Andrew was nervous he was driving to his girlfriends place, to pick her up for their date, he had it all planned a nice romantic dinner, and a walk on the beach, and that was when he planned to tell her that his plans on joining the Marines had come through. He would be leaving for boot camp in 4 short weeks. He had just got his orders. But it had been something that he had talked about with her lots so it shouldn’t come as a surprise. But he had a feeling that she would be upset. He felt he had to do this, his father was in the Marines, and so was his and his. He also felt the calling to defend his country and its people.

Once he got to her house he pulled up and got out and walked to her door knocking on it he greeted her father. “Good evening Sir” He said. He was welcomed inside he turned to her dad, “A dinner then a stroll on the beach” Her father nodded. “Well you two are graduated now, so just have her home before sunup okay” Andrew nodded. “Of course” He then waited for her to come down the stairs.

Of course he was nervous, but it wouldn’t hopefully be a total shock, he had told her that this was the field that he was going into, and they did have four weeks together before he left for boot camp. He just hoped she wouldn’t leave him and dump him. But he would find out shortly.

Isis comes down the stairs knowing Andrew was here. She smiles at him and says to her father, “I have your dinner in the microwave so it stays warm.” She had to take of her father since her mother left them when she was twelve. She grabs her coat just in case it gets cold and kisses Andrew’s cheek. She sees that e is nervous about something they walk to his car.

Smiling at Isis as she came down the stairs. She was beautiful as always. Once they were walking to the car he held her hand lightly and opened up the door stealing a small peck on her forhead before closeing the door and going around to get in himself. He smiled. "You look beautiful as always"

Then he began driving "I figured a nice dinner then a walk on the beach" He squeeze her hand. Once they made it to the restruant he again held the door open for her. And lead her into the resturant, it was a romantic one, candle light tables. He smiled and after they ordered he made small talk , he wanted to keep this light until their walk on the beach, then when they were alone he would tell her.

Isis nods and smiles as they dive to the restaurant. She looks around as she had never been to this place before. She smiles some as their waiter takes the to a table in the back surrounded by candles. She sits down at the table and orders her food calmly. As soon as the waiter was gone, she says, “Okay what’s going on? We never go anywhere this fancy. I can see hat you are hiding something from me.”

Andrew couldnt stop staring at Isis. The love of his life, he smiled at her as she looked around the place, it seemed like he had impressed her. He had really hoped to enjoy the dinner and tell her after while on the beach where he could hold her, or she could hit him but here in the restruant. But the look on her face told him that there was no way around it.

He sighed and brought his hand over to met hers. "Isis you know that I love you and I will never stop" He lightly sqeezed her hand "And I really wanted to do this on the beach after" He licked his lips "I guess there is no way to say this but to just say it, I am leaving for boot camp in four weeks" He looked her in the eyes and waited to see what she was going to do.

Isis looks at him and says, “You are leaving in four weeks to go to the marines…I glad you are keeping the family tradition. How long will you be gone, Andrew?” She was just trying her best to stay calm. The waiter comes with their food and drinks and she smiles kindly at him before eating slowly. She looks up at Andrew as she waits for an answer from him.

Watching Isis closly to see how she would react she seemed okay though but he was still concered about what she was thinking and feeling. "I will be gone four 6 weeks of bootcamp, then when I get my marching orders I could be gone for 6 months to 18 months" He thanked the waiter for the food. "Isis I know its a long time but I want you to know that I love you with all my heart, as I have since we met you know that right?" He brought her hand to his lips and kissed it softly.

He ate slowly and continued to keep his eye on her worried about her.

Isis looks t him and says, “Thank is a long time Andrew. But I am willing to wait since this is something you have been wanting to do for years. Are you going to right me every day like we talked on the beach a few weeks ago.” She smiles some as he kisses her hand then they both when back to eating. She was not upset with him or anything she was just worried about him.

"I know its a long time" Andrew spoke softly his eyes glistened with tears."Isis that makes me so happy that you are supporting me I know its a long time and scary, but I do love you and I always will" He had something else in the works but he had to speak to her father first. He smiled again "My sweet love I am going to try and write you every day, I love you Isis I really do"

Isis smiles and says, “Of course I am going to support you. You are my lover and I am going to stand by you no matter what.” She could see his eyes getting glossy and she strokes his cheek. “Lover you did not need to start crying.” She kisses him softly as she did not like to see him cry. She looks around as she notices that they were in their own private room.

Andrew wiped away his eyes "I am just so happy that you understand I thnk I am the luckiest man alive" He grinned again. "Well we have four weeks in which to spend a lot of time and make memoires. and to enjoy our selves." He paused. "What would you lke to do in that time? We can do anything, the water slides, camping, movies, bonfires," He smiled "What ever my girl wants to do I will do"

Isis smiles and looks at him and says, “Andrew you know I have to take off my dad tomorrow. And I have to baby-sit all next week.” She kisses him softly on the lips and says, “Unless you want to help me. Anna my neighbor’s daughter absolutely adores you.” She smiles and finishes her food and drink. The waiter quickly gets her a refill on her drink. She looks at her lover calmly.

Andrew nodded. "Ahh that is right" He grinned. "Sure I will help you baby sit" He winked we can tag team her. But she is a good girl I just want to spend time with you. He grinned "I have some stuff to discuss with your father to" He ate with her and once done looked at her "Do you want dessert or to have icecream on the beach watching the tide come in?" He grinned "Either way is fine with me"

Isis looks at him with a smile and says, “We can get some ice cream as we go for our walk on the beach.” She looks at him confused as he mentioned talking to her father and asks, “What do you have to talk to my father about?” She and Andrew have been dating since they were both fifteen and it shows that their bond has grown even stronger since then.

Nodding Andrew smiled and singled for the waitor that brought the bil Andrew took it before she could see it and grinned "You will find out soon enough" He then stood and kissed her cheek "I will be right back my love" With that he paid the bill then came back to her and helped her up and lead her to the car. Driving to the beach he then parked it and took her out and begain walking her to the beach. "Well my love, now that we are alone you can really talk" He turned and looked at her "Please, tell me whats on your mind" He brought her close and kissed her forhead.

Isis smiles as she watches him calmly as he paid for the bill. She then walks with him to his car and smiles as they head to the beach. She looks at him for a moment as he asked her to tell him what was on her mind. Her eyes go to the ground for a moment and says, “A lot of things are on my mind Andrew. You know I support you in whatever you do. However, I can’t help but feel unsure of your decision to join the marines. I mean you know how my father is, he is getting sicker every day and does not want me to be alone.” She looks in his eyes looking for comfort. “He does not have much longer to live and I know he is trying to find me a place to go after he dies.”

Andrew softly brought a finger to her chin and brought it up to look at him. "My sweet Isis I dont want you to worry about what you are going to do" He held her close and rested his chin on the top of her head. He had planned on asking his premisson to ask Isis to marry her, they could have a simple wedding before he left, and then she could live on the base while he was gone, and she would be well taken care of. Along with her father.

But he wanted to ask her father frist. That was the proper way. He wanted to do things the proper way. She just had to wait a bit longer, he arleady had the ring picked out and had it on him so if he said yes, he would ask her. He only hoped he would say yes.

Isis looks at him and says, “I know but I can’t help it, Andrew.” She kisses him softly on the lips and stays in his arms feeling safe with him. She looks at him and says, “I know you are planning something Andrew. I know you too well not to know when you are scheming something.” She smiles some and places her head calmly on his chest.

Kissing her back equally as softly he gently held her. "You are going to be okay my love I promise you" He continuned to hold her tight to him as they stood on the beach. He chucked though "I have no idea what you are talking about Isis what ever could I be up to?" He kissed the top of her head smiling.

Isis smiles and says, “Sure you don’t my love.” She slowly gets out of his arms and heads to the little ice cream shop. Marcus the owner of the shop sees her coming and smiles. He asks, “You want the usual Isis?” She nods and says before looking back at Andrew, “Yes please…” He smiles and gets her a triple scoop of cookies n crème with chocolate sauce.

Walking to the icecream shop Andrew sighed. These were the times that he wanted to remember when he left, and he wanted her to remember too, and he knew that she would have another good memory, as long as he could get her alone again before he had to go. He smiled at that fact. Once inside the shope he grinned. "I will have chocolate cookie dough please" Then he paid for his and hers icecream and walked back to her. "Where shall we eat these? On the peir or in here?"

Isis looks at him and says, “At the pier-” Her phone goes off and she quickly answers it. It was the hospital telling her that her dad has been admitted into their care. She asks, “What’s wrong with him? What happened?” They explain that he fainted really bad and no one could get him back up. They tell her that he can’t leave the hospital again. She says okay and hangs up the phone.

When Isis anserwed the phone Andrew was already getting ready, he heard her talking and knew that she would probably want to get to the hospital. When she hung up he held his hand out "You want to go hun" He paused "Anything that you need to pick up at home first?" He was prepared to take her to the hospital and be there with her.

Isis says, “I will need to grab a change of clothes just in case I stay the night there.” She wipes her cheek as a few tears go down her face as she was worried about her father. She got in his car with uneasiness as the doctor said he could not leave the hospital again. She knew his cancer was bad but not bad enough to cause him to faint and not want to wake up.

Andrew saw the tears and his heart broke. "My sweet Isis, we will stop by your house and I will take you to the hospital and I will stay there as long as you need me" He brought one hand and held her hand as he drove. Frist stoping by her house he called home quickly explaining what was happening then drove her to the hospital parking and walking wth her in the front doors.
