A New World

Nick had been a hunter. Not your huntsmen that went after big game but of a more dangerous kind. He had hunted vampires, warewolfs, witches, and other abnormals as they were called. But he was not like those that the church had sent after them. He himself was an abnormal and he only went after those that were creating havoc and destruction. But that was all before all hell broke lose.

He had heard about them but he had not hunted them down. One was what had been called an angel and at other times a demon and still others a goddess. The other had been a very powerful vampire, but one that seemed to have kept off the grid so to speak as he had not really heard of him but off and on through the three hundred years that he had been alive. Then he heard that the one called Anubis had openly came forth in Los Angeles and that the other had joined him there. He took over the entire city and then slowly had San Diego and San Francisco under his control and that of a host of vampires and lycans.

Soon they had been joined by more of her kind. He heard she went by the name of Raven. These abnormals were not like the others. he heard that they were an ancient race that had predated mankind. They had wings and could fly and also drank blood like vampires. This of course did not set well with a lot of the military people and some of the civilian government agencies. They tried to kill them in some sort of gas attack. It killed many of them but Anubis and Raven now his wife, and their children had survived along with a number of the the others of Raven's kind. In his anger Anubis set off several nucular warheads that he had taken off of ICBM s he had control of and placed in certain cities. The resulting explosions had killed millions and had spread radioactive fall out all over. Not only did it begin to change animals and plant life but people as well.

Cities all over the world built walls to keep the new and strange predators out as well as the strange people Each city became an island in the jungles that began to grow all over, even in temprate zones. Smaller towns and cities disapeared in the growth of the jungles. The jungle had to constantly be pushed back from farm lands and areas where normal live stock and some of the newer breads could be raised and harvested.

Now Nick was a hunter of those that would do harm to the normals as he called them and to those that Anubis and Raven had brought forth. These abnormals or Mutants as some called them, ate human flesh. They lived in the jungles and attacked caravans and unwary farmes and ranchers. They were well armed and intelligent, though savage.

He was close to what had been Los Angles, San Diego, and San Franscisco. All three cities now were one great metroplex, sustained by farms, ranches with in the area of all three cities. The entire area had been walled off from the jungle on the land side and the sea on the other side. He was on the outskirts of the wall searching for an extremely savage band of these new abnormals. They had attacked and killed a couple of Winged Ones as he called Raven's Kind. It seemed that this band had sprouted wings as well, more bat like then bird like.

He finally heard the chatter of these creatures, and the drums that signified they had a catch and was about to kill and feed. He creaped to a clearing and saw the make shift camp and a large cage with a winged woman in it. She looked kind of ruffed up and mad as hell. She kept yelling taunts and insults at the abnormals.

There were ten of them and only one of him. Not to good of odds, especially since they were armed with automatic weapons. He had his strapped to his back and he had his twin semi auto pistols on his hips and one in a shoulder holster. "Lovely. just damn lovely." he muttered to himself. He slowly moved around the clearing so he could put the cage between him and the abnormals.
