Mycrodorm city was a very large metropolis on the east coast of the continent. It was mainly known for its strong seafood economy, but the city had its secrets. Unlike most horror movies, if you mentioned vampires to any of the people of the city, they wouldn't call you crazy...because everyone knew of the vampires that lived in the city. They occupied the north and south part of the city, the purebloods were in the north, and the converts were in the south. Even though they were both vampires, the purebloods and the converts hated each other. The purebloods were a little stronger and faster then the converts, but they had fewer numbers. There was a pact between the humans and purebloods that the pureblood vampires would only feed on humans caught wondering around their area, or any area in the city after a certain time. Also, the humans would give the purebloods the criminals of the city as capital punishment. The reasoning for this pact was to ensure that the converts didn't get too many numbers to overthrow the purebloods from their dominance of the city. Also, if the purebloods kept feeding as normal, not only would the converts over power them, but there wouldn't be anymore humans to feed on. The brilliant minds of both factions began working on special experiments to artificially create a substitute for blood that would keep off the vampirism hunger for a period of time...but the purebloods were the most daring, they were working on a project to try and turn converts, back into humans to be reused for their blood, this way the humans of the city and the purebloods could live in peace and go about their business.

At present it was in the late hours of the night, a time when no one dared walked the streets, yet there was someone in a white flapping trenchcoat walking to the local bar on the northwest side of town, the place was called "Nailors". As the stranger entered the bar, it began to pour hard rain outside. There were a few bar patrons in the corner, the bartender, and an old man in a brown tattered trenchcoat at the counter. The stranger sat next to the old man and ordered a scotch.

Old man: What do they call you stranger?

"...you mean in the stories about me or to my face."

Old man: To your face of course.

Gyden: Gyden, the evil eater.

Old man: Hmm, I'd have to have to eat evil, I prefer my greasy foods of the inner city.

Gyden: If only I had a choice.

Old man: We all got a choice, what happened to yours?

Gyden: It was taken away from me. A long time ago...

Images of blue feathers and the flapping of wings flash through Gyden's head.

Gyden: Say old timer, how does someone find there place in the world?

Old man: Well usually it comes to someone naturally, but if it doesn't...it just might come walking through the door behind you...

Gyden looked up confused at the old man but the old man was mysteriously gone, only an empty seat remained. And as if the old man was phychic, there indeed was someone coming up to the doors of the bar to come inside. Gyden looked around the room, when he entered he was too tired to notice, but all the patrons were staring at him from the corner of the room, as was the bartender, who was pretending to clean a glass.

Gyden: This is gonna be a long night...

He whispered to himself, awaiting the person outside to come in and hoping that their attitude was different towards him.

For the first time in many a year, Raven had taken to wandering without a price to find. Over the years, she had become bored with the insessant ramblings of the pure bloods and their need to rid the world of the converts. Personally, the only rid she had in mind for them was a nice suntan, or a bullet to the brainpan. She believed the Elders to be weak now, almost subservient to the pact they had made with the humans. It disgusted her for a long time, but at the same time, she could understand the need for it. Cleansing the converts did have its advantages, it meant more humans for the purebloods to cultivate and feed on, but it was taking time and far too much effort on the purebloods parts. The humans just didn't seem to care as long as they weren't being hunted anymore.

Her personal prejudices aside, Raven wandered through the city with a relaxed pose. Her wings fluttered lightly in the evening air, open for anyone to see and admire and they were something the pureblood was intently proud of. The soft click of her heels floating passed her ears as she walked, until finally, she found herself wandering towards what looked like an old style tavern. It caught her attention and curiosity for the simple fact she could sense another like her inside. Well, perhaps not entirely like her, but in the predominantly human part of this city, she found it an oddity.

Entering the tavern, Raven scented the entire building, picking out the odd smell sat at the bar. The others that were there turned their heads to make notice of her and then stared at her. She knew why they were staring. If I wanted to eat you, I wouldn't let you see me, she thought silently as her eyes scanned the room and then went back to the oddity sat at the bar. The stool next to him was empty, as was the one the other side too and the barman that was stood a good distance away pretending to clean his glass. An atmosphere already, how completely predictable.

Moving fluidly across the room, Raven took up a stool one over from the creature and sat down. "Spiced red wine." She ordered, "The more spiced, the better." the barman quickly filled the order and handed it across the counter. he asked for no payment, but she placed a few coins anyway. Her eyes floated across to the stranger briefly, but it was relaxed and unafraid. "You're brave to be sat here alone." She offered quietly, "Most tend to stay away after dark around these parts."..........

Gyden had his head slumped down the entire time he sat there as the woman came in, he had been in quite a depression since...his accident. His long white hair covered his cheeks and ears as he eyed the floor, seemingly waiting for something.

Gyden:...I like the darkness...in darkness, I may not be able to see as well as in the light...but neither can my enemy.

Gyden's own wings were hanging from his back, touching the floor almost in shame, no one had noticed them because his ripped and torn wings were not like a vampire's dark feathered or scaled bat-like wings, but they were feathered and as white as the trenchcoat he wore, as white as his hair, as white as his eyes as he lifted his head and stared at the woman next to him.

Gyden:...you see mam....

At the moment Gyden was speaking, a patrol of anti-vampire police burst through the doors of the tavern with their weapons of anti-vampirism and started to make a scene of the lady and Gyden being in the tavern.

"We had an agreement that your kind would stay away from this side of town! You are violating your own treaty!"

They just kept yelling and waving their weapons, but Gyden kept talking, though his words were a bit distorted due to the noise in the room.

Gyden: I was once...pure...a servant...of the light.

Gyden turned his head staring at the man who was leading the group of anti-vampires, through his eyes, he saw every evil the man had ever commited.

Gyden:...you have...evil on your soul...

In a white blur, Gyden lept behind the man, grabbed him by his neck with one hand and lifted the man's neck to his mouth and bit the man, after a few seconds of the man wiggling and twitching, Gyden finally dropped him, the man's blood on his mouth. The other members of the anti-vampire group raised their specially designed vampire killing guns at Gyden.

"You filthy animalistic demon! You've just sealed your fate!"

Gyden smiled and looked at the lady pureblood that was beside him and pointed at her.

Gyden:...I think...she might have a problem with that.

(Ok let's see raven kick some ass, kill'em all if ya like : P)

His words made it clear the man was not a vampyre, pureblood or otherwise. Simply because, both had betetr vision at night than any other living creature. Still, she made no outward notion of interest to that fact. Instead, she nodded, "I see." She replied. Then, just as her luck would have it, the anti-vampyre patrol made their entrance and started yelling the odds. indeed, they weren't supposed to be in this part of town, it was in the creedance set down by the human and vampyre leaders. At first, she was willing to simply leave, but her strange companion seemed to have other ideas. Evil of the soul? That was a term usual derived for them, no the humans. Though Raven could sympathise with that. The derogatory statement from the human was about standard though and raven was quick off her stool.

"Until you gentlemen disturbed us, we had no quarrel with anyone." She said coldly, staring down the second man as the first lay dying at their feet. "And I do believe name calling is reserved for immature children and old folk with nothing better than their own ignorance to keep them company. So my friend here is quite correct that I do indeed have a rather pressing problem with your statement." Flexing her wings, Raven rolled her shoulders and stared the other men down with hatred. One of them pulled the specialist weapon and pointed it at her, but it didn't make much difference. She simply moved to his shoulder and took it away from him. However, to her, it may have been a simple step to the left. no different from turning on a light switch, or opening a door. To the human, she moved faster than he could see. And just as quickly, she ahd disarmed him.

Checking the gun over, Raven scowled and threw it to the ground, stamping her heel directly through the barrel and rendering it useless. "Had I the will or want, you would be dead before you hit the ground." She hissed coldly, letting her fangs show proudly beneath her gums. "I came here in peace to have a quiet drink without prejudice and without having some asshole of a vampyre think he can seduce me. Clearly, even the humans cannot respect a lady's wish to silence." She gave the man a firm push between his shoulderblades and turned away from him. She had no inkling to kill him, she couldn't be bothered with it. And what she had told them was the truth. It wasn't her fault if they couldn't see passed their own ignorance. At the door however, she stopped and turned her face back to the stranger.

"Stay and kill them if you have the desire for it, I won't stop you." She said, "Though, after what you've done already, I wouldn't advise it."........

Gyden looked around the room, none of them reflected the evil that the man he drained did, and so his posture softened up. He was about to speak but suddenly the lights went out, and not just in the building, but the streetlamps outside went out as well, as if the entire city block's energy source had been cut. On the walls and ceiling of the tavern, Gyden noticed movement, shadows of something crawling all over the place.

Gyden: Oh what now...

Silence filled the room as Gyden felt the breath of something right in front of him. Claws wrapped around his neck as Gyden was thrown backwards and through the wall of the tavern, landing in a puddle of water in the middle of the darkened street. Gyden jumped to his feet and outstretched his white feathered and torn wings, doing so made a glowing aura form around his body.

Gyden: Oh my...what do we have here?

The thing that had thrown him was a reptilian winged creature that looked as though it was made of stone. Gyden reached behind him taking out a crossbow made from some sort of white glowing stone, the curved part and string moved back and a sword blade came from the middle of the crossbow, he had obviously made some new age modifications to it.

Pointing the blade at the creature before him, they began to fight. The creature's claws were very strong and would parry Gydens strikes throughout the fight, Gyden tried leaping behind the creature and draining it of its life, but when he bit down, his teeth could not pierce the creature's stone-like skin. Gyden noticed that tw other of these creatures had surrounded him, and two more were creeping towards the lady pureblood. The sky let out a rumble of thunder, a bolt of electricity came from the heavens and struck between Gyden and the creatures. Standing where the bolt had hit was the old man from before, he was holding a giant war hammer which was teeming with electrical energy.

Old man: Even angels need help sometimes huh?

Gyden: What? How did you know I-

Gyden didn't have time to finish his question, the creatures jumped at him and the old man as did the ones creeping towards the lady. The old man was surprisingly fast and agile, with one blow he smacked one of the creatures in the head and its head shattered into hundreds of pieces upon the ground. Gyden was able to cut the arms off another by applying enough force to his sword blade. The final creature facing the old man and Gyden came from behind and was about to gut Gyden from behind, but the old man let out a lightning bolt from his hands which shattered the creature.

Gyden: Thanks, I guess even old timers have their moments huh?

Old man: Very funny, and what of the lady?

Gyden: Oh dear!

Gyden remembered the other two creatures and looked back at how the lady pureblood was doing with them.
