Groggily stumbling out of the room and down the hall, Magnus turned the knob and opened the door, cringing at how loud it was. For such a small baby, he could cry extremely loudly. "Skylar, shh, it's okay" he murmured, picking him up carefully. He reluctantly checked his diaper, which was clean, so he sighed. Just lonely, apparently. He sat down on a chair in the room, leaning back and holding his son to his chest, humming softly. He snapped his fingers and a night light appeared in the plug and lit up the room. He hadn't thought of that before. He continued his humming, rocking him slightly, hoping it would make him stop crying. After a few minutes, the crying went down to the little hiccoughs that came after it, and soon Skylar was asleep again. Magnus sighed and put him back in bed, hoping he would stay asleep now, and if he woke up again he wouldn't be scared or whatever. He closed the door quietly and got back to his bedroom, stripping once he was there to get more comfortable before joining sleeping Alec back in bed, wrapping his arms around him lightly, hoping not to wake him.

Alec was aware of Magnus returning to the bed, half awake as he was. He opened his eyes a bit to see Magnus, undressed now, settling down and trying to get back to sleep. "Was Skylar all right?" he asked softly, nuzzling into Magnus. Best place in his life was here, he had decided. This was going to be his home, officially, soon. On the off day that another Shadowhunter or a Clave member spent time at the Institute, he'd have to sleep there just to act, unfortunately leaving Magnus and Skylar alone.

"Mm, yeah. Just lonely I guess. I got him to stop and put him back to bed, and put a nightlight in his room" Magnus replied, stiffling a yawn. "You can go back to sleep now. You need it, love" he ran a hand up and down Alec's back, eyelids drooping. He was still tired, and he figured that Alec must be too. He couldn't wait for his fiance to actually move in, and this would be their bedroom, and their bed. They already had enough memories in it, but it wouldn't technically be Alec's yet, as much as he liked to consider it that.

"Mhmm," he hummed quietly, sighing as he settled down, calming his mind with the touch of Magnus' hand. The two were obviously tired. From what, that was obvious. They needed as much sleep as possible to be able to keep their day jobs and keep everything hidden. What would Magnus do when he had a client and the baby started crying, while Alec wasn't there? Maybe say he was babysitting. Clients didn't usually pay attention to extra company, Alec had noticed, when they came over while he was there. He fell back asleep, this time conscious of falling asleep with Magnus.

Magnus sighed contentedly, getting more comfortable as Alec drifted off. He soon followed, falling into a blissfully deep sleep and staying that way. He dreamed a few strange dreams, the kind people got when they were high, with distorted faces and colours too strange to be real things. He woke with a start, finding himself lying naked on a heap of clothes on the ground. Groaning, he sat up and looked around, the bed at eye level. He could see Alec curled up there, hopefully still asleep. He got to his feet and headed into the bathroom, showering quickly and pulling on a pair of pink silk pajama bottoms. He ran a hand through his lank hair and walking into the living room. Settling down on his couch, Chairman Meow jumped onto his bare chest and curled up. He flipped on the to and petted the cat, turning the volume down and waiting for one of the other two to wake up.

Alec woke up again when he felt that he was the only one in the bed. He sat up, feeling rested, looking around. It was quiet, but he could hear a dull sound of the T.V. Magnus must be up and watching T.V. he concluded a moment later. He got up, amazed at how much less he was carrying. He was used to getting up and having to balance himself carefully. Now, it was more or less the same as before. He walked to Skylar's room, just to see if Magnus had gotten him or not. Skylar was just waking up as he walked in, Alec greeted him softly as his baby smiled at him. He picked him up carefully, holding him close as he walked into the living room where he found Magnus and his cat. He sat down beside him. "Can you get some milk for him? It's been a while since he last ate."

Magnus was sure he heard someone moving around, and he figured Alec was up. Sure enough, a minute or so later, out came his gorgeous blue-eyed Shadowhunter, carrying their son. "Good morning" he said, a bit amused that Alec hadn't even greeted him before asking for milk. He handed a conjured bottle to him, kissing him on the cheek in the process, and smiling down at Skylar. "How are you feeling today?" he asked, tilting his head and petting Chairman Meow, who was looking curiously at the baby, probably wondering what exactly it was, and why it was there, invading his home.

"Oh, it's tomorrow," Alec said, realizing he'd slept through the rest of the day after he had Skylar. "I mean, the next day...never mind. It's a different day. Good morning," he replied after his hopeless, pointless explaining. He took the bottle of milk, offering it to Skylar, who took it. "I'm feeling pretty good," he said, finding that he felt good in a few different ways. "What about you? You're okay too, right?" He looked at the cat, who looked at Skylar. Chairman Meow was a smart cat, Alec had discovered. There would hopefully be no territory problems.

Magnus laughed at Alec's babbling. "I'm fine. I wasn't the one giving birth yesterday" he grinned, shifting slightly and glancing down at the dawrf cat when Alec did. He had heard about pets getting territorial when children were brought in, and he hoped that they wouldn't have that problem. He wouldn't want any conflicts between his darling cat and his darling baby. Or his Darling. "Are you hungry?" he asked, thinking about making some breakfast for the two of them. It would be definitely different now that they had a kid around, but he was sure he could manage.

Alec laughed a bit, remembering how panicked he'd been yesterday. The stress had definitely not been kind to him. The experience, overall, had been worth it in the end. The immense pain, the terror, but it had been worth it to receive their love child. "Breakfast sounds nice," he said, "I'm up for anything," he said as an afterthought. He noticed at the moment he didn't have those weird cravings. Breakfast and lunch tended to get pretty funky with food combinations.

Magnus nodded, setting Chairman Meow down on the couch. "Alright. Bacon and eggs it is. How do you want your eggs?" he asked, getting up and throwing a lime green apron that said 'Kiss the chef' on it over his bare chest. He had cooked butt naked before, so not wearing a shirt didn't bother him. He was assuming that the cravings would be done, and everything would slowly be getting back to normal. It would be nice. He got his Alec back soon. And then they would get married, and he could wake up to him every morning like a normal couple.

"Uh, scram...bled?" Alec said, piecing together the word, having to remember what Isabelle called them. Scrambled was the only kind she could make that involved cracking it open. She made hard boiled fine. Minus the third degree burn to the scrambled eggs, they weren't as bad as her other ones with the whites. He could wake up like this every morning, unless duty called before he got to say good morning to Magnus. All Shadowhunters left their home Institute and found someone nice to live with, the Clave just wouldn't know he was married. If they did hear him going to Magnus' every day, then Alec could use 'roommate' as an excuse.

Magnus nodded, grinning slightly at Alec's hesitation on the word. He obviously didn't get homemade breakfasts very often. "Alright. It shouldn't take too long" he said, waving his hands, and all the ingrediants appeared on the counter. He Started cracking eggs into a bowl, adding milk and whisking it, before opening the package of bacon. He hummed as he worked, ignoring the fact that it was one of the dirtiest songs he knew. Alec didn't need to know that. The sound and smell of bacon frying soon filled the room, and Magnus flipped the pieces occasionally, pouring the eggs into a frying pan and turning another section of the stove on.

"Take your time," Alec said airily, watching Skylar eat. Skylar hadn't cried for food, but he looked hungry enough. Skylar was peculiar, so far, his observations told him. He didn't cry much, except before when he was lonely. Well, it was only their second day with him, they still had much to observe of him. Not only interesting traits, but to make sure nothing went wrong with him. Who knew what would happen to a child born from a male. Magnus could ask his doctor friend to do check ups and make sure he was okay periodically.

Magnus finished up cooking in roughly ten minutes, dishing it up onto plates and waving his hands, the dishes starting to wash themselves. He took his apron off, dropping it on the floor and sitting down at the table, not liking how clean everything still was. It didn't seem like his house. "Breakfast's ready~" he called, stretching his legs out underneath the table and getting comfortable. He snapped his fingers and one of the little seats for babies to chill in appeared beside the table for Skylar.

Alec walked over to the table, just about to ask Magnus for a highchair for Skylar when he saw Magnus had thought ahead. "Looks good," he said, smelling the air which the scent had dispersed. He burped him before he set Skylar down in the seat, putting the bottle on the table. He sat at the table, smiling at the thought that this was his family. The people he loved most in the world, other than his blood family. "Cooking must be easy for you, huh?" Magnus did, after all, have pretty much 800 years to perfect that skill.

Magnus watched Alec, slightly curious as he burped Skylar before putting him in the seat. "I hope so" he said, smiling slightly. He picked up his fork, scooping up some of his eggs. "Yep. Although, it's easy for most people. Isabelle however. . . well let's just not go there" he said, laughing slightly. He had no idea what to say about Isabelle's cooking, except that she should never be allowed near the kitchen except to eat something that somebody else made. It was safer for everybody that way.

"I don't think Isabelle would learn how to perfect, or even get good at cooking, if she had forever to practice and learn," Alec said, because Isabelle was, face it, a hopeless case. She had yet to even master cooking those frozen dinners. Closest she had gotten was it was either a little frozen still, or burnt. For reasons unknown she didn't seem to trust the instructions on the back. Alec ate some of the eggs, marveling at how they were just eggs but tasted better than the Institute's food any day.

"I think you're right" Magnus agreed, crunching on a piece of bacon. "She's a lost cause. It's really not that hard to follow directions on a box. Cooking from scratch is different" he sighed, shaking his head. It really was strange how hopeless she was. If she was going to die from anything other than her Shadowhunting, it was going to be from food poisoning. That would be hard to explain to the Clave. "I would offer to teach her, but I'm scared I might die" he grinned slightly. Sure, he could fix any seriously dangerous problems, but still. Who knows?

"Eh, it's not her way of cooking that kills," Alec explained. "It's what she cooks and where she gets it." Alec didn't know half the stuff she brought home, along with the recipes she found from random people with crazy tastes. "Well, except when she forgets to turn down the stove, then it gets a tad dangerous and potentially life threatening." The reason no one stayed in the kitchen with her, but stayed near it with a stele in hand in case she hurt herself trying to cook. She'd burned herself a couple times, but it was the rest of them who suffered while she cooked or had them eat.

"Hmm, this is true. Trusting random people she meets isn't always a good thing. The world isn't as safe a place as it used to be. But it's also much more interesting" Magnus worked through his breakfast, getting coffee for both of them without getting up, the Starbucks cups appearing on the table. He licked some of the whipped cream off the top of his, smiling slightly. He really loved his sweets. Like Alec. "And how many times has she forgotten to turn off the stove exactly?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. That was always a serious fire hazard, obviously.

"Enough times," Alec sighed, recounting the times she'd let something boil over, or burn horrible. Once or twice something caught fire but was doused quickly enough. "A few times Jace and I would get mixed up in her disasters," he said, remembering his sweater catching fire once. Jace had panicked and fanned it with a paper towel roll, which basically did nothing. "We just stay out of the kitchen now unless she's doing some cold meal." She didn't screw up with knives. If anything, she was good at cutting food. Solid food, anyway. He took the coffee that had appeared in front of him, courtesy of Magnus. He looked at Magnus licking some of the whipped cream off his coffee. Alec didn't know what looked better, Magnus licking the cream, or the cream getting tongue from Magnus.

Magnus laughed at the idea of Alec and his parabatai getting mixed up in that. Too bad something hadn't happened to Jace. "Staying away from her cooking is always a good idea" he agreed. He caught Alec looking at him as he licked the whipped cream off of his coffee and dropped a wink, smirking at him over the cup before taking a sip. It was always nice to know that he was looking. It made him feel more appreciated. He was constantly watching Alec, but he didn't catch his fiance watching him as often.

Alec made a face when Magnus caught him ogling his tongue action without even knowing he was doing it. Magnus didn't need to know that though, or maybe he already knew Alec did that, found himself staring, that is. Gee, maybe they were both that badly sex deprived. Alec wouldn't doubt it. After he'd gotten comfortable enough with Magnus, they'd gone at it quite a bit whenever and where ever they could. He cleared his throat as he finished the breakfast and went to sipping his own bland coffee. "So, what are you doing today?" he asked, wondering when Magnus was returning to his as-normal-as-he-could-get-now schedule.

Magnus chuckled lightly into his coffee at the face that Alec made when he found out he was caught. He finished up his breakfast with a last piece of bacon. "Well, I was planning on taking a few days to get used to this whole thing before I start taking clients again. I'm a bit. . . reluctant to have Downworlders traipsing through my home with Skylar here, but I'm sure he'll be fine if I'm careful. Put him in his room, put a silencing charm on, and it'll be fine" he shrugged, but he was still wary. He didn't exactly trust most of his clients.
