Ryota grinned even more at Nami's words. "Hmm, maybe I should read different books. . . who knows how many more ways to break things I could learn?" he laughed. There were probably so many ways out there to break things and annoy people that he had never even thought of. The thought made him grin evilly and he quickly ran a list through his head, trying to think of who would have any books that could help him with that. The grin faded to a frown. . . he couldn't think of many, and they probably wouldn't let him borrow the books anyways, especially if they knew that there were things that Ryota could use against them all in it.

Nami observed his reactions that played over his face as he thought about it. "And by other books, I did not mean any sort of....sick, disgusting book guys look at, or picture books, or anything of the sort that you shouldn't read." Chances were that he was thinking of books that would help him with being a pest, or bigger and better explosive sorts of things. Heck, even firecrackers would intrest the kid.
"Just, find something that would help academically, not annoyingly."

Ryota laughed and the evil grin reappeared. "Don't worry, I've read plenty of those" he said before bursting out into histerical laughter. He calmed himself quickly before raising an eyebrow. "Who would want to read books that help you academically anyways?" he asked, laughing quietly. He had no interest in learning things, unless they helped him be destructive and annoying, as everyone knew.

"They help, you know. Even if they're not always the most intresting things around to read, they help. Obviously, yiou haven't read any. At all." She rubbed her temples, frustrated with the idiot. "Anyone ever teach you anything besides being stupid and annoying? Anything besides how to make loud, explosive sounds?" Deidara was probably the only one who bothered to teach him, but that was only out of the art thing. Both believed their 'art' was explosive, fleeting clay, so both were wrong. That would probably be the only thing he'd ever learned with someone's help. "Learn something, rather than useless junk, idiot."

Ryota thought for a moment. "Nope, all I'be been taught is how to fight, and what art is. I don't need anything else" he replied with a grin. He out the book down, not in the mood for reading anymore, and picked up a sketchbook off of the floor. He knocked a few things off of the beside table before he found a pencil underneath, and he thought for a moment of what to draw. He eyes wandered the room before settling on Nami and he grinned, starting to draw quickly.

Her eyes widened slightly as he suddenly turned and grinned at her. Sure, he had looked at her and smiled before, but always before he was about to do someting stupid. Something that would get him beat up, as to what had happened before. But he had a sketch book in his hands, and if he was looking at her, then she could assume several things, and the one possibility.
Either he was going to draw her, or draw a 'comical' picture to make fun of her for. He was known for that, having before drawn a picture of Tobi and turned it into a cartoonish lollipop. And even with Itachi and Kisame, he'd turned them into a poorly drawn shark, and a ropey weasel, then made the cartoons kiss. Maybe he was doing that now, since he seemed bored enough to try.

Ryota drew fairly quickly, his eyes darting up to Nami once and awhile as he sketched silently, the only sound he made was the soft scratching of the pencil on the paper. His face was concentrated, his tounge poking out of his mouth slightly. He was drawing a nice picture, not one of the comical ones he was known for, and he finished in about fifteen minutes of complete silence on his part. He looked down at the drawing and fixed a few things before making the lines more prominent, and then putting the pencil down, satisfied with his work. "Done" he announced, turning the book around to reveal a detailed picture of Nami sitting and fixing her puppets. he wasn't quite sure why he'd drawn that of all things, but he shrugged it off.

She examined his sketch, which had been finished pretty quick. He'd only looked up at her for reference, she supposed, a few times. She was surprised at the detail and accuracy he had put into it at such a quick speed. Nami didn't know Ryota could actually draw something other than stick figures, so when he drew this, she caught her breath.
"You can draw like that in such a short time span?" she asked, trying to confirm that he hadn't cheated in anway or anything. "It's impressive, to say the least."

Ryota was silent as Nami examined his drawing, a grin on his face. "Of course I can" he said, sounding offended, but he wasn't really surprised by the question. He grinng a bit more when she said it was impressive and he laughed. "Thanks" he said, turning it back around. He never bothered to sign his work. In his opinion, his messy writing just ruined it all. He flipped through the book quickly, searching for his favorite picture that he had drawn. He grinned again when he found it. It was a picture of a wolf standing on a ridge and howling, and it was probably his best work. He flipped it around to show Nami and smiled proudly. "That's my best" he said with a laugh. It hadn't taken him very long, except fot the smudging, which he had taken his time on, not wanting to smear it all over the page.

Nami came closer to where Ryota was sitting. She inspected his drawings better, finding them breathtakingly real. It was surprising the one like Ryota could sit down and do something quiet, while sitting still and concentrating. "Ryota, this is amazing, how come I've only seen the impish, immature versions instead of these?" The picture of the wolf had the perfect amount of detail, including shading, texture, and proportion. "How long have you been drawing like this? Who taught you?" She was almost sure Sasori, her dad, had taught him, as he had taught her the same kinds of things, but the only things she drew were the ideas for her puppets. She hadn't gone much into drawing things that didn't concern her, but now that she was looking at Ryota's art work, it seemed like an intresting prospect to take on.

Ryota laughed and shrugged. "I dunno. . . I don't really show anyone, 'cause it's not like they'd care anyways" he replied simply. He often sat down and drew when he was bored, but he hadn't in awhile, too caught up in being in pain and pestering Nami. "I've been drawing like this for awhile. . . I dunno how long really" he shrugged again. He couldn't remember exactly when he had started drawing, but he didn't really care anyways. "I taught myself really. . . I just got bored and started drawing, liked it, so I practiced" he said this as if it were the most normal thing in the world, but to other people he figured it must be strange to find out that he could sit quietly and produce a great picture.

"That sounds pretty odd, coming from you," she pointed out, looking at the picture again, marvelling at the detail he had put into it. "Maybe you should draw like that more often in public, see what the others say, you know?" she suggested, wondering what some of them would think if they saw Ryota being quiet, holding still, and drawing real life pictures other than mocking cartoons.

Ryota grinned and nodded. "Yeah" he knew it was weird of him, but he didn't care. He laughed and shrugged his shoulders at the suggestion. "Maybe. . ." he replied. "There's only four people here who really care about art anyways. . . even if we don't agree on what art is". He flipped through the book some more before coming to a stop at a picture of a pair of mountain lions fighting each other in the dead of night, their breath fogging up the night sky as they tore each other open. He liked the picture mostly because of the gore he drew, but it was well drawn as well.

"This is true," she mused, nodding slightly in agreement. "Two of four agree upon the method of which art is fleeting, while the remainder two agree that the method of art is eternal. It is true we don't agree, and more often than not our beliefs collide, but all the same, we are artists who live solely for our art." Even she could come to terms with Ryota on art, she didn't belive his methods, but she could agree to some things, sometimes. She looked at the picture he had drawen of the two cat beasts, baring fangs and claws, fighting for their lives.

Ryota nodded in agreement to Nami. There were some things that all artists had to admit is art, even if some try to deny it, like drawing and painting. That's deffinitly art, no matter what art was beleived to be. "Hm, I wonder what we would have come up with as our own theories of art without our fathers' infuence and teaching" he thought aloud with a laugh. He flipped through the pictures again. The second last one was a drawing of him flying on a clay bird over the river. He looked at that one for a moment before checking how many pages he had left in the book. He cursed quietly when he saw there were only a few left. He grabbed his pencil and put the tip to the paper, trying to think of what to draw next. He smirked and the pencil moved over the paper again as he put the image in his head onto the paper.

Nami considered it. Art without their fathers' influence would be what, exactly? Had they ever gotten into art without the help of their fathers', then what they consider it to be? "I'm not really sure," she answered, even though what he had said was his loud thinking, and possibly even rhetorical. "Either the same thing, seeing as they are our parents, and smaller children tend to take up the hobbies and such from them, or they could be completely different from what they are now." She saw Ryota flip through his almost completed sketch book, coming to realize that he was near out of pages. "Who ever has the chore of shopping next, you'll have to ask for another book."

Ryota laughed and nodded. "Mine would probably be the same" he said confidently. He was absolutely sure that he would have the same theory without his dad's guidance, even though many people wouldn't even think about concidering it art. He looked up at Nami and sighed. "Yeah. . . I just hope it's not Kakuzu. . . everyone else is more leniant about spending his money than he is" he grinned. He continued to draw, his fingers moving deftly over the page. He had the outlines of two people in what looked like angry stances, and he was working on the features of the two people.

"Mm-hm," she agreed, recalling the times he had denied her the retrieval of materials for her puppets, when it was his turn to go shopping. "Hope for Konan, or maybe your dad. Just someone who isn't cheap." Nami took a seat beside him, rather than standing and waiting for him to finish his picture. He seemed to be into his drawing, which had the outline only so far. "I suppose mine would be the same, too. I don't know why, but I think it just would be, you know?"

Ryota smirked and nodded. "Yeah. . . cheap or greedy" he said with a laugh. He drew hair on the two people, which made it a bit obvious as to who it was. He quickly sketched in the features, glancing up at Nami quickly as he did so. He was used to the speed at which his hands moved when he drew like that, but he figured that for other people it would be a shock seeing that he could actually do something productive while moving quickly, other than burning off energy as he did so often. He started on detailizing the bodies after getting the rought bit of facial features down. The picture was of Ryota and Nami arguing with each other angrily, as was so common around the base, and he worked on finishing up the picture.

"Both," Nami said. She peeked at the picture he had so hurridly finished, seeing it as the two of them arguing, fighting over art, probably. That was the most common thing they would yell at each other for, and it was the fight that would always drag on the longest. Sure, they would fight about other things, sometimes about how annoying Ryota was, or even over stupid things that they would forget about in no time and that wasn't even important. It was a habit that they'd fallen in to, and something that Ryota seemed to enjoy keeping up. "Ah, what are we arguing about now in that one?" she asked, almost smiling at the detail that he had depicted that showed even the littles things, like how their eyes would narrow, or how their nose would scrunch up and everything.

Ryota grinned and nodded, not answering as he darkened the lines and added a few more details. He found their arguing pretty damn amusing, and it gave him something to do. He shaded in the correct places, and added a bit more texture as he laughed at Nami's question. "Probably art" he said, putting his pencil down with a laugh. He looked down at his lead-smeared hand and rubbed some of it off on his cloak, but it just smudged it in more, not that he really cared. The biggest of his worries there was that the tounges on his palms would lick at the lead and his mouths get lead poisoning, if that was even possible.

Nami noticed something when he was wiping off his hand on his cloak. "Um, your hands' tongues are sticking out, and drooling..." she said, pointing at the dripping saliva from his hands. "You wouldn't want them to ruin such a fantastic picture, correct? Even you are not one for spoiling art." Well, most art, except her puppets, on occasion. "Perhaps they are hungry for.....lead?" she joked, raising an eyebrown and wondering if the hands mouths on his hands really could get hungry.

Ryota looked down at his hands and scrunched up his face. "Ew" he muttered as he moved them away from the picture and putting them on the bed so that the spit was absorbed by the blanket. He didn't really care where the saliva was as long as it wasn't ruining his art. "They tried to eat one of my best pictures a few weeks ago. . . it's got bite marks in the paper now" he flicked to the page to reveal a slightly crinkled picture of an owl on a tree with a cemi-circle ripped out. Ryota laughed at her suggestiong and glanced down at his hands again. "Well I sure as hell hope I can't get lead poisoning through them" he said with a grin. If his mouths could actually get hungry, the Akatsuki would probably be bankrupt, having to feed the equivellant of three Ryotas along with everyone else, unless they didn't eat much, but there would still be a problem.

Making a face as Ryota placed his hands on the bed so the spit could be absorbed by the blanket, vowing to herself not to touch the blanket unless she really, really had to. Who knows what else it was covered in, other than saliva from hands. "Maybe you should wear gloves or something so they can't chew on whatever your doing next time?" she asked him, wondering if his hands would take to having covers on them. "It couldn't hurt, right? Or have you already tried that?"

Ryota shook his head at the suggestion with a short laugh. "Tried it. They ate through the palm of the gloves. Stupid peices of shit. But I shouldn't be complaining. . . without them it'd be pretty hard to create my art". He picked up his pencil and looked at the damage done by the mouths on there. If he didn't know better, he would have said that someone had chewed it up while thinking or something, but the mouths on his hands had chewed it up rather efficiently. "They're not too bad most of the time. . . but sometimes they get a little. . . out of control" he admitted, grinning.
