A lonley Cutter (OPEN FOR ANYONE)

More gunfire and now he heard the screams and cries of people, and the yelling of the terrorists giving orders to the hospital staff on the next floor. He eased the door open to the floor and peered out down the hallway. He saw them herding the people into a room, shoving them and threatening them. His eyes narrowed and his grip on the fire ax tightened.

Some how they knew where to look for those hiding. Then Alex saw Assad. He had seen him around the hospital and a snarl appeared on his lips. "Little bastard. He will pay for this." he mumbled under his breath. Easing himself out into the hallway he closed the door behind him and made his was in the opposite direction a bit and around the cornner. He followed that hallway to the next one that lead back in the direction of the hostages and terrorists.

As the alarm was raised Army and Marine personnel in tactical gear rushed to the hospital and began moving in.

After getting all the people on the floor into the room, one of the terrorists went back to the elevators and smashed open the control box and ripped out the wiring, disabling it. That let only the stairs and he made his way to the stairwell door.

Staying in the shadows as much as she could Dani continued following Alex. She was grateful that he didn’t seem to notice that she was doing so. He was too focused on the mission, she had seen this look before, when he had left her on the base in Iraq to try to find her brother then when he left her in the burm to go protect the base. He wasn’t aware of anything but what was the mission.

She looked down at her hand and noticed they were shaking bad. She bit her lower lip she needed to get a grip on herself. She would be no good in her state. She took a couple deep breaths and looked down at her hand again. Okay so she had a letter opener, metal and sharp not the best weapon but something was better than nothing.

Looking ahead she realized that Alex was far ahead. Opening the door then closing it, she quickly but sorely limped over to the door. She stared into the window and saw what was going on. She noticed the Alarm going off, there was going deaths today. She instinctively rubbed her stomach. She frowned. No she couldn’t think about that right now. She ducked from the window to be hidden she had to think about how she was going to get everyone out of here.
She watched the man disable the elevator. She knew that help wasn’t going to be coming easily anymore. She saw the man approaching her hiding spot. She looked around there was nowhere to hide she gripped the letter opener. She closed her eyes as the door opened she was prepared to strike but before she could the big gun was pointed at her head and she was ordered to move. She slipped the letter opener into her well more like Alex’s arm of the hoodie and walked into the main room. She had her hands on top of her head she was being screamed at but showed to reaction.

“Where is your husband?” Dani shrugged “I have no idea who you are talking about, I am here for training, some say I look like that Dani Blodgett, or guess its Morgan now, but I assure you I am not her” She kept her face clear of emotions. She just hoped that Alex wasn’t listening in his state right now he wouldn’t understand. She didn’t look up though she was playing a good hostage role but she was just waiting her time.

The terroriost ignored her, as she spoke and pushed her along to the room with the other people. Some were staff members, others were patients. All of them looked scared and ....... terrified. You could tell that the soldiers, in casts or hooked to IV's had that look in their eyes. They wanted to get at the Terrorists and kill them. But they were to weak or in no condition to move fast enough.

Alex made it around to the other side and came through the room that the nurse had tried to escape through. He kept low and peered around the door jam out into the nurse's station and beyond. He saw the terrorists and he saw that they had Dani. One had his AK47 pointed at Dani and the second one moved back to the door to the stairwell. A couple moments latter he heard the terrorist firing his weapon and yelling in Iranian. Alex knew that he had to be firing at the soldiers trying to get up to the floor. How he wished he had his rifle or at least a pistol. But all he had was the ax.

Now the other terrorist with the AK47 began yelling at the hostages, asking where Alex was and shoving the barrel of the rifle in their faces. Assad stood aside smiling and looking quite smug. Alex looked at him and swore to himself the man was going to pay dearly. The tree terrorists with the hostages began talking to each other. Alex could not understand what they were saying but he bet it was about him. They were wanting to know where he was. Assad then broke away from the three and began heading around and began checking rooms again. Alex grinned and moved back into the room to the other door to wait for him.

As he did sudden flashes of what seemed to him was pictures went through his mind. Places back home. people, and events. A dance, a party with people in formal wear. his favorite place overlooking the city. Dani was in them, as was his mom and the young man Dani said was her brother. This made him stop and shake his head. Focus he told himself, you have to stop these guys, he told himself. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

As Assad came around to check the room across from the door, Alex leaned the ax against the wall and moved up behind him. Placing one hand over his mouth, and his other arm around his neck, Alex drug him back into the room, tightening his arm about Assad's neck in a strangle hold. Assad struggled and tried to scream, but Alex held his mouth shut and soon Assad struggled less and less till he went limp. Alex then eased him to the floor and checked his pulse. He was alive still and Alex grinned. Pulling internet cables from the wall and computers he tied Assad's wrists and ankles together and then stuffed some gauze in his mouth and used some tape to hold it in place. Then he went back to the other door and watched the two with the hostages.

He saw Dani among them and again flashes of memory began running through his mind. They were of her, being held close, of them having sex, of him feeding her wedding cake. Then it all flooded back to him. Dani! he touight to himself as he saw her there. Fear gripped him as he saw her and the danger she was in. His head spun and he gripped the door jam tightly to steady himself. Then anger replaced the fear, again his eyes became focused on the enemy and his desire was to kill those that had taken Dani. Kill them, make them suffer, painfully.

Knowing that she failed in trying to convince them that she wasn’t connected to Alex she would fight to the death for Alex though. She had momentarily forgotten about her being pregnant. She knew that if anything happened to her sweet Alex wouldn’t be able to live with himself. She bit her lower lip as she was thrown to the ground. She winced as she hit her sore arm, the stitches were burning she blinked away the tears. She looked around the other hostages looked scared and some angry but no one seemed hurt.

She couldn’t put herself up this time, not like she had done in Texas, that wouldn’t work there were too many of them. She swallowed hard wondering where Alex was. She hoped that he had gone and got to safety but she knew he wouldn’t do that. He was planning something, she closed her eyes bit her lip and tried to calm her breathing. She looked to the warriors and shook her head slightly. She knew they were itching to fight but they weren’t in the condition they seemed to know that.

She still felt the letter opener she brought it closer she didn’t want to wreck his hoodie. Why did she wear it! To feel close to Alex of course but now it might be ruined. She was racking her brain what could she do? She licked her lips again. Nothing yet she had to wait her time.

She heard them yelling again and chanced a look up that earned her a butt of the rifle to her face she collapsed and laid still. She was okay. Just shaken and now was waiting her time. Something would have to happen and she wanted to be able to take the chance when it presented itself.

It was Dani! What the hell was she doing there. What was he doing in a hospital. He remembered the battle, the arrival of the company to extract him and the platoon, the explosion that sent him flying and the terrorists, now. But he didn't remember the last few days nor Dani coming to Germany. He looked at her and saw the bruise on her face and anger began to boil up in him. His memory of the film clip of Dani at the VA Center was also gone and he thought that the terrorists had done it to her. Then he saw the terrorist hit Dani with the butt of the weapon and he nearly came up and over the counter. It took all his will power to stay still.

He was now angry and fustrated. How was he to rescue his wife with only a fire ax in hand. Added to that he could see that one of the Terrorists had a suicide vest on. One mistep and all the hostages to include Dani would be dead. Going after the one at the Stairs would not do. Even taking him out would only cause the suicide bomber to blow himself and the others up. He had to take the two out with the hostages, then deal with the one at the stairs.

The one with the AK47 yelled for Assad. There was no answer. He said something in Iranian that didn't sound to nice and handed the rifle to the suicide bomber. He then started off in the direction Assad had taken. Again Alex carefully moved to the other door and waited. Again he waited for the terrorist to move by and then stepped out behind him hand again covered the mans mouth to prevent him from screaming out a warning. But this time he didn't put a stranle hold on him but grabbed his head in a certain way and gave it a hard and sharp twist. The sound of bone snapping and the body going limp in an instant brought a satisfying smile to his lips. He eased the dead body to the ground and drug it into the room. "Hit my wife, and you pay the price." he whispered to the dead body. He gave the dead body a kick with a boot foot and then went back to watching the other terrorists.

Laying there Dani tried to calm herself. She had a thought, in the books that she had read to the wounded warriors the main character had a trick when she thought she was going mad but she figured it would help with calming herself so she silently spoke to herself. “I am Danille Morgan, married to Alex Morgan, a Sgt, we are in Germany, the hospital has been taken over by terrorists.” She kept repeating it. She felt a bad headache coming. She listened to what was going on around her. She heard the yelling, the leaving of one. Then the murmurs of the other ones the other hostages they seemed to want to try and help her. She knew that couldn’t happen who knew what would happen she brought her head slowly up and had to steady herself by gripping the chair closest to her. The world was spinning. She looked over to the other hostages and shook her head telling them to sit still.

Where was her Alex, she hoped he was okay, she needed him even if he didn’t remember her, she wanted him right now. She closed her eyes she smelled the ocean from their honey moon, the feel of his arms around her. The smell of him how she even missed that she smelled his hoodie trying to calm herself down. She sighed softly she had to focus on what was going right now. She looked up at the man again this time she was screamed at but she had no idea what was being talked about so she shook her head to try and show that she had no idea what was being screamed. She was roughly pulled up by the arm that had the stitches the bomber yelled at her. The other terrorist yelled something and it went back in forth then Dani was thrown to the ground this time her head hit the concrete floor with a sickening thud.

For a few minutes, 4 minutes total Dani was deathly still the suicide bomber was laughing and was about to kick her when a shout from another hostage stopped him. The bomber stopped in mid-step and turned the gun on whoever yelled it. Dani’s eyes fluttered open everything was blurey but she was awake and okay. She tried to keep still waiting for her time to strike. This had to end, she had to find Alex was he okay?

There was only one now with the hostages and he was the most dangerous. He was willing to kill himself and take the others with him. He was a fanatic, or brainwashed, or both. Either way Alex had to be careful and fast when he moved. The suicide bomber must not have spoke English, because he kept talking in Iranian. More yelling then talking that is.

Some how he had to prevent the man from detonating the explosives. But he had the detonator switch in his hand, along with the AK47. All he had to do was drop the rifle and push the plunger. He judged the distance between him and the terrorist. It wasn't to far, but he had a counter to get over, land on his feet and then a few steps to the terrorist. He needed the man to be distracted long enough for him to close the gap.

Then he saw him push Dani down to the floor where she hit her head hard. That was all he could take. He was up and making for the terrorist. The terrorist must have caught sight of him out of the corner of his eye, for he turned raising the AK47 to fire. One of the injured soldiers rose quickly and grabbed the rifle with his good hand and with all his weight went to the floor, yanking it from the terrorists hands.

By that time Alex was leaping over the counter, but the Terrorist still had the detonator in his hand and he lifted it up and straight out from his side. Alex's heart was beating fast, his eyes wide with fear that he was not going to make it in time.

(Now Dani can use the letter opener)

Her head was pounding she tried the trick again to try to calm herself down. “I am Dani Blodgett, no Morgan, I am at Ft Hood Texas, no Iraq, no…” she silently said to herself. ‘Where am I?” She silently asked herself. She tried to figure it out. Okay the shooting at the VA, the surgery, seeing Alex getting injured, then flying to…GERMANY! That’s where she was. Alex didn’t know her. So she went through it again “My name is Dani Morgan, I am married to Alex a SGT, he is in Germany he does not know me, there are terrorists here, there were a bunch but now I only see one.” It helped her stay calm.

Finally she was able to sit up she was able to see the Soldier get the gun away but then saw the detonator the terrorists eyes went wide as if he saw something. Dani didn’t have time to look before he had her pulled up and up against him. It was then that she saw Alex. “Al” She stopped sort “Sgt Morgan freeze” She had the letter opener in her hands she had worked it down. She swallowed hard and looked at Alex. “I love you” She mouthed. This could either work or mean the death of all of them. She took the letter opener and quickly turned around and stabbed the thing into his neck hopefully killing him. The terrorist let go of her and fell to the ground the detonator falling gently from his hands.

Dani ran to Alex. “Sgt Morgan” She was still acting as if he didn’t know her, since she had no idea that he had the memory back. She didn’t touch him but looked at him. “Are you injured?” She felt the burning sensation from her arms again and wetness from the stitches but ignored it. She was shaking slightly, showing signs of shock but was still trying to be strong. Her face was black and blue and swollen, one eye was almost swollen shut, she head sounds of people approaching she spun around looking for them acting as a shield to Alex.

It happened quickly. Alex charged in, jumping the counter, the terrorist bringing his AK47 up to shoot him, the injured soldier rising, grabbing the weapon and taking it from the Iranian. Then him grabbing Dani and almost detonating the explosives, and Dani turning and stabbing the man in the neck with a letter opener.

The terrorist was on the floor his body jerking, the blood flowing from the wound in his neck but he was not deat. He looked up at Alex and Dani, anger and hate in his eyes as he grabbed the detanator again. Alex had only moments beforethe terrorist would blow everyone up. The ax was already in movement coming up and then down swiftly to the mans wrist. The ax hit the man's wrist and floor with a loud thuinking noise, The ax severed the man's hand from his wrist.

Dani was there to one side of him asking if he was injured. His mind was still in combat mode. He knew there was one more enemy to deal with. He saw the hostages begin to move forward, "Back." he called out as he quickly squatted down, picked up the AK47 and turned towards the hallway that had the door that lead to the stairwell. The last terrorist hearing the commotion and the scream of his companion burst through the door weapon leveled to fire at the hostages. Alex quickly moved infront of Dani, and could only bring the weapon up to hip level before he began firing

He emptied the clip, as the AK47 pumped out round after round. They hit the terrorist, making his body jerk one way then another as the force of the bullets tearing through his body pushed him back. Blood splattered all over the walls of the hallway as the bullets ripped through him, spraying the blood as they exited his body. The terrorist finally fell to the floor, blood pooling around his body.

The terrorist with the explosives finally convulsed and died from the blood loss, as Alex, finally turned to Dani, dropping the weapon and put his arms around her and pulled her to him. "What the hell are you doing here Dani?" he asked, Then he felt her arm in a sling , saw her face up close, "What the hell happened to you?" He pulled her tighter to him, holding her as the assault force swarmed into the hall way from the stairs, weapons at the ready.

It was like a movie was playing out infront of her. She watched it all happened, felt the wetness, she wasn’t aware but it was from blood splatter, it was on her face and in her hair. She was pale and shaking. Her eyes were big. She watched as Alex moved she tried to protect him again but as the arm was chopped off she was hit with more splatter. She was in such a shock state that she didn’t even remember this part. She only remembered walking to him.

She watched the hostages step forward jumped when Alex ordered them back. Then watched the door open and stood still as Alex unloaded the weapon into him. She swallowed hard but couldn’t move she might have screamed she didn’t know. All she knew was that she had helped killed another person, this one a terrorist bent on killing everyone in the building but still she had killed another person.

When Alex pulled her into him she went rigid. Then she looked up at him as he asked the questions. “Sgt Morgan, do you know me?” When the rest of the people burst in she turned over looking around wildly excepting to see more terrorists she didn’t relax until she was sure they were the good guys. She turned back to him looking up at him. “Alex?” She asked again. He remembered. But he didn’t seem to remember the last couple days. She smiled “It’s nothing, let’s get you looked at” She motioned for some medics to check Alex out.

For herself she was covered in blood splatter, her face was really swollen now, her eye that was almost healed was bruised again and her other eye was swollen shut, bother her arms ached, her head was spinning. Her leg was throbbing and she felt as if she was going to throw up. She turned from Alex kneeled over and puked. It was partly probably from the shock of what just played out in front of her but she knew it was partly from her concussion too. She knew the symptoms she had what was likely a mild concussion.

She turned to Alex. “Don’t worry bout me” She said with a smile “Please get checked out” She looked up at him. “Do me a favor too, stay away from any TV for awhile” She didn’t want him to know what she had been through yet. She was wobbling on her feet. Her mind was spinning. If they got his sweatshirt off and he saw the stiches, she had a feeling he was going to think she cut again. Right now him thinking that was better off than the truth. He would hate her and they would likely fight, but it was better then Alex knowing that she nearly died trying to save others.

She looked around trying to get a handle on what happening. Knowing Alex he would ignore her wishes and it would be her seeing the medics. She looked up at him. “Don’t let them cut this off of me, I like it too much”

The anger and adrenilin wad now subsiding in Alex. He saw how she looked and when she asked him to let the medics and doctors check him out, he shook his head. "No, You need to be checked out." he told her and scooped her up into his arms and carried her off to a room and laid her on a bed. One of the doctors and a nurse followed him.

"You took quite a hit back there, you probably have a concussion and who knows what else. " the doctor turned to the nurse. "Please remove the hoodie. I need to check her stitches on her arm.

"Stitches?" Alex asked.

"Yes. She was injured in a hostage situation at the VA Center back in your home town. Your wife tried to protect the people there and was shot, cut badly and hit hard." Alex looked down at Dani, a very worried look on his face and in his eyes.

"What?" he again asked. The nurse had gently took Dani's arm from the sling and pulled the hoodie off of her. It was covered in blood.

"I will send this down to be cleaned." The nurse told DAni. The doctor looked at her arm and cut the bandages away.

"Well now, looks as if you didn't rip any out." he said and laid her arm back on the bed. Alex's eyes went wide when he saw the long cut and stiches. Next the doctor checked her face and eyes. "We will get this swelling down ." he checked her over good and then said. "A concoussion and some more brusings. You young lady will remain in bed and rest." he told the nurse to set up an IV and what meds to give her. "Oh and also set her up for a cat scan and MRI."

Alex looked down at her on the bed. "You are going to do as he says, or I will get a bunch of Duct tape and tape you to the bed." he used her own threat against her. "I will be right here, so you rest."

As soon as she noticed that Alex was coming out of the combat mode she knew she would be the one seeing a medic. She also knew that he would see her scar; he wouldn’t understand that it wasn’t from it looked like. She knew he would be upset with himself that he wasn’t there to protect her. Upset that her doctors sent her here to help him and that she was nearly killed again.

She stiffened in his arms, everything hurt. Her adrenaline that was blocking the pain was coming down. She looked at him. He remembered her, that was a start at least, but he didn’t seem to remember not knowing her but she didn’t plan on telling him that he hadn’t known her for a bit, that would be too much for him. She winced as he placed her on the bed.

Dani tried to shake her head to tell the doctor not to let Alex know about the stitches but it was for not. She grimaced as she was helped out of the hoodie she was worried about Alex’s reaction to how she looked now, with the bullet wound and the scar. She kept her face down away from Alex though she didn’t want to see his reaction. She let the doctor check her over nodding numbly about getting the swelling down. Her vision was a blur. Her left eye was swollen shut and she could barely see out of the right eye.

Laying on the bed she was grateful that she hadn’t torn any of them. They were throbbing though but so was the rest of her body, the stiches more so but she wouldn’t complain she wasn’t going to be taking anything stronger than what she had in her pocket.

When hearing about the MRI and CT scan she sat up quickly then grasped at a hand, she wasn’t sure whose hand though. “NO” She said a little loudly. “No CT scans please” She had done some research while waiting for doctors appoitments MRI scans were way safer then CT scans. CT scans could harm her babies.

She looked up at the doctor “MRI is fine but no CT scan” She looked at the Doctor “No pain meds either, I have some in my pocket, and I” She struggled to come up with a reason. “Don’t want the meds to interact badly with each other” She was still sitting up and still dizzy as all hell.

This was not the way she wanted to tell Alex. She wanted to send him a care package with baby corn, and baby carrots, and cigars and try to make him guess it, not like this, not when he nearly saw her die in front of him, and not after he had just learned that she had risked her life a week or so ago.

She looked at the doctor. “No CT scans and no IVs with anything stronger than what is in my pocket” She arched slightly in pain. “Its in my hoodie, or Alex’s hoodie I guess” Thankfully the nurse was still there. “Please reach into there and show the doctor, I will refuse anything stronger than that” She looked up at Alex “I don’t want a CT scan, the xray causes cancer” She was struggling to make it so he wouldn’t push it without finding out that she was pregnant.

Also she was worried about him seeing the TV without her to, or him watching it period it was horrible to think that he would feel guilty. She took his hand and brought it to her lips. “I missed you Alex" She sighed again then giggled at the duct tape comment. "So using my own threat against me now are you?" She sighed she was really tired but until she was certain that she wasnt going to be having a CT scan or Alex wasnt going to see her newsfeed she wasnt going to be sleeping.

The doctor looked at Dani. "Not to worry Mrs. Morgan, we know exatctly what you need and what not to give you." he told her. "Now you rest." He then turned to Alex and nodded towards the door. "I think you are needed out side." At the door stood a Captain in full assault gear. Alex knew what he wanted and nodded.

"You do as the doctor tells you. I'll be back in a bit." A couple other nurses came in with the IV and stand and monitors and began hooking Dani up to them. Alex went with the Captain to be debriefed on what had happened. He saw Assad who was trying to convice the soldiers that he had been forced to bring the terrorists to the hospital, that he had nothing to do with it. "Don't even try you little bastard. I saw everything and you will now pay for your part in this."

He gave the Captain a full account of what had happened as far as he could remember back. The bomb squad arrived and dismanteled the explosives and others came to take the bodies away. Once he had been debriefed and was allowed to go, he walked out into the hall way and looked down towards the room Dani was in. A nurse noticed him and smiled. "Don't Worry Sergeant, your wife and babies are doing fine." Alex did a double take at the nurse.

"Babies?" he asked.

"Yes. " Then the nurse realized he didn't know. "You didn't know your wife is pregnant?" she realized also that she had probably blown a surprise Dani had been wanting to spring on him. But it was now out. "Yes she is pregnant with twins.

This floored Alex, his mind was now spinning with all this and that Dani was injured. "How.... how did she get all those injuries."

The nurse knew that Alex had lost his memory and it seemed that he had now regained it. She just figured he had not seen or heard of what had happened to her. So she went on to tell him everything about the incident at the VA Center. She was now a big time hero back home as well. He thanked the nurse and then went back to Dani's room and went in. He stood at the foot of the bed his arms crossed over his chest and looked at her.

Looking up at the doctor she nodded. She figured he knew, Dr. Parks most likely called ahead to let them know so she wouldn’t over do it. She started to relax she had been through so much in such a small time. She had a feeling that once she got home no one was going to be letting her out of their sight. She turned to the doctor “Someone should call home and let them know we are okay” She wanted Alex to stay with her but he seemed in shock with how she looked.

She held his hand about to talk to him when he was called to the door. She noticed that he didn’t kiss her, touch her or even say that he loved her. She found frowning and tearing up. A nurse came forward and stroked her arm. “He is just in combat mode” Licking her lips Dani nodded “Yeah I know” A different Soldier came up and had a camera. “Uhh I hate to do this but” He trailed off since Dani had her hand up. “I know I’m evidence, my other wounds are from another hostage sistuation’

“You were in that one in the VA” Dani nodded “Wow and now you’re here” The Soldier whistled.

“I know I am bad luck” The Soldier shook his head.

“Ma’am I have to disagree, respectfully of course, because of you there was minimal casualties.” Dani smiled “Yeah just some terrorists and a man suffering from PTSD” The Soldier frowned.

“I know who you speak of, and trust me it was not you that pulled that trigger” Dani smiled softly and spoke with the Soldier for a few more minutes about her work and such. She told him to talk to his doctor about the meds he was on that was making it so he couldn’t wake up from the night mares before the pictures were taken. Then a nurse came in and shooed everyone out and gave Dani a sponge bath washing all the blood and other mater off of her. She then placed a fetal monitor on her. “Bowered this from the hospital” Dani was weak but smiled. The nurse wrapped it around her abdomen which now without the hoodie had a small bump in it. Dani smiled as she heard the sound which meant the heart beats. Then let out a big yawn. The nurse smiled and turned it off. “I will leave this on though, for later” Dani nodded and then fell asleep her last thought was of Alex and that tortured look that had been on his face when the suicide bomber had her in his arms.

She was asleep when Alex entered the room but she was murmuring in her sleep and moving around. “No not Ann” She cried out. “No Alex stay there I love you” She was crying in her sleep. Then shot up in bed her eyes wide with a scream. “No take me leave him” She was panting and dripped with sweat herself nurses came running in but stopped when they saw Alex.

Alex stood there for a moment and watched her sleeping. Then he went to a chair by the bed. He sat down and took her hand and held it. He saw the monitor and smiled. Twins he though, oh boy, he thought. His mother was probably estatic about that. He shook his head thinking of what she was thinking and feeling at the moment. The news of the Terrorist attack should have already been running on the airwaves.

Mary had seen the news and had almost fainted. When it began it had been immediately reported and she knew that Alex and Dani were there. She was not the only one riveted to the tv watching the news. The whole town was. Dani and Alex was one of theirs, and they were behind them all the way and praying for them.

Finally a spokesmen appeared before the cameras and toldwhat had happened. "As you know a group of terrorist entered the Hospital and had taken hostages, threating to blow them up. It appears that they were after Sergeant Alex Morgan and His Wife Dani. Dani Morgan was taken as a hostage and Sergeant Morgan on his own took out the four terrorists, eliminating the threat. Both Sergeant Morgan and his wife are well and safe."

Questions followed as reporters tried to get answers to their questions. At Home Mary breathed a sight of releif as tears fell down her cheeks.

When Dani began mumbling in her sleep, Alex knew what she was going through. When she sat up in the bed, he put an arm about her and pulled her to him kissing her forehead. "Its alright, it was just a dream." he told her. "I love you Mrs. Morgan." he whispered in her ear. He held her tightly to him stroking her hair.

Looking around wildly Dani was still excepting to see terrorists coming for them for her, to kill her and worse to kill Alex in front of her. She finally felt Alex’s arms around her and his comforting words. Slowly her breathing came back to normal. She no longer trembled in his arms. Dani slowly came back to reality. She then leaned into his arms and cried. “Oh Alex I love you too”

She shifted herself closer to him and buried her head further into his chest. “I am sorry I scared you” She shook her head. “I guess you know everything now” She looked up at him. Her face still all bruised, least the blood was cleaned up now. She kissed him gently. “Are you sure you still love me, I have more scars, and been shot” She closed her eyes and winced as she moved hoping to give him room to lay with her. She took his hand and placed in on her stomach. “How about loving me when I am big as a house” She smiled at him. “Baby soon you will have a new name” She paused. “How does Daddy sound”

She had tears in her eyes. “Believe me this isn’t how I wanted to tell you” She sighed “I was going to send you a package, with some baby corn, and baby carrots, some cigars, then at the very bottom maybe a sonogram, but I guess that wasn’t meant to be.

“Here turn that on” She pointed to the heart monitor. “You will be able to hear them, their little heart beats they are strong like their daddy” She started crying again. “Oh Alex, I am sorry, I know you probably didn’t want this so soon, but” She trailed off. “I don’t know maybe you did want this right away, I just don’t know” She looked up at him. “How can I be a good mom when I never had one myself” She shook her head. “Ignore me I am just over emotional, been told I have been through a lot these last few days”

A nurse came in with a ultrasound machine. “Now that you are awake do you two want to take a look at your two angels in the making?” Dani looked up to Alex “Its up to you” She wanted him to be in her bed right now and holding her. But she had a feeling that he would see her either as too gross or fragile right now.

He just held her to him and stroked her hair. He smiled at her concern about more scars. "We both seemto be getting those of late aren't we. But don't worry about it. You need to rest and get better. When she moved to give him some room to join her, he said. "Don't think that is going to be allowed here. He put a finger on her nose. There will be plenty of time for that later."

When the nurse came in with the portable utra sound device and was asked if he wanted to see he nodded. "Oh we will both have to learn how to be parents he told her. I think every new mother and father feel the way we are right now." he told her. "Don't forget we have my mother to help us out in that department." he lissed her fore head again. He then watched the monitor as the nurse ran the device over Dani's abdomen. There was not much to see just yet but there were definately two distinct forms.

"So Mommy." Alex grinned. "You were going to wait to tell me about this?" he shook his head. "All the more reason for you to start taking it easy, and heal up before trying to help other people."

Snuggling into Alex as he got into the bed. “I don’t care what the nurses say I have been with out my husband for 2 and half months in which time I have been taken hostage twice, under gone surgery” She would have gone on but she turned to him and kissed him. “Never mind” She smiled “I don’t want sex, hell I am in too much pain I just want you to hold me and tell me that you love me”

When the nurse came in she raised an eyebrow but Dani pouted “Please Ma’am let him stay, least for a while, he might keep the you know what away” She wasn’t dumb Dr Parks had called and explained about her being pregnant so he would certainly tell them about her nightmares, he would think she would have a form of PTSD. She didn’t think she did just was tired that day.

She grinned as she got to see her babies. She teared up at turned to Alex. “Oh Daddy I had it all planned in a weeks time I was going to send a package with some baby corn, and baby carrots and some cigars and see if you caught on” She snuggled into his arms. “Man its amazing that we are still here, I keep being told I have good luck, but I think I will opt for a home birth last two times I was in a hospital I was taken hostage and killed a man” She blurted out the last part too quickly to stop herself but hoped Alex didn’t clue in.

She reached for the remote but cried out in pain as she stretched out her arm. The nurse pressed the pain button “Mrs. Morgan, remember this pain med is safe for your babies, no need for you to be in pain” She handed it to Alex “We don’t normally do this but you seem to know your wife, press the button when you think she is in pain”

She then gave the remote to Dani “Here you go” She then left, and Dani put it on it happened to be on CNN and was showing her time in Texas again she tried to change it but it wasn’t working she quickly turned to Alex seeing his reaction to seeing his wife with a knife to her throat as kids race out of the building. Then it showed the wrestle for the gun Dani getting the gash on her arm and the gun going off, she jumped at the sound buried her face into Alex’s neck as the Dani on the tv collapsed and medical personal reached her. Then it showed little Ann being rescued and Dani being carried to the waiting ambulance, it moved into the report of Germany. Dani sighed. “I guess you know you have seen it all now” She still wouldn’t look at him though.

Oh Alex already knew that she had killed the soldier that went crazy back home. She had protected the people and that was something special. But he knew what killing a person ment and how one felt after it. She would be having nightmares for a while till she came to terms with it. The terrorist attack was not going to help either. Especially when she helped kill one of them.

He knew she was going to need some sleep now. Especially after everything and having a concussion and all. An orderly brought in a large comfortable chair for Alex and he sat down in it and held Dani's hand. "Now you get some sleep. I am going to be right here and if I get tiered I will fall asleep here." he lifted her hand to his lips and kissed it then undid his boots and kicked them off so he could be more comfortable. The nurse put something into the IV and told Dani. "this will help you sleep and will not hurt the babies or you. Doctor wants you to rest and he will see you in the morning."

The nurse checked her monitors and the IV and then went out and came back in with some food in trays. "Incase either of you are hungry. It has been a rough night for everyone and especially for you two." she then left again leaving them alone.

"Now you get some sleep sweetheart." he squeezed her hand again and kissed it.

The fact that Alex didn’t say anything confused her. Part of her felt good but part of her was concerned did he see her differently? She sighed and kissed him gently. She knew that he had terrified when he saw her in the clutches of the terrorist, she had hoped that he wouldn’t haven remembered until it was all over, or better when she was all healed up. That wasn’t to be though he had gained his memory at the worst possible moment. She was greatful he was back though, she wouldn’t tell him that he had forgotten her, luckily he hadn’t asked again why or how she had gotten there and hoped no one else would tell him, but doubted she would be that lucky some one would let it slip.

When he moved she frowned she had liked laying her head on his chest but she watched him sit in the chair “That doesn’t look comfortable” She licked her lips as the nurse came in she opened her eyes wide at the meds fearing it was the meds that the Soldiers had in Afghanistan that kept them asleep even in the darkest nightmares the nurse’s words put her at ease though. Clearly they wouldn’t give her those meds.

She watched the nurse check everything and smiled she rubbed her stomach gently. “Thank you” She snuggled into the blankets and sighed watching Alex. “I love you” She watched the food come in her stomach churned. “Uhh Alex is there some crackers or something, I don’t feel that well but I know the babies need to eat”

She much rather just be feed with an IV for now she had no appetiate after all she had been through it was no surprise really. She could feel the meds kicking in. “Alex please get some sleep if I…I fall…as…leep”

Alex gave her the toast and some crackers that was there. He ate the soup, as he didn't think it would set well with her stomach at the moment. "Don't worry, I will get some sleep." he told her. As a soldier he had learned to get sleep where ever possible, wither sitting, laying down or what ever. In a war zone you took what you could get. He finished eating and watched her as she began to fall asleep. He held her hand tightly and leaned back in the chair.

He was still trying to figure out in his head why he was there at the hospital. He had not been wounded. Yeah he had beek knocked off his feet by the explosion near him but he had been unhurt, hadn't he? Then he though more and could not remember anything after being knocked off his feet. How long had he been there. Then he was wanting to know how his Platoon Leader and Sergeant were. Both had been seriously wounded and in bad shape when the choppers had arrived.

When the nurse came back in to take the tray away, he asked her. "They are doing fine Sergeant. Their surgeries have gone well and they are in intensive care still, but are doing good." That was a big relief on his mind. They would make it, though they would probably be out of action for awhile.. He finally managed to fall asleep, dreaming of the last year back home. Even without Dani being there, the nightmares had gone. He had finally come to terms with him not being able to save everyone. But he would still do everything in his power to save those he could.

The next morning he woke early and used the bathroom and then came back to Dani's bedside. He was going to stay there until she woke up and then let her know he was going to go look in on his Platoon Sergeant and Leader. It looked as if some of the swelling had gone down which was good. She would have to be going home soon, for he knew that he would have to be returning to his unit and back in combat.

Barely able to keep her eyes open she ate what he handed her. She took some drinks of ginger ale and sighed. “Thank you Alex” She took his hand and brought it to her face and kissed the palm and then rested it against her cheek, eventually handed his hand back to him so he could eat.

When he gripped her hand she smiled and allowed the darkness of sleep to cover her. Just before it did she heard about the others. She knew that Alex wouldn’t leave her. She was happy and relived that the other two had lived that would make it easier on him for sure.

She smiled in her sleep and her mind did not let any bad dreams come in. Alex was her protector. She slept soundly remembering their last year together, their honey moon, then she dreamt of her twins. Her father’s squad was close at hand too.

In the morning she felt him stir and leave. She frowned and started to wake, worried not fully understanding where she was. Slowly she opened her eyes. The last 48 hours came back. She was in Germany, she had been taken hostage, had helped Alex take them down. She slowly turned around to see where Alex had gone. He was there she smiled at him. “Morning husband” She winced as she tried to sit up more and pointed to a cup of water when he held it for her she took some sips from the cup.

“So how bad do I look today” She took his hand and kissed it again. “Alex I know you are worried about the others, go check them out, its not like I can go anywhere without help anyways” She licked her lips “Don’t want you breaking out the ducttape”

Just as she finished a nurse walked in. “Mrs Morgan we have you scheduled for a MRI this morning, don’t worry they are safe for the babies, but we just want to make sure you have no other complications” Dani smiled at Alex. “See, now go and check them out then come back and maybe we can watch a movie or something, I just want to be with you”

With help she got into the wheel chair then was wheeled off for the tests.

"Well the swelling has gone down some. That is a good thing." he told her. When the nurse came in, Alex stood up and kissed Dani on the lips gently. "I will be back in a bit." he told her. "As they got her up and unhooked fromt he monitors they brought in a wheel chair for her. They were going to take her for an MRI which would not take to long but it gave him time to go look in on his Platoon Sergeant and Leader.

Both men had been kept in Afganistan until they wer establilzed enough for the flight to Germany. Once there they had been operated on. In that time their wives had flown in, but on a comercial flight. They had just arrived and were heading to the room their husbands shared,. in the intensive care ward.

When Alex got there the two men were still unconscince. They were bangaged up and hooked up to monitors and IV's They were lucky to be alive, and it seemed a miricle that they were. He had stopped to talk to one of the doctors and had been told that because of their wounds they should not have made it back. But they had and were recovering. The doctors were still trying to figure out how they had managed to live through it all.

Alex stood at the foot of their beds, inbetween the two of them. He had said back in Afganistan That they were not going to die on hiw watch, and some how they had managed to keep that promise for him. Their wives arrived and immediately he was imbrased and hugged by one then the other, as they thanked him for bringing their husbands back alive. Then it was guestions on how he was, how Dani was, especially after the terrorist attack. He let them know she was alright and that she was being taken care of.

Before he left them with their husbands they told him to let Dani know they would be up to see her. He nodded and told them he would and then he left only to be met by a member of the military public affairs office. "The Press has been hounding the chain of command for an interview with you. They want to hear from you." Alex groaned. He didn't want to be talking to a bunch of reporters. But it was not exactly a request so he nodded and went up to his room to shave, and clean up some and put on a fresh uniform. Once done he sighed and said, "OK lets get this over with."

Dani turned to the nurse “Are you sure a MRI is okay with my babies?” The nurse smiled “Yes don’t worry, you won’t even be in for long” Dani tried to relax but she didn’t want anything else with hospitals. Least not when she is a patient she didn’t like the attention. In the back on her head she knew that if she was better Alex would be leaving her again He would be going back to war, she would be going home. She sighed if she was about 10 weeks along…almost 3 months along she could give birth before Alex came home. She shuddered at that thought.
The nurse noticed it and since she had seen her counting on her fingers and guessed what it was from. “We can get some pictures done and you can get him to tape record his voice, it will be okay” Dani looked up at her with tears in her eyes. “I guess I am showing a little” She could find little comfort though.

In the test she remained still like she was asked to. Wondering if she would have any more trauma, she had been hit three times or more now. She was concered about had blood clotting but there was nothing she could do until the doctors reviewed it.

Once out she was wheeled to an other room where her nurse was able to wash her hair and gave her a sponge bath, staying away from all the wound and stitches. She looked at the cut marks Dani swallowed hard. “before I met Alex I didn’t handle my depression and guilt to well, Alex helped me”

The nurse then helped her into a pair of stretching pants . “I went out and got some for you” Dani looked up at her. “Wow, thanks” The woman smiled “ I saw what you did in Texas, and in Iraq, some of your methods we have started using here works wonders” Dani sighed “I guess I will be getting really fat soon” The nurse chuckled. “Not fat my dear, with child” Dani blushed “Cant believe it, twins” She rubbed her stomach lightly then gasped at the shirt it read “Our daddy is a Soldier” She teared up and slipped it on. Her scar was visible now but she didn’t really care, Alex had seen it and she had only been trying to hide it from him.

She then took her seat back in the wheel chair to go back to her room. She was helped into bed and rehooked up to the monitors then a platter of food was placed on her table and Dani stomach churaged again the nurse sat down. "Now Dani you have been through a lot but you need to eat" Dani sighed "Where is Alex?"

She nibbled on some crackers again and turned her attention to the door where two women stood. "Uhh Hi?" She asked.

The two women entered Dani's room and came over to her. "I am Mrs. Johnson, Lieutent Johnson's wife, and this is Mrs. Watson, Platoon Sergeant Watson's wife, Jill and Sharon. " Jill introduced them. They had been at the wedding but had not really gotten to talk to Dani. They began by telling her how indebted to Alex they were for bringing their husbands back alive. Both men would be going home as soon as they were able to fly. They also wanted her to come down and talk to them as soon as she was able to. That the company commander's wife had began to organize a wives support group to help all of them deal with their husbands deployments.

Down in the confrence room where the reporters were, the Army Media man introduced Alex and he came out of another room. As the camera flashes began the man held up his hand and said, "Please, We will call upon you one at a time to ask questions. Sergeant Morgan has been through quite a bit." he pointed to one reporter

The questions began. What was he doing at the hospital, when did he first realize there were terrorists in the hospital, What did he think of his battalion flying the flag he had flown over four battles. What did he think of the idea that the flag was protecting the men of his battalion. That none had been killed and that there were only minor wounds received by the men of the battalion.

He answered the questions as best as he could, and when it came to the last two, he could only smile. "She is a Battle Flag now. I am proud that they are flying her above our men. As for her protecting us...." he shugged his shoulders. "If so then I ask her to continue doing so."

When the confrence was over he was escorted out and allowed to return back up to Dani's Room. He saw the two women there and smiled as he came in.
