The bell finally rang and Daishiro closed his math book with a sigh. He had homework, which wasn't surprising, since the teacher assigned them about fifty long questions a day. He got up and took his books to his locker, glad that half the day was over. Just another half to strain through before he could hang out with Maemi. He grabbed the small amount of money he had snuck from his parents to buy a lunch and he headed down the hallway, wondering where Maemi would be.

((mmkay im assuming they have 3 classes then lunch? if not, oops, oh well ^.^"))

Maemi ran out of the room, ignoring the rantings of the teacher as he ran out 'too early.' Their too early was running out just as the bell rang, if not before it rang. They made them wait until everyone was in the hall, then it was hard to get out of the class room and to the lockers and lunch room. After tossing his stuff carelessly to the floor of his locker and grabbing the money for lunch he ran off to meet with Daishiro. When he saw him and ran over to him, he grinned and laughed. "Lunch! We get to see each other again!"

Daishiro was looking for Mae, turning his head when he glimpsed his hair, seeing him rushing over. He smiled brightly and nodded, laughing as well. "Yep. Not enough time during the day that we get to though" he said, grinning. He didn't like that he didn't get to see Maemi all that often, but at least he had him at all. He headed towards the lunch room, knowing that the line for food was probably gonna be long, as usual.

"That should be illegal to keep us apart in school this long!" Maemi joked, though he wouldn't mind if they did give them more classes together. Not like they were the chatterboxes in class where they sat next to their friends and talked all hour. "I bet they all know we're together and that they're homophobes and are afraid we'd start a make-out session in their class," he said, since he did sort of believe that.

Daishiro nodded, making a face. "It really should" he agreed, sighing, "It's a horrible thing to do". They weren't bad in class, so he didn't understand why they weren't in the same classes except for one. He laughed at Mae's idea. He wouldn't be surprised if that was the actual reason. "Probably. They're all stupid homophobes. Everyone was fine until we showed that we were dating" he frowned slightly, shaking his head. Teachers and people had all been nice to him until then, but he didn't care, as long as he had Maemi.

"I know, seriously," Maemi replied with a sarcastic roll of the eyes. "It's like, to them, as soon as we came out, we suddenly became stupid to them, and all of the sudden we became 'trouble-makers' so then it's basically us who gets all the blame for random junk we'd probably never do. I swear the teachers look for mistakes to fail me," he said as another part of a theory he'd been working on a while back. As soon as they'd come out his grades had dropped, so he figured his teachers were going back to 'correct' his grades only then realizing a bunch of mistakes he'd made and should be docked for.

Daishiro stuck out his tongue to make a face, knowing how he felt. His grades had dropped a bit as well, but not too much. It was more, he had been a quiet kid who didn't get in trouble ever, and the teachers liked him, and now he was a quiet kid who got in toruble for things he didn't do and the teachers hated him. It was all because they came out, but he didn't regret it one bit.

"Weird, huh, how life throws you something, and when you catch it other stuff happens?" he suggested, since life had thrown them each other, in a way of speaking, and when they'd gotten together and hooked up, leading them to eventually come out to everyone about them, they were instantly and almost effectively shunned from the rest of society. He knew there were more people like the two of them, but because of how they were openly treated at school then they may have been afraid to come out. "Y'see? This is why we have Day Of Silence."

Daishiro nodded, humming in response. It bugged him how things turned out that way, and it all seemed to happen to them. His parents had loved him before he came out as well. He had been a model son, and now he was almost invisible, just becuase he was gay. "Mhmm. The Day of Silence was a great creation" he ran a hand through his hair, standing in line for food, knowing it would probably take awhile, but he had enough patience.

"Yep. In honor of those who'd been silenced or closeted because of their orientation (Some day in May? I think?) we keep quiet for a day, it's great," Maemi responded. (Good luck with that, buddy X3) "I know there're loads of other holidays for us if we looked them up online, but I can't remember the last time the library lady would let me touch a computer. She thinks I'm going to go look up gay porn, but it's fine apparently if other people look up regular porn."

"Mhmm. It's a great thing to have around, even if most of the people here won't care at all. Half of them probably don't even know what it is" Daishiro sighed, wrinkling his nose. "The library lady is really mean" he stuck his tongue out, crossing his arms. "She kicked me off because one of the adds on the side of the screen had to do with gays. I thinkshe was scared I'd click it or something" he found looking at gay pron completely fine if everybody else did it with straight porn, but nobody else saw it that way.

"She's stupid, and she used to love me, too," Maemi said, sighing with false sadness. He didn't care anymore. "I used to be like, her favorite, and then when we came out and word got around to her she won't even let me check out books anymore, let alone touch them." He had a feeling people thought being gay was contagious, just like they thought AIDS or HIV was contagious from touching. "In a way, they're hypocrites, telling us not to be prejudice and junk, and then look at them now! If that isn't prejudice then I don't know what that word means."

Daishiro knew he wasn't too upset about the librarian not favoring him anymore, but it was still a horrible thing to do. "They are hoppocrites. All of them. There's like three people other than you that will talk to me" he said, his ears lowering slightly, but he didn't care as much as he did at the beginning. It showed how shallow everybody was, and how judgemental. "Well at least we're both here" he said with a slight smile, moving forewards with the line for a bit before giving his boyfriend a hug.

"Yeah, we're fine, they can't do anything to us or about us, as long as we've got each other we're all good," Maemi replied, smiling sincerely at Daishiro. They'd be the young boys in love through school who graduated, lived together later on in life, and both worked. That's what they'd be known for when they graduated. And when they both got home from work, Maemi added to his story, they'd both love each other loads and a bunch of other awesome stuff would happen. That's how he saw their future, though he knew things could change. He just hoped they wouldn't.

Daishiro saw their future the same way, loving each other for the rest of their lives and all that junk. "Yeah. We can do anything if we're together" he said quietly, smiling. It was a slightly mushy moment, but he didn't mind. It was nice to hear things like that. He looked up as they were at the front of the line and he grabbed what he wanted, going to pay for it anf then waiting for Maemi.

Maemi grinned fakely at the lady who took the money for their lunch and put it on the accounts and all. She looked at their oddly so a fake grin that showed they knew she hated them but they didn't care at all was all he could give to her. She didn't have a choice but to look at them day to day, unlike the rest of the people. He grabbed what he wanted and bought it, catching up to Dai. "Okay, usual spot?" he asked, though it almost wasn't a choice. Not only was the lunch room crowded, but people made sure to cover all the spots when they saw them coming near.

Daishiro waited until Maemi was done beofre starting to walk again. "Yeah, let's go" he said, smiling. He ignored the people covering up spots as they walked by, just heading to where they normally sat. He continued ignoring people until he heard someone say rather loudly to his friend "Oh god, it's the queers! Keep them away!". Dai shrank his shoulders down slightly, trying to ignore them still, but it was a bit harder, his ears down and his gaze on the floor, walking a bit faster now.

Maemi was tempted to flip them off as they commented on their arrival and made Daishiro sad. He wanted to, and he would have, but that really wouldn't have helped their situation any. "Don't listen to them, Dai, they're all stupid idiots and they don't understand us. No one does, so don't worry about it." He didn't let this stuff get to him anymore, and he wished it didn't get to Dai so Daishiro wouldn't feel so bad.

Daishiro couldn't help but let it get to him, when people made comments like that. It was like they were infected or something, and they were going to spread it to everybody else. It just bothered him, and made him feel hated, which he was really, and that was what bothered him. He had no problem with being gay. He and Mae weren't any different from everybody else. He finally dropped down into the place where they normally sat, setting his food down and sighing.

"It could totally be worse, look at it that way," Maemi continued, trying to comfort him. "See, people were silenced and killed just for what they liked, and we haven't been killed. No one's really that far into it these days since scientific research has gone into it. It's genetic and whatnot, see? We aren't 'witches' for liking the same gender so they can't burn us. We're not third world countries that sacrificed their people because of the differences of them."

"Good point. If somebody tried burning us, it wouldn't accomplish anything" Daishiro said, giving a small smile. Maemi was right, deffinitly. He shouldn't let it get to him like that, but it was a bit difficult. "There's nothing they can really do to us except make us feel bad or beat us up" he said, grimacing at the last one. He was constantly in fear of that, but he didn't voice that fear. He didn't thihnk the people they went to school with would have the guts to beat anybody up.

"We'd have to be in a completely filled area of the Super-Christians to get beaten up, and even then I'm not sure they'd lay a hand on us. They might tell us we're sinners and the power of Christ compels us, whatever that means, but I'm not sure they can do much else. The thing about God hating gays, I'm not so sure it's real. God loves everyone unconditionally, but the believers are too weirded out by our 'abnormalty' to think that part through," Maemi said, wondering why he knew so much on the subject. He didn't recall knowing much about churches and religion, so he wasn't sure why he knew this.

"Hm, yeah. I don't see why they all seem to think this is wrong. I've had one kid tell me I was an abomonation, and was never meant to be created, and that I was a disgrace to the human race, because I don't like girls" Daishiro said a bit sadly, making a face. People needed to get a life, and criticize different things. Like the people who went around raping others. That deserved to be punished, but some people beleived it was okay as long as it was a male raping a female. Of course there was much more problem with a male being raped by another male.

"Really? Some kid told me to off myself so I flipped him off and walked away," Maemi said. "See, when people tell you stuff you can retaliate since it's really the only thing you can do back. If we take it and just let it continue to hit us, what are we doing? If we don't fight back, then we're basically accepting what they say, right?" Maemi had always been a fighter. He would rather go kicking and screaming if he had to go. Never mind honor and dignity and self-pride. That was giving up to look cool.

Daishiro laughed when Maemi said he had flipped someone off and left. "Yeah, I know. It's hard though" he said, making a face. He wasn't a very brave person, and he wasn't too great at standing up for himself, normally just letting himself get pushed around. He was too shy to actually do anything, unless he was getting beaten up or something.
