of knots to work through, but a little tugging ended them. In the end, his hair felt too split up by the comb, so he just shook his head enough to ruffle it back up.

Aizel looked at Chitose for a bit, seeing him figure it out. He wondered if he'd ever used one before, or had one used on him, but he didn't say anything about it. He looked back up at the ceiling, laying back a bit and crossing his arms behind his head, humming the song quietly again. It had gotten stuck in his head, but he didn't mind. It was a nice song, with pretty meaningful lyrics. He looked down from the ceiling at Chitose when he shook his head, tilting his head and wondering why he was shaking it, but he didn't ask. He figured it was just how he liked it, so he wasn't going to say anything about it. "So what do you want to do? Get to know the place or just stick around here?" he asked, breaking off his humming to ask this.

"Um...." Chitose had no idea what he wanted to do. He'd never been given the option to do what he wanted. He'd never had freedom like this. He didn't know what to do with it because he didn't know how to do much. Stay in here or look around? Looking around would be good to try and get to know the place better, but staying here felt safer. But then, he needed to learn more so he could prove useful and wouldn't mess up anything major later on. "Out?" he inquired, looking to the door. "Show me....around?"

((To avoid getting stuck with just running through a tour and then coming back bored or going to bed, what now?))

Aizel waited for the answer with a smile. Smiles never seemed far from his face. "Alright. I'll give you a bit of a tour so you can figure out where you're going" he said, getting up and stretching, brushing his bangs out of his bluish-green eyes. "Let's go then" he said, walking out the door and waiting for Chitose.

(Pfft, you tell me to do something cute. Uhh....I'll think of something, hopefully))

Chitose followed obediently, close behind Aizel as he led him places and pointed out landmarks just in case he needed them or got lost. He put things in his mind for later when he would need them. Chitose found he was rather cold in the place, but brushing up against warm Aizel made him feel better. He felt as if he were acting like a child compared to Aizel, not knowing how to do this or that, or how to act one way or the other. The years of his life that he could have become like Aizel had been stolen from him the minute he'd been sold to those people. He found that he wasn't paying much attention to Aizel after a while, getting stuck in his own thoughts. He'd even gotten so lost in them that he forgot where he was and near panicked. He had to reach out to Aizel just to make sure he was really still there. Eventually he just held onto the other male's hand since he didn't seem to mind.

Aizel lead the way through the twisting hallways, knowing exactly where he was going after being there for a few months. He pointed things out easily, things that helped him figure his way around at the beginning. Now it came as second nature to him, since it was his home and he navigated it every day. He felt Chitose brush against him every once and awhile, which didn't bug him. He looked down as Chitose looked like he was panicking, and grabbed for him. He tilted his head to the side in curiosity, silent for a minute since the smaller male looked content with holding his hand. "Are you okay?" he asked, a bit confused, but not all too concerned since he seemed fine now.

"Uhm....can we go back? Maybe?" he asked nervously, looking at Aizel. He felt safer in the small room with multiple items to semi fill it. The halls were too large and open for him and it made him uncomfortable. If here were just alone in the quiet room with Aizel, he wouldn't feel so...exposed? Vulnerable? He just felt like anything could grab him while out in the halls. Even if he was with Aizel and he could tell he was there. He clung to Aizel's hand unconsciously, just wanting the feeling of being safe.

Aizel smiled and nodded, brushing his free hand against Chitose's hair lightly. "Sure, if you want" he said, shrugging and turning, starting to lead him back. He didn't know why he wanted to, but he had an idea it had something to do with it being too much for him on his first day there, and feeling a bit small in the large place, but he had no idea the real reason. "Why? If you don't mind me asking?" he asked, looking down at him. He didn't want to force the answer out of him, of course, but he was curious. He wanted to get to know Chitose, even if they weren't supposed to have any kind of relationship.

"Safer..." he answered, feeling relief at being led back to the room they shared. He hoped Aizel wasn't feeling offended that he had cut his tour of the place short because of him being nervous. The tour had been good and he had found things to use as landmarks to avoid getting too lost, but it was nerve wracking just being in such a large place at the moment. "....Do this again later...?" he asked, just in case Aizel did enjoy showing him around or still wanted to.

Aizel nodded, understanding. "All right. That's perfectly fine" he said, nodding. He felt bad for Chitose. He really did. He didn't want to have to put the poor boy through anything more than what he had been. He needed to get him more comfortable with everything, and used to it. "Sure, if you want to" he replied, smiling. According to their master, he was supposed to be taking care of Chitose. Sort of taking him under his wing, getting him settled, showing him what's what, teaching him what to do, and making sure he was all right.

Chitose was glad he understood and accepted the reason he didn't want to proceed outside of the room for now. Aizel spoke to him like he was an equal. He'd never had that before. While Zelphyr didn't treat him like a play thing, he saw him as a future tool. The nurse maids didn't mock him, but they treated him too delicately and childishly. Aizel treated him with care, like he was a real, equal individual.

Aizel lead the way all the way back to their room, walking in and closing the door behind them. He let go of Chitose's hand and sat down on his bed, blowing some of his bangs out of his eyes with a long breath, laughing slightly. He didn't really know what to do now, since his days were normally spent working. he had never had much time off, and when he did he normally went outside or something if it was a nice day and just relaxed, or went for walks, or spent time in his room, drawing. He had some paper that Zelphyr had given him, along with a cheap pencil. It was the main way he communicated his feelings, like a diary, since he couldn't read or write. That thought lead to another, and soon he was asking Chitose "Do you know how to read?".
