“As a vampire continues through their eternal existence, so do their mortal desires. Mortal desires such as to find love and to be loved. Such desires have driven man to battle and die. Is it noble? Is it pure foolishness? Who are we to judge? What we humans see as wrong, nature tends to see as right or justified. The forbidden kiss of immortality tempts all man but…remains just out of our reach.

While those blessed or cursed by being a vampire, crave just one thing…acceptance from just one person. Their one promised mate. The one meant to give their whole existence. That is no different from what we humans desire. Do not be afraid of the vampire kind. They mean no harm.”

The TV goes black before showing a young blonde woman sitting behind a news desk. “That was Dr. Francis Mathews on the opinion on vampires. It has been five years since vampires announced their existence to the world. Many humans are against recognizing them as just another ethnicity. That they are a threat to humans. We here on the Channel 397 want to know your opinion. Log on now to www.channel397.com to tell us what think. This is the topic of the night. Join in to be heard live.” Then a commercial comes on.

Ell Mercy logs on to her podcast and begins to record her response on her voice blog. Her voice changed by a voice alter head set. She makes sure her IP address is heavily encrypted before calmly recording her message. “Vampires may be different from us humans but they deserve a chance to exist in the open. We have the right to free expression, the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and so many other liberties that we humans take advantage of. Why should the vampire people not have the same rights? They do not feed off unwilling people. What is the harm? Do we really want to repeat our past mistakes just because of fear? Give people a chance. Because otherwise, it’s a hate crime and the last time I checked that was an offense punishable by law no matter who you are.”

She signs her message as Verbal Angel and sends it in before going to bed. Unknown to her, her message goes viral on the net and even the underground vampire scene. When she wakes up, she finds herself seeing that everyone is trying to find out whom Verbal Angel is. She walks through the market doing her best not to freak out. Especially since the vampire royal court is even looking for her. She walks through the crowds but ends up bumping into someone hard enough to knock her on her ass. She says, “I am so sorry. Did I hurt you?” She slowly looks up at the person.

(All right, this is set in the year 3089. Vampires have just come out in the open. Humans are trying to exile them out of the US. The vampires do not get much support from humans other than their familiars. Therefore, they are interested in meeting her. In addition, when a vampire noble finds her, she/he turns out to be Ell Mercy’s soul mate. However, being with humans is against vampire law unless it is agreed upon that the vampire partner will turn the human partner within a year of finding the intended soul mate. You can be male or female.)
